Book 1: Normal Type | Chapter Fifty-Seven: Smuggler and Alien
It was Spirits Night and it was Teddy’s turn with Zera for this holiday in which you were encouraged to dress up in costumes and tell ghost stories. Teddy had them do a themed costume this year, he was a smuggler and Zera was the alien had found on his adventures! Zera loved holidays with her dad because they always made it so much fun! They ate too much candy, watched movies that were maybe too scary for Zera, and giggled all night long!

Book 1: Normal Type | Chapter Fifty-Four: Young and Hip
As Teddy and Jolene’s relationship was heating up, she was coaxing him out of his comfort zone. On weeks that he had Zera, they would go on dates as the three of them to family-friendly locations, but on weeks when he didn’t have Zera, she would drag him out to rave parties and lounges filled with people 10 years younger than him.
He always felt sweaty and queasy at first, but once Jolene was done dancing and would come to sit on his isolated couch or chair with him, they would make out for the rest of the date. He liked this part the best.

Book 1: Normal Type | Chapter Twenty-Nine: Can’t We All Just Get Along?
Teddy was doing his best to keep any and all stress away from Violet while she was on bed rest, but for some reason Cutie and Samson were determined to cause issues every single day. They were fighting like cats and dogs - literally - and Teddy couldn’t figure out why. Were they sensing his nervousness about the baby? Were they worried they were going to be repalced when the baby came? He tried to comfort them and reassure them separately, giving them as much attention as he could. But the majority of his attention was taken by Violet, who needed him for everything and had him going out at ridiculous hours of the morning to satisfy her cravings. Some of her requests were very strange and had him driving an hour there and back, and then when he got home her craving would apparently be gone and she wouldn’t eat what he had just traveled two hours for. The more cynical side of himself wondered if she wasn’t just making up excuses to get him out of the house…

Book 1: Normal Type | Chapter Twenty-Four: Attached
After so much fretting and wondering, Violet finally got her answer. Her baby was healthy, a girl, and her parents were indeed Violet and Teddy Poche. With a huge weight lifted from her shoulders - and therefore permission to herself that she could go back to her usual habits of cheating on her husband - she was a completely different person for the rest of her pregnancy. Teddy threw himself further into their relationship and preparations for their daughter in order to help heal his grief over the loss of his sister.
The result of these two mixtures was a closer than ever couple, they spent every minute possible together. Teddy took off work for every doctor’s appointment and would drop everything at Violet’s call, even if it was just to kill a bug. Violet went to Teddy with anything and everything in her pregnancy, it wasn’t the first time she had been pregnant of course, but this would be Teddy’s first child and she wanted him to experience everything. Every kick, twitch, roll, and whatever else. They had a plethora of ultrasounds stuck to the fridge and spent every weekend working on the nursery bit by bit.

Book 1: Normal Type | Chapter Twenty-Two: Morning Sickness
Teddy wasn’t sure what it was, but now that they were married, Violet’s…needs were off the charts. He hadn’t expected her to be so voracious, and he didn’t dislike it, but he wasn’t always feeling like he could keep up with her. And he didn’t even know about the side pieces she was seeing for exactly the same thing. Despite their remarkable rate of activity, they were both very surprised to find that less than a year after their wedding day, Violet was pregnant.
Violet immediately ordered a series of genetic tests, as she was 36 and therefore a bit old to be having children, it made sense, for the safety of the child. She had her ulterior motives as well, of course, to make sure she knew exactly which father was the father. She waited with fierce anticipation for the results.

