𝐓𝐇𝐄 𝐃𝐀𝐍𝐂𝐄 𝐎𝐅 𝐁𝐀𝐓𝐓𝐋𝐄 was an important rhythm ; auraline would say that life was a dance , but aurora knew differently ━━━ dancing was not that , not to the nephilim . two left feet are met on the glossy floors of the king's castle , guided by one of her father's best friends . there is a frown on the nephilim's face , trying to keep up with the grace of @pniik . ❛ sorry , ❜ she says for the fifth time having stepped on their feet ( not the first time ) . ❛ i'm not very good at this . ❜ something she does not like to admit , but is obvious as she moves ━━━ she should have taken their offer of skating . skating should could do , but when it came to solid ground ? that was another story .

His day had already been turned upside down, perhaps even more than he would’ve liked, but the last thing he thought he’d be seeing after stepping into that room was the angel. Warlocks were tricky. Of course, not as tricky as his kind, but they had their own methods to confuse someone. Especially if that someone had broken into their home and stolen a precious (or rather dangerous) artifact. 

It took Envy a moment to figure out what was going on exactly. The house he was in practically turned into a never ending maze, each door opening to another room, or another hallway. Nearly inescapable. It was a fun little trick. But Envy wouldn’t have it. All he needed was a room far enough from the warlock to gather himself, and his new possession, then he could get out of there. He didn’t take into account that he would be met with an all-too-familiar set of eyes peeking out from behind a magazine, and limbs far too long tucked into a bathtub as his angel friend sat there in silence. 

Envy took his sunglasses off before taking a step closer. He didn’t need to go far, as the bathroom was not much bigger than the last time the two of them saw each other. The memory of which instantly had a smirk tugging at his lips. “We have got to stop meeting like this.” He said softly as he squeezed onto the broken circlet in his hand. He didn’t care for the rest of it. He only needed the slightly glowing emerald embedded in it.

THEY MIGHT FORGET , but auraline still sees it :  their pureness . wings of light folded around them , faint but there . something that could never be eradicated , no matter what they go through . no matter if they cannot see their brilliance that surrounds them , it remains . it's the reason why auraline greets them as she would before everything that transpired — their bow met with one of her own before taking a hold of their hand , not moving yet as to let them lead . but her eyes dance as she waits for them to do so , encouraging them .

The angel was soft. Warm. Gentle and welcoming. All the things Envy lacked, and all the things he didn't know he wanted in that moment. His senses were heightened, body tense from their closeness, as it felt nothing like any other person he had touched before. Every inch of his body, his nervous system, his damned core was signaling him that this wasn't right. That he shouldn't like this. And yet... he melted into their embrace, limbs tangled, being held, safe and sound. He wasn't himself. He didn't even feel the need to fill the silence between them with insignificant babble. He closed his eyes, let his head fall and lean against the angel's shoulder, arms slowly, almost bashfully coiling around their form.

He had other plans. Much more important plans, at that. The night was far from coming to a finish, but Envy still had a sense of urgency about it. He’d set out a lot of goals, and they were doing fine, but they could’ve always gone better. Perfectly, even. Nevertheless, when he found himself being dragged into the close confines of a janitor’s closet, he did not fight it. It didn’t take long enough for him to realize that the people taking him there were playing a fun little game, and since his luck had been going pretty well lately, he thought why not? The place had so many types of creatures packed there, it was almost difficult to figure out who he was going to be trapped with for the next few few minutes, but after a couple of seconds, it became apparent. Celestial aura, after all, was the exact opposite of what Envy was used to. His back hit the wall softly as he took a step inside, feeling his body tense up from the close proximity of the angel, but the expression on his face did not waver from the usual smooth, laid-back one. Eyes dropped from their face to the body of their vessel, slowly climbing up to lock both their gazes together. “So, I’m getting the whole experience: Seven minutes in Heaven, with an angel. This will be interesting.”
