There were many things happening when I started sketching this piece, I had so many ideas, I wanted this piece to be many things… It’s not what I envisioned, but the message is clear: the difficulty of breathing. I’m a fortunate person who has never faced discrimination because of the color of her skin - for better or for worse I’m a white - and whose country doesn’t experience the horrors of the United States, but I’m aware thousands do, all over the world and that angers me, because it’s so wrong and I feel so powerless and so sad. Why must the color of our bodies determine how we are treated?! Who are we to say it even matters?! Let them breathe #wecantbreathe and let’s keep fighting, fighting until we can talk about a world where colors don’t matter anymore. .