Book 1: Normal Type | Chapter Eighteen: Moving In
Over the next few months, along with the wedding planning, Teddy and Violet were also making arrangements to move in together. They didn’t have to move far, since Teddy was just going to move what necessary furniture he had to Violet’s house next door, and she already had almost everything they needed.
Once he had moved in, Violet found it strange to sleep in bed with him, even though they were engaged. She wasn’t able to sleep that first night at all, instead, she worked on some articles for her column, she worked as an art critic for the local news. The next day, exhausted from lack of sleep, while Teddy was at work, she was surprised to hear the doorbell ring. She was even more surprised to see Lilli, Teddy’s sister on her doorstep.
His siblings each had keys to his old house, but she didn’t want all of them coming into her house unannounced whenever they wanted - this situation was something that everyone respected, even Bliss.
“Oh, hello Lilli, it’s nice to see you, Teddy has left for work already,” Violet began, but Lilli quickly shook her head in the negative.
“I’m not here for Teddy, I know he has to be at work super early, I wanted to give you this engagement gift personally, I made it myself!” Lilli said. “I know engagement gifts are typically for both people engaged, but I wanted you to have something special just for you, as a welcome to our family, I am so excited to have another sister.”
Violet was taken aback by the younger woman’s sincerity and found her heart warmed, she opened the gift to reveal a handmade bracelet with individual letters that spelled out “Poche”. Tears filled her eyes at such a gesture and she gave Lilli a big hug, this was just what she needed.

Book 1: Normal Type | Chapter Sixteen: Graduation
It was finally time for Teddy to get his justified reward for all of his hard work and time spent studying. The essays, the projects, the late nights, all came down to this. Not only was he graduating, he was graduating with a perfect record! He’d never had a perfect record before! He’d gotten an A+ in every class he had taken at university, which got him an honorable position.
As he stood outside the building where the ceremony would be held, he excitedly met his classmates from the past four years. “Mitchell, I’m so glad we finally made it!”
“Yeah, we did, buddy!” Mitchell happily returned Teddy’s high five. As Teddy turned to talk to someone else, Mitchell turned his head to his friend and asked. “Do we know that guy?”
Luckily, even if Teddy had heard it, he was far too happy to let that bring down his mood. The graduation ceremony was shorter than he had expected, and he didn’t actually receive a real diploma, that would come in the mail later, but he looked very handsome out there, according to Violet.
The new couple decided to celebrate at a packed bar near the university and were surprised to run into Bliss there. She had already clearly been there for a while, based on the way she was slightly tilting back and forth in her chair and the way her words came out like half of her tongue was numb. Teddy and Violet tried to say hello, but she didn’t seem to want anything to do with them, so they just pretended like she wasn’t there at all.
“Now that I’ve graduated and can get a real job, I’ll be able to afford a better place and be more stable, I can finally quit my retail job!” Teddy said excitedly, imagining the future, and perhaps going a bit too far. “Once I’ve saved up enough money, I can buy you a proper ring, and then we can get married.”
As soon as the words were out of his mouth he realized his mistake, Violet had always said she would never get married again, after her experience with her ex-husband. Teddy had planned on easing her into the idea with him, after all, it had taken him a year to get her to agree to be his girlfriend, and now he had potentially just ruined the whole plan.
Before she could respond, Bliss was suddenly in the middle of their conversation. “No way the two of you get married, she’s way too old for you and horrible, she’s a hag, Teddy,” Bliss was interrupted by her own burp before she continued. “You’ve got to get rid of her, she hates animals and she’s stinky, like really stinky.”
This reaction seemed to spur Violet on, who scoffed and pulled Teddy away from his sister. “I think getting married…in the next few years…would be a grand idea, Teddy, I don’t see any other ending with you.”
Teddy could hardly believe his ears, in fact, they were burning red with joy. He’d completely forgotten about Bliss, who hadn’t bothered to follow them and just ordered another drink.

