❝How sweetly the fox speaks when it’s been cornered by hounds. ❞ (Zeke & Stu)
Tumblr media
"Now, hold on a minute!" Stu grinned, putting his hands up playfully, unable to stop himself from laughing. "You aren't gonna arrest me for takin' a few spare wires from that old buildin' are ya, buddy?" He couldn't believe his luck. The one night he'd bothered to actually take something from the abandoned school was the one night he happened to be seen by someone. "I mean, come on, that thing's been layin' empty from I was in diapers, man. Nobody's gonna miss a little copper."

LOCATION: THE CREAMERY ICE CREAM & COFFEE BAR @anchoragestarters ( no cap )
Getting arrested on suspicion of... something, was rather rare for Matevos, even if he led a life of crime on the side. He more often got off with a warning or he managed to avoid getting caught all together. This time was different, but he didn’t try to think about it too much. Because he did wonder what had happened to Fallon and Rei. He knew they weren’t responsible, that was such an out-of-this-world idea that even the fact that they had been accused was laughable. Still.
Part of him felt like he hadn’t given his ruse his all, worried that he could’ve done more to make sure they were let go just like him.
He ordered another coffee and downed it like a man possessed, leaning his full body on the table and staring at the empty coffee cup. “At what time do you think caffeine stops working? I’ve been awake for 72 hours and I’m not sure this is doing what I want it anymore.”

[ avan jogia, demiboy, he/they ] — whoa! KAI WILDER just stole my cab! not cool, but maybe they needed it more. they have lived in the city for TWO YEARS, working as a/an BARISTA. that can’t be easy, especially at only 31 YEARS OLD. some people say they can be a little bit BRAZEN and RECKLESS , but i know them to be COMPASSIONATE and ADVENTEROUS. whatever. i guess i’ll catch the next cab. hope they like the ride back to QUEENS! —
PERSONALITY
kai has a very chaotic type of personality. they have a big heart of gold at the end of the day and would give anyone in need the shirt off their back, but they've got a knack for getting themselves into trouble. they are a total party animal, always ready to have a good time, and they're the person in the group of friends that always tries to liven things up with a little laugh. they can be serious when the time calls for it but for the most part, they don't see why you have to take life so seriously. they'd take the fall for a friend in a heartbeat, and that’s often gotten them into some sticky situations.
BACKGROUND / BIO
triggering / sensitive content warning: jail, police mention
Storming through the party like his name was El Niño, Kai has always had a way with making an entrance. When they were born the kid screamed so loud that the nurses were concerned his lungs would give out, but he likes to joke that he was simply training his lungs from a young age to handle his loud voice. They are the oldest of the Wilder children but by far the most levelheaded one, they give his sister that credit. What they can’t understand is how their parents still decided to have another even after all the mischievous things he managed to get themselves into, and they absolutely dragged their sister along the moment she was old enough to walk.
Throughout Kai's time in school, they were well known in the hallways, they mainly hung out with their skateboarding buddies. He loved/loves skateboarding, but they were also the type of person who were friends with what felt like everyone. Even though Kai was known as a class clown, because they truly couldn’t stop themselves from making jokes, or doing something to lighten up the dull mood certain classes put out, Kai never failed to get anything less than a B in his grades. Which surprised their teachers every single time and it was often the reason they would put up with Kai's shenanigans.
One thing about them, they are extremely loyal to those they love and care about. And that very trait is the reason they landed themselves in jail for a week. Long story short is that they went fishing with a couple of friends, one of them caught a bass that was off limits during that time of year, unbeknownst to all of them, and a police officer found it doing some rounds. Kai took the fall for their buddy and because their parents were so used to them spending the night not at home it took both of them a little bit to realize Kai had been waiting for someone to pay his $151 dollar bond so he could get released and await his court hearing. At the end of the day the whole ordeal cost their family $300 and got Kai banned for fishing in that area for a year. Now a days he can’t help but laugh at the fact that they went to jail over a fish, even their family finds it humors these days. They have been living in NYC for two years and has since grown a big soft spot for the city and his barista job.

