in the Japanese version of Deltarune, the ending song uses the first person pronoun “watashi” and the second person pronoun “kimi”...afaik, only a couple major characters in UT/DR use both watashi and kimi - Asgore and Gaster (in entry number seventeen he uses “kimitachi”)
i’ve entertained the idea that “Don’t Forget” could be a lullaby - what if it’s a song Gaster made for Sans or Papyrus cause they were scared of the dark?
now i dont wanna get too excited about this cause who knows, maybe the song could be using watashi to keep it neutral so that it could be seen from multiple perspectives. still interesting to note though.

Rouxls Kaard & Gaster
W.D. Gaster = Rouxls Kaard? A theory. in association with @shrimp-nassthel !
After having played the first chapter of Delta Rune several times, we just noticed something interesting about Rouxl Kaard. Apart from being a great character we’d like to see again and again and again... Doesn’t he look a little like Gaster? That’s what we begined with. After that started a whole theory. It’s basically a lot of little elements about Rouxl that oddly remind us of Gaster, but there are so much it’s maybe not just a coincidence!
1- Their faces are REALLY similar. Their eyes have the same look, especially when Rouxls blinks an eye... Their smile is the same too, it’s shape is really particular... And finally, the marks on RK’s face: in his hair, to the left, and in his mouth. (a little bit on his eyes too with his eyelashes.) These marks are quite stiking, and do not seem natural. By that I mean that RK could’ve been designed without them, he would’ve looked quite the same, but those marks are there.

The shape of their eyes are alike too, they both have falling eyes. Not to mention the black and white colors that characterizes them. ( cf. The mystery man’s room, Gaster’s followers, etc ). Plus, Rouxl’s shop is only in black and white, when all the other shops are in colors.
2- Speaking about the colors...
If we consider Gaster’s supposed relation with sans and Papyrus, whose powers are the “blue heart”... And sans’s ability to teleport and his awareness for resets (then space & time stiff), then... The blue color of the sprite Rouxls has when he teleports may be interesting

( On this sprite we can really notice the emplacements of the marks on his face )
3- His capacity of teleportation and his way to go out of rooms similar to Papyrus’s
Nothing to add, except, of course, the fact that we take into account Gaster’s supposed relation with sans and Papyrus. (as sons, or sans as an assistant of him as a scientist.)
4- Rouxls’s taste for calligraphy and puzzles.
In the shop, when we ask Rouxls about him, eventually he will talk about his passion. Two of them are calligraphy and puzzles. Still, it’s quite stunning when we know about sans and Papyrus.
Also, Rouxls is quite a humorous character. Like sans and Papyrus who are the characters who are the most represented by their humor.
5 - Which brings us to Entry 17
“Darker, darker, yet darker, the darkness keeps growing, shadows cutting deeper...” Gaster maybe knows about the Dark World? Maybe this sentence of Entry 17 speaks about this world?
Maybe RK is Gaster, who was transported to the Dark World after his experiment? Maybe that explains why his appearance would be so complete in the Dark World. Maybe that explains why he became a subject of the king so fast? Maybe that explains why he’s not afraid of the king,etc...
6 - His use of the vocabulary of hands
“Beware of the man who speaks in hands” --> Rouxls : “on the other hand” ; “a fistful” , etc..
7 - The sounds in his theme soundtrack really sound like G’s voice (as it’s heard when you make a call on the cellphone in DR)
X
So many similarities with Gaster/The Mystery Man, is it really a coincidence?
probably yes.