Book 1: Normal Type | Chapter Fifteen: Girlfriend?
Teddy was hard at work each and every day, between his job, his classes, his siblings, his cat, and his kind of girlfriend, Violet, he just didn’t have time for anything else. It had been a few weeks since the topic of becoming an official couple had been seriously broached, and Teddy was delighted to see Violet using her house key for the first time. She entered while he was working on some classwork, glaring at the way he allowed Samson to sit on the table, but knowing well enough to leave it alone.
She ended up staying the night that night, Teddy readily sleeping on the couch with Samson. She didn’t say anything about why she was visiting and didn’t seem to want to talk about anything too deep. Perhaps she just wanted some company, Teddy surmised, and was the perfect host and kind of boyfriend he could be. However, as the hours went on, he became more and more annoyed with her small talk.
The next morning, he decided to be more direct, he fixed them pancakes, and sitting at the table, he found the courage to ask. “Violet, I think it’s time for us to seriously take the next step, not just talk about it. Will you be my girlfriend?”
Violet sat for a few long moments but then smiled. “Yes, Teddy, I think I would love that.”
Elated to have finally passed that hurdle, Teddy presented her with a gift he’d been waiting to give her, a heart-shaped plush he had crocheted, with the initial T on one side and the initial V on the other. She held it close to her own heart and thanked him before she had to leave for work. She promised to be back over as soon as she could.
Teddy felt like he was on cloud nine all day, and after he finished his classwork, he baked a plate of brownies for them to share, preparing a speech about how the brownies represented their sweet love for each other. He changed his relationship status on every social media platform he owned and relished in all the happy reactions it got. He called Stan on the phone personally and talked about it, Teddy was too excited to hear the resignment in his brother’s voice as he broke the news. He didn’t hear from Bliss, but Lilli texted him saying how she was excited for him.
He waited, filling his time with any and every activity he could think of, as the brownies got cold. He texted Violet a few times for updates but never heard back. He stayed up well past midnight, but Violet never came.
She called him the next day to explain that she had ended up staying at work to finish a project and apologize.

Book 1: Normal Type | Chapter Thirteen: Comforting Violet
Things continued to progress between Violet and Teddy, although not in the way that Teddy had hoped. He’d been prepared since the beginning to take it slowly with her, but they’d been “talking” and going on dates for nearly a year without making anything official. Whenever Violet needed him, he was there, but it didn’t seem to always work the other way around. They’d gotten into more than a few arguments about this, but always when they were on the edge of breaking up, Violet would flip the script on him and burst into tears or something similar. He wanted things to work out for them, so he always apologized in the end.
It was during one of these periods in which they were arguing a lot that Teddy got a call from Violet, who was sobbing on the other end of the phone. “I can’t believe she’s really gone.” She didn’t offer much explanation other than that, so Teddy rushed immediately next door to see what he could do to comfort her.
Violet met him on the front lawn and sobbed into his shirt about how much she was going to miss “her”. Teddy didn’t want to seem insensitive, so he pretended to know what was going on and simply comforted her, consoling her.
“Please, Violet, if there’s anything I can do for you, I know this is a hard loss for you, just tell me what I can do and I’ll do it, anything for you,” Teddy whispered comfortingly into her ear.
“I think I know the perfect way to honor her memory,” Violet pulled her face away from his neck to look at him, makeup smeared and eyes cloudy with more tears. “A movie marathon.”
“Oh, uhm, okay, yeah, we can have a movie marathon.” Teddy was even more confused now than before.
“We’ll watch all her classics, I have them all, and we can have popcorn and pretend like she’s still here with us.”
The realization dawned on him slowly, the person he’d been consoling her about wasn’t a friend or a family member, it was Judith Ward, a famous actress, who had passed away the night before. All of this mourning was because of an actress Violet had never met in person? Teddy had been through his fair share of sadness when other actors or famous people had passed, but nothing so inconsolable as this.
“Please, Teddy, just miss one day of work for me, I don’t want to be alone right now.”
How could he deny her, after promising to do anything for her? That had been when he had thought it had been a family member or a close friend who had passed, sure, but who was he to judge Violet’s emotions, which were so often all over the place? So he skipped classes for the day and called into work so that he could sit on Violet’s couch with her and watch Judith’s old classics.
They were each and everyone incredibly boring, with no plot, just pretty faces and one-liners. But, he did get to cuddle with Violet for the entire day, they’d never spent so much time uninterrupted together before, and he felt like this was a great step forward for them.