starter: open ( event ) @aurorabaystarter location: a local police station
connie had just left the office before she was called back inside, a client of hers had been brought in for initial questioning due to the fire. she needed to get down to the local station before they said anything stupid — possibly incriminating. connie wasn't a big fan of cops, nor prosecutors, and they didn't tend to like criminal defence lawyers in return. regardless, people like connie were necessary to keep the balance in law and order. connie was often a person that made her more affluent clients pay through the noes, but was also known to provide pro bono services to those who needed help most but couldn't afford it. some could pay their way out of their bad decisions, but a lot couldn't. after speaking to an officer in the waiting are of the police station, connie returns to the seating area for her client, with heels clacking against the linoleum. "you're not under arrest." it appeared as if there currently wasn't enough evidence to warrant an arrest of any suspect, so the police seemed to be taking a stab in the dark at anyone with a history on record — or just looked out of place. "but they will be questioning you, on record. anything you say may be potentially used against you, so i will speak up on behalf unless i prompt you to answer a question. do you understand?"

they were relieved he actually picked up, knowing that the call connected announcing it was a call from the police station.. at least calling cassian would be way easier than calling her mom, or hunter. she would've called mouse before either of them, but considering... "uncle cass, it's omega." she looked back over her shoulder towards the cell that had kie in it, offering her friend a thumbs up. "listen, please please please don't tell mom. my friend, kie, and i got arrested.. for some seriously bullshit reasons, we should be allowed freedom of speech like everyone else-- can you bail us out?"

THURSDAY...
... after a month of careful speculation and painstaking investigation, the police has come out with the full list of the ten people who were murdered on the night of the 24th of June. A lot of backlash and call-outs have followed the departments slow response to the situation, with many people leaving Fenrir's Wood for the summer to avoid whatever was still bound to happen.
National news speaks of a blood thirsty serial murder plaguing this small city, that truly - according to the news - has no right to call itself that. With the investigation underfunded and no new leads, the public eye turns to what they do know: this has been going on for far too long.
Families with small children have been seeking work and lodging elsewhere, trading the old town for cities like Oxford and London. More and more people have taken to drinking, and several businesses have closed for the summer with no promise that they'll be back come September.
The international supernatural community has been sending help and questions to the Council of Fenrir's Wood, voicing their concern and giving advice. The most prominent question is: why hasn't Evanora Ray been charged yet?
The list:
Samuel Berg (Cillian Murphy fc), second in command of Saga's Coven and one of Fenrir's Wood's highest standing business men. He was doing research into the Norse Mythology to figure out who could've been behind the murders.
Carl Lund (Eamon Farren fc), brother of Leah Lund - former coven leader of Hel Coven who was murdered in the winter - had been trying to help Hel Coven make sense of the legacy left behind by his sister and support his brother-in-law with taking care of the children.
Patrick Anderson (Jason Clarke fc), uncle of Arthur Anderson who was murdered during the winter. He was the former police chef and high standing local. Also for the longest time an unaffiliated Witch.
Leonard Dahl (Martin Short fc), uncle of Esmee & Finnley Dahl, two of the earliest murders, had been away on a boating trip, having said to have wanted to miss the festivities because he felt it was unbecoming of the memory of his niece and nephew.
Laura Nyland (Freya Allan fc), best friend of Sarah Lund and a Witch of Hel Coven, she'd been eager to get out of Fenrir's Wood and had been trying to convince her parents to move to London.
Maria Pihl (Evangeline Lilly fc), dean of the Fenrir University, Maria was known to teach her Supernatural students a bit of history on the side in after hours, not wanting the rich history of her people to be forgotten.
Maiken Trygg (Michelle Pfeiffer fc), was on a boat with Leonard Dahl because she wanted to be away from people for a while. She was a fairly unknown witch and regarded as the crazy old hag who lived just outside of the city bounds.
Otto Anderson (Joe Locke fc), grandson of Patrick Anderson, he had been begging his grandfather to join Saga's Coven, because he believed fully that the witches rituals could stop further murders from happening.
Sarah Lund (Kizzy Edgell fc), daughter of Leah Lund - former coven leader of Hel Coven who was murdered in the winter - was nineteen years old and planning to go study abroad in Vancouver after the summer. She was a part of Hel Coven like her mother.
Agner Thorsun (Stellan Skarsgård fc), father of Lukas Thorsun who was murdered a year earlier. He was a powerful witch who wanted nothing but to see his grandchildren pull through after Lukas' death.

WHERE: near the Pool TIMESTAMP: 1st of February @adimuses (aldemar)
It had been a few months since Topher had last seen Aldemar, and of all the moments they could walk into each other again, of course it had to be during the curfew. Topher was one of the last out of the pool that evening, which closed down two hours earlier to give the employees time to get home before the police started to appear on the streets. They felt kind of bad for the police officers, until they remembered how they'd been treated when they brought their information, and then started to feel less bad. They held their bike in their hands and at the spot where their paths merged - despite trying to walk slower - so did they. They attempted an awkward smile and thought about just biking off, but they enjoyed these little hours of freedom more than they cared to give up. "Heading home?" They asked, giving a go at normal conversation, knowing they still had about thirty minutes before curfew.