Book 1: Normal Type | Chapter 2: Save Me Samson
Teddy Poche was amazed at how lonely he felt after just an hour in his new home. He barely touched anything at all, just sat on his couch - well a loveseat really - afraid to touch anything in case it would break. It didn’t even feel like his house. It felt like he was in someone else’s home, like he had broken in and was just waiting to get caught. He sat in the silence, listening for the familiar sounds of Stan’s guitar as he practiced his music or wrote a new song, listening for Bliss to suddenly lose her mind over some tiny thing and start yelling or crying or laughing, listening for the soft yet distinct sound of Lilli flipping the page of a book or the scribble of her pen on a notepad. But there was nothing.
Finally, he couldn’t take it anymore, so he went into town with exactly two things on his shopping list. A radio and a cat. He didn’t actually write those things down, he could remember two things, and if anyone saw a list with just those two items it might raise some suspicions. He bought the radio first at the local technology store. Then he went to visit his sister Bliss at the San Myshuno animal shelter where she worked.
At first she eyed him suspiciously, assuming he was there to check up on her for some reason. Had Lilli called him? She was always overly worried about things and always running to Teddy for help. Instead she was pleasantly surprised when he told her - somewhat sheepishly - that he wanted to rescue a cat. In fact, as soon as she heard it, her entire mood changed. It was like she was a different person. She excitedly introduced him to the group of kittens and grown cats the shelter had.
For some reason even the friendlier of the cats weren’t very nice to Teddy. His sister was more than a little worried that he wouldn’t be able to find a good match at the shelter, which made her feel bad as both a shelter worker and a sister. She had one last idea, a fairly new kitten that had been introduced to the shelter, an oriental shorthair they had called Samson. He hadn’t even been there long enough to get neutered, although he was up to date on his shots. She didn’t have a lot of hope for him though, because so far Samson, while a perfectly polite kitty, didn’t seem interested enough in any humans or other animals to be ready for adoption.
Samson eyed Teddy cautiously as the man held forward his hand for the kitty to sniff. He seemed determined to be as aloof with Teddy as he had been with everyone else and Bliss’s shoulder’s slumped. Then, with almost no warning at all, Samson graciously tucked his head under Teddy’s palm, allowing him to have all the pets that no one else could seem to get out of the kitten. Teddy was ecstatic of course, but that still didn’t compare to the bright smile - and literal jumping for joy - that Bliss shared. Teddy didn’t care that Samson wasn’t yet neutered, he happily paid the 100 simoleon adoption fee and took Samson home with him.