❝ we were all in love, and we all got hurt. ❞  ( peter & in-ho )
Tumblr media
--- in-ho was not certain how he should respond to the sentiment. he was not always the most talented at receiving other people’s emotions, but he was trying, and he figured that was what truly mattered. a little empathetic smile pulled at the corner of his mouth, as he simultaneously nodded. “you are speaking like a man who has been through too much heartbreak,” in-ho replied, the glitter in his eyes knowing and nostalgic. “you didn’t deserve to get hurt, if my saying so helps you at all.” in-ho knew that he couldn’t heal people’s pains as much as he might wish to, but having someone to talk to also was no luxury to pass up. “do you want to take a seat with me?” in-ho inquired, his brow arching upward. “i don’t have any meetings for the next hour. plus, it seems like you could use the company.” in all honesty, in-ho could use the company himself.

"Look, man. I didn't know who else to call, alright?" Stu whined, his hands delved into the depths of his pockets as he trudged out of the police station following after Edgar. "I had no ID on me and they wanted me to call my parents. How am I meant to explain to a buncha pigs that they think I'm dead?" It was the crack of dawn and Stu hadn't slept a wink in the cold cell he'd been thrown into. His lip was split and the threat of a bruise was beginning to form along his right cheekbone, potentially going to bloom into a black eye. "They're all a buncha posers, man. Think they know everything." he grumbled, keeping his head bowed, eyes watching his shoes as he walked to try and stop himself from getting overly emotional after the shake up he'd just had.

ekam; the strange case of dr jekyll and mr hyde, crime & punishment
The Strange Case of Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde: Has your muse ever been forced to conceal or suppress a part of themselves because society would not accept it? Have they ever had the freedom to be their true self? What would they do if they knew they would face no consequences or judgment for their actions?
Ekamdeep grew up in Manchester in a time where racial slurs were all over the place, on the streets, at school, in the stadiums, and even with friends. Ekam, while his parents were from India, often dealt with being called a Paki and tried his hardest to make sure he wouldn't be seen in any traditional wear outside of temples, home, and sometimes in bigger groups during holi days. He also knew his life could've been ten times worse if he was a Muslim, and that has only grown in the past two decades.
Even at age forty, Ekamdeep isn't really sure what his true self looks like, he still tends to conceal parts of himself in different company.
Crime and Punishment: Has your muse ever committed a serious crime? Have they ever done something they regret to this day? What was it? Why did they do it?
Ekamdeep has been arrested for assisting in manslaughter, though his role in it has been downplayed by his lawyers and the police, in favour of him exchanging sensitive information about his former friends and the gang he belonged to. He listened to their advice and did not talk about what had happened, but he still feels guilty about it, he regrets having come along and not having stood up to the group he was with at the time, despite knowing it would've got him killed as well.

Are you a cop? You have to tell me if you are

To me, it often feels like I’m writing Don as a man who wants to remain lawful, but the circumstances are forcing him to do criminal acts to survive... No cop is purely good, not even him.
I understand the reason for not liking cop characters of any kind, and sometimes, it feels like people are just drawn away the moment someone writes a cop or law-oriented character, canon or OC.
It feels like I’m writing an OC that’s on the edge of a tightrope between order and chaos, between law and anarchy.
Don sticks to his virtue of Justice as a vice because he’s tired of losing control of the circumstances around him, he wants control of his life.
He finds his vice as a comfort, a motivation... Something to keep him alive even after death.
He wants to help Charlie change Hell entirely, to free the oppressed from the system, to dismantle the norms and reconstruct them into a norm where everyone is equal, regardless of rank and power.
No more lawless afterlife, but one where everyone, even the dammed, can live in peace.

THE MONDAY MONDAY...
... the first series of break-ins happened when most of the city was sleeping off the weekend, most stores have started their Christmas decorations, and the main streets were lit up with lights.
The police went out to investigate, visiting several houses at once, unaware of the true meaning. They knew nothing was stolen, but doors and windows were destroyed to offer an entrance and an exit.
It wasn’t until one of the police officers who happened to also be a witch, stepped into one of the houses, that it started to become clear what could’ve been stolen.
The witch was heard saying: “they’re gone, they’re all gone, it’s as if they no longer exist.”