Book 1: Normal Type | Chapter 10: Blossoming (2/2)
“Hey, that’s alright, everyone has some things they don’t want to mention in the first few months of dating someone,” Teddy tried to be reassuring, but he was really curious as to what this secret was now.
“I wouldn’t really call this dating,” Violet started, but quickly changed the subject. “But anyway, the thing is, I’ve been married before.”
“Oh, okay.” He wasn’t sure why that would be a secret, she was older and she was beautiful, he would have assumed she’d been in lots of relationships before. He also wasn’t sure what they were doing if they weren’t dating. Sure they hadn’t used specific labels yet, but that was normal in this modern day.
“I was married to Oliver for eleven years, at first I thought everything was great, it was totally normal. We had two beautiful children, Felicity and Rowan. But then apparently I got to be ‘too much’ and my moods were causing tension, although Felicity and Rowan never seemed to mind or have a problem with me as a mother.”
As she spoke about her family, she continued to drink, pausing to ask the bartender for more. Teddy started to drink his wine as well, trying to process the fact that Violet had children. An ex-husband he could handle, children with a different father would be - different. But not impossible. He’d always wanted a large family, so taking on two step children right from the beginning just meant there was more at the start.
Violet finished another large sip of her new wine. “It all became more clear when, after a year of being divorced, Oliver married again. His name is Leo, he’s not even 30 yet, so I started thinking about our age difference you know?” she seemed to be switching subjects a lot, perhaps it was the alcohol. “And I thought it would be fitting for me to see someone even younger than that.”
“Well…that’s not the only reason you’re seeing me…right?” Teddy asked cautiously.
Suddenly Violet blushed and she put both of her hands on his face to cup his cheeks. “Oh, no no my teddy bear, not at all. It’s just that at first I felt guilty for our age difference, but now I don’t because if Oliver can do it, then why can’t I?”
Teddy carefully clasped her hands in his to pull them away from his face, wondering how many glasses she’d had before he’d arrived. “Yeah, I think that’s alright.”
“You know last year they even adopted a daughter, he keeps my kids full time and not only gets married but then adopts a third child?” Violet said as if it were scandalous. “I feel so sorry for my kids, they only get to see me on the weekends, and during the week they have to deal with a step-dad and some little rugrat. I wouldn’t be surprised if Oliver is giving more love and attention to his new child rather than paying any attention to ours, although Felicity and Rowan would never complain about him to me.” She said that last part with derision, as if she’d been trying to coax her children into saying bad things about her ex-husband. Although Teddy knew that couldn’t be true, she was too sweet for that, it was probably just the alcohol talking again.
“Anyway, I just wanted to tell you because…well because even though it’s been two years since the divorce, I still don’t know if I’ll be ready to commit to someone like that again for a while. I like you, a lot, but sometimes I might get overwhelmed and I might try to run away, but you’ve got to be responsible for keeping me, because I want to stay, I really do, but my fear might get the better of me sometimes. Can you do that, teddy bear?”
“Oh, well of course, I want to be with you too, I’m sorry that he hurt you, I’ll never do that to you.”
Violet lifted her hand back to his face and patted him on the cheek. “I know you won’t, Teddy, I know.” (2/2)

Book 1: Normal Type | Chapter 10: Blossoming
Teddy Poche was in love, and who could blame him? He’d never had someone actually interested in him before, it was pretty normal to become attached to the first semi-serious relationship he had. Every day when he woke up he was thinking of Violet and every night when he went to sleep he was thinking of Violet. And whenever he ate breakfast, lunch or dinner he was thinking of Violet. And while he did his university homework he was thinking of Violet. He was completely obsessed smitten. When Blossom Day came around he asked her on a date to the local community garden to celebrate.
Once they arrived, he presented her with the traditional gift of Blossom Day, a daisy, it represented new love. She accepted it with a smile and told him that he was so sweet. Together they helped tend to the garden by watering the plants and checking to make sure the soil was healthy. They didn’t harvest anything, instead leaving that for those more in need or simply to see the plants continue to grow on their own and add to the beauty of the earth.
After they were done, Violet surprised Teddy by coming over and giving him a very deep, very serious kiss. It was different from their first kiss, partly because it was Violet initiating it rather than Teddy. But also, it was much more passionate. She positioned her hands behind his shoulder blades to bring him closer to her, pressing their bodies together, closer than they had ever been. It didn’t end quickly either, it was at least a full minute of making out right there in front of everyone. Apparently Violet didn’t care, so neither did Teddy. She moved her hands into his thick, dark hair, grabbing the nape of his neck to continue to pull him in, not giving him a choice but to kiss her back.
She pulled away from his lips just at the moment he was really getting the hang of it, and while their lips were just centimeters away, she said. “Thanks for a great date.” As she spoke, her lips were so close that he could feel them moving against his still. He tried to go back in to continue, but she pulled fully away and walked off, giving a little wave on her way to the sidewalk. Teddy was left, confused, aroused, happy, and alone. He watched her go, wondering just what in the world had happened, but very satisfied at the same time.
A few days passed, Teddy had been texting Violet things like “good morning, beautiful,” and just filling her in about his day or sending her memes he thought she would find funny. But she never texted back. Just as he was starting to get worried he was being ghosted by his next door neighbor, she called and asked if he wanted to go on a date with her. Of course he said yes, completely forgetting and forgiving her lack of communication immediately.
They met at a bar he had never been to before and she was already waiting at the bar with a glass of white wine for them both. As he sat down he could tell that her mood was not as happy as he would have expected.
“What’s wrong?” he asked, placing a hand on her knee.
“There’s a secret I’ve been keeping from you,” she said, then taking a big drink from her wine, which was already halfway gone anyway. “And I don’t know how to tell you.” (1/2)

Book 1: Normal Type | Chapter 7: Sleepover (1/2)
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Book 1: Normal Type | Chapter 7: Sleepover (1/2)
Teddy was getting quickly burnt out after a few months of school. He enjoyed his classes well enough but he still felt like they weren’t related much to administration in a school setting. He had two jobs now, and sometimes it was really difficult to wake up in the mornings to go straight to work. Then as soon as he got home he would have just enough time to feed Samson and feed himself before his first class. Then after classes were over he would go straight to his job at the retail store. When he finally got home he didn’t have the energy to do much other than shower and sleep. He felt the most bad for little Samson, who wasn’t getting enough attention and ate through his food so quickly it was hard to keep up.
He couldn’t quit either of his jobs though because that was the only way he could pay the bills, and he couldn't quit university either obviously. Once he was finished with his four year degree he could relax, then he would be bringing in some more money and he wouldn’t be busy as much. What upset him the most about his busy days wasn’t the exhaustion or the hunger, but he was missing his family. His siblings would often call him during the day or try to come by the house, but he always had to tell them he was busy and couldn’t talk. He’d never done that before - he’d always put his family before himself. He knew it was right, because he needed to take care of himself and his siblings were all grown and capable of taking care of themselves now - but at the same time he missed spending time with them and doing things for them.
One day, his sister Lilli came by and before he could tell her he was too tired to hang out, she told him that a storm had hit San Myshuno the night before. All of the fixtures in her and Bliss’s apartment were leaking water and it was unlivable right now. She pleaded with him to come and see if he could do anything. That sad look in her eyes and his own disappointment in himself for not spending enough time with his sisters quickly diverted his attention and he agreed to take a look. Not being handy at all didn’t help, and all he could really do was call a proper repair man and get them an appointment scheduled for the next day.
“Tomorrow?’ Lilli asked with worry. “But what about tonight? We can’t sleep here with all of this going on.”
“Not a big deal,” Bliss shrugged, already packing some things into a bag. “There’s a nice courtyard here, we can just sleep out there.”
“Sleep outside? You can’t be serious, right?” Lilli asked.
“Of course I am, I’ve actually been wanting to do it anyway, now I have an excuse!” Indeed the older twin had a certain sparkle of excitement in her eyes.
“You can always come stay with me,” Teddy offered, suddenly realizing how much he would love to have his sister around even if just for a night. “You can sleep in my bed and I’ll manage on the couch.”
Lilli eagerly accepted and packed her things, while Bliss was determined to sleep under the stars. Plus, and she would never have said this out loud, but weren’t sleepovers for little kids or something? (1/2)

Book 1: Normal Type | Chapter Six: Accepted!
Teddy had been checking his university application status every morning for a month, and finally, one day it showed that it wasn’t processing anymore! He’d been accepted to Foxbury’s Distinguished Economics program and the acceptance letter even said they were eagerly awaiting his arrival on the first day of school! Was that just part of the standard letter they sent out to everyone? Maybe…
He wouldn’t let anything bring down his mood though and went out to buy the proper textbooks and pick up his homework immediately. Instead of spending his day doing odd jobs, he completely dedicated himself to getting ready for the start of the year. Both Lilli and Stan came by during the day to hang out, but he turned them away, saying it was more important for him to get started on his coursework. He hadn’t even been to a single class but he was already getting a headstart on his final essay.
Teddy didn’t talk to anyone for the entire day, not even Samson, who regularly jumped onto the dining table for some attention. He wasn’t really sure why he had to enroll in the economics program to get a job in the administrator career track, but perhaps administering a school was like running a business? Part of him hoped not because that seemed unfair to the students, but the other part of him hoped it was true, because otherwise these classes were completely irrelevant to him.
When he enrolled he didn’t have enough money to pay the tuition fees, so he had to take out some student loans, but it couldn’t be that bad right? Now that he had his class schedule though he saw that he only had afternoon classes, so he could keep his job at the retail store in the evenings. However, with his concerns about money, he decided to get a second job as a fisherman in the mornings. Did he know anything about fishing? No. But it was early in the morning so he would teach himself as much as he could.

Book 1: Normal Type | Chapter Five: Knitting Really is Nifty
Over the next few weeks, whenever he couldn’t pick up a shift at work, Teddy would pick up some odd jobs. He was starting to actually enjoy them, some of them paid really well, better than his retail job at least. The only problem was that you really never knew what you were going to get with this odd jobs website. He had learned what kinds of requests were better than others, and that some jobs were way too far away for him to take.
He would do yard work, trim trees, mow lawns, weed edges - he hated those jobs, he was not built for manual labor. He would do some pet sitting, walk dogs, water plants, clean litter boxes - this one wasn’t great either because as much as Samson liked him, other animals didn’t seem to be a big fan of him. He would clean houses, scrub toilets, sweep floors, throw out trash - he also hated this one because usually the people not paying a maid service to do this kind of work were people who had really dirty spaces. He even helped one person build some furniture, this one also went horribly because he had no idea how to build much of anything.
The only job Teddy really liked was the personal shopping one, he always got along with older people, and he was starting to make a name for himself as the go-to personal shopper. Maybe it was his experience in retail that helped him navigate stores faster than others, or maybe it was the way he stayed and unloaded the groceries for his customers, and then used the extra time to talk and get to know them. Whatever the reason he was making a lot of tips in the way of yarn, knick knacks, and collectible coins. He also seemed to be friends with a lot of old people.
One of his customers had taught him how to crochet and when he got home one night he determined that he was way too tired to go out and wanted to try his hand at knitting on his own. He sat on his loveseat, pulled out his new needles and mismatched yarn, turned the TV onto an old scary movie, and crocheted his way into the evening. He really enjoyed the repetitive motions of the needles and how he could do it easily while watching TV and talking to Samson - who was definitely listening attentively and not sleeping. This could definitely be his new hobby! And perhaps he could learn how to use plopsy to make more extra cash as well…

Aspiration: Successful Lineage
Teddy Poche is the oldest of the four Poche siblings. Even though they were all relatively close in age Teddy quickly took the spot of the older, dependable brother. He was always the one his parents and siblings could depend on to do the right thing, be patient, and make an effort to put himself in everyone else’s shoes. He helped set the table, washed the dishes, took out the trash, basically did all his chores and all the chores of his siblings.
In school he got As and Bs, he wasn’t the smartest kid in class, or the funniest, or the “most” of anything really. Although he worked hard and was always kind and helpful, people just didn’t really notice him. There was always someone that was better than him at something. He was just the boy next door, nothing more and nothing less. It didn’t really bother him until he got older, he looked forward to a future where he could one day overcome this curse and find someone who loved him and thought he was the best for them. He’d never been the best at anything before.
Unfortunately, on the cusp of his independence, the night of his high school graduation, his parents perished in a car accident on the way there. He didn’t even know until after the ceremony. His siblings were all in high school but he still felt obligated to take care of them. So he put his life on hold to continue being that dependable and responsible older brother. He got a job at a retail store and picked up as many shifts as he could to provide and give his siblings as normal of a high school experience as they could have.
Finally, his brother Stan married and moved in with his wife Angela Pleasant (now Poche). And his sisters, the twins Bliss and Lilli moved out on their own to pursue their own life goals. He sold his childhood home to finance their futures and kept just a little for himself to buy a small home in a new town, Newcrest, where he could start over and start working on his own dreams and aspirations. Hopefully.
The name Teddy comes from the normal type Pokémon Teddiursa
