okay i know in the grand scheme of things it’s been about 5 minutes since i got into spn and about 4.5 seconds since i started following spn blogs on tumblr but i just want 2 share some stuff re: what i would have liked to happen in my ideal ending. spoilers below.
number 1, sam and eileen endgame. after losing her in 15x18 and trying so hard to hold it together, sam’s quite obviously devvo’d. man’s a mess but he can’t let himself fall apart. 15x19 happens and everyone chuck disintegrated faster than communion wafers comes back and the FIRST thing sam does? calls eileen. high tails it out of there. speed limits who? there’s a heartwarming moment. maybe an ‘i love you’ or maybe not but it’s touching and heart wrenching and everyone cries and it’s nice. there you go, sam winchester. not only did you help save the world, but you got a happy ending in the process. eileen moves into the mol bunker. don’t @ me. she’s also great with miracle. and, in the long run, kids.
number 2, deancas. my whole thing is, if they didn’t want canon deancas ending, why have cas confess? like i get the empty deal and i understand ‘happiness isn’t in the having, it’s in just being. it’s in just saying it’ but... if u didn’t want people to swarm on the possibility of deancas... why include it at all? especially for it to never be mentioned again. for cas, a man/angel/being of celestial intent that had spent like... 12(?) years at this point in sam and dean’s lives. you’re gonna tell me they just... let him sacrifice himself and then dip? ok. seems we have been watching different shows. or the same show from different perspectives. so, hear me out. dean says it back. maybe not in as many words or he pulls a hans solo ‘i know’. okay so they beat the shit out of The Literal Abrahamic God later to supercharge jack faster than shotgunning three monster energy mango locos ever could and leave chuck belly up in the mud like the invertebrate he proved himself to be and jack is Thee God now and dean just straight up asks. give that to me. give me the “please, jack.” and dean, so close to breaking, holding himself together with nothing but pure strength of will and residual adrenaline. give me jack’s reluctance, give me his admission of not wanting to mutate into the same megalomaniac chuck proved himself to be,using the winchesters as chess pieces in his own game. give me his humanity. the parts he inherited from kelly. give me his humanity and his grief and his loss and—castiel was his father, for fucks sake! he lost a father and a mother and he’s about to lose the only family he ever had. yes, he’ll be omnipresent—a perk of the job—but he’ll never be there in the way they want. so let him do this. there’s like a whole genesis parallel, you know all ‘the lord said let there be light, and there was light’ only not as on the nose as that. jack’s one selfish act before he himself, combined with amara, ascends. he does his whole speech. i’ll be in every drop of falling rain etc etc and then he dips. only, he’s gone and when dean turns around. cas is there. boom.
there’s no kiss. no explicit ‘hello look at this confirmed gay angel and his human hunter ??sexual friend making out’ because that too much too fast. dean has spent the past 15 seasons trying to unfuck himself from the damage john winchester left behind (the nun hunt on his 17th birthday? lebanon? i will meet john winchester in the pit.) and as close as he is to finally just allowing himself to be himself, he’s not quite there yet. but the relief on his face. the—i’m gonna say it—love in his expression. cas’s confession clearly affected him, just look at 15x18. maybe dean doesn’t know what that means yet. maybe he does. but there’s a hug. an embrace. one of those that says ‘i don’t know why or how i like you, fruity little angel man, but i do and i’m not letting go’. it lasts a beat too long. maybe there’s tears. i’ll leave that up to jackles jacting joices.
number 3, michael sacrifices himself to save adam. OKAY SO THE WHOLE MICHAEL STORYLINE IN 15x19? BULLSHIT. especially with the adamichael scene in 15x08? where it is canonically confirmed that, after spending a real life decade (which is OVER ONE THOUSAND YEARS in hell time. 4 months = 40 years so 10 years or 120 months = 1200 years) trapped in the cage together, they became friends and shared control of the vessel. michael considered adam his guide on earth. michael. MICHAEL. M I C H A E L. seeing how spn painted him as one of, if not, THE most powerful and fearsome angel? man’s whipped. and then he loses adam when chuck has his thanos snap moment. imagine sharing a vessel with someone for twelve. hundred. years. and then being completely alone in a world you don’t know. how maddening for there to be only silence in your head. the fact that they then rammed this bs of him being jealous of lucifer for being ‘daddy’s favourite’ was exactly that. bullshit. no no no, my friends. michael was playing his own game; crossing the winchesters for chuck but actually, crossing chuck for his own gain. he learns of the winchesters plan to utilise the fact that jack is the power hungry equivalent of a shamwow and uses that to his own gain. i haven’t figured out the particulars but when chuck beats the shit out of michael, he kills the angel but leaves the vessel (think like jack at the end of s14). michael the winchesters think michael died a snivelling god fearing soldier. and then, when jack does his whole thing, up wakes adam. the winchesters take him in and explain what went down when he, you know. and adam lets them know that no, michaels not like that etc etc he did it for me etc he did it to save me. michael’s fall was imperative to the destruction of god. and, for that, he will always be remembered. adam’s not a hunter, but he stays at the bunker anyway. he has nowhere else to go.
number 4, episode 15x20. what do you mean dean and sam both die? not in this universe i carry inside my head they don’t! this episode is just a bunch of scenes from throughout the years. you might think it boring but i think it’s great and this is my post so u can’t tell me what 2 do. dean opens up a bar for hunters a la 14x10 and has pictures on all the walls of all the fallen hunters and friends that have helped them throughout the years. you want a picture on the wall for a friend you lost? sure! just bring a photo and tack it on up there. out of sight, kept to the wall of the office, they keep pictures of the non-humans that helped. it’s private. a reminder. sam and eileen stop by a couple times a week if they can. jody and donna make the rounds with the girls too if work allows. or they come on their own. the girls are old enough to take care of themselves now. claire pops in when she can, always bringing a present for cas (despite him reprimanding her for doing so) and dean is always happy to see her. she doesn’t text enough.
sam sets up the bunker as a base for hunters again, trying to get a system up and running like before where hunters can check in and get help and use the weapons and resources they have for cases.
they don’t deal with heaven anymore. they haven’t seen jack since he disappeared but they also haven’t had any angel troubles either. maybe it’s because there are so few. castiel helps a lot as he still has his grace—although he’s still unable to teleport and he seems to be aging, trapped in some kind of space between. not angel and not human and definitely not nephilim. he’s powerful and powerless at the same time. he doesn’t complain about this, knowing what it means. it’s a kindness.
rowena is also on side, mostly, although she has her own gain in mind always. they have the stray demon that pops up every now and again but she– uh... prefers to make an example of them using her own methods. sam has learned not to question it. she teases him incessantly, as usual.
also, stay at home dad sam. eileen jumps back into hunting. they’ve had conversations—arguments—about it before. he doesn’t want to turn into his father, driven mad chasing mary’s ghost if something were to happen. she refuses to even entertain the thought of that. yelling “you are a lot of things, sam winchester. your father is not one of them.” and at the end of the day, there’s a mutual trust there and he knows she won’t put herself in unnecessary risk, and he 100% roped dean in to jumping on as backup if and when she needs it. the kid(s) are raised love and cherished and surrounded by family. sam also learns how to sign one handed with a baby on his hip. it’s adorable.
anyway we never have to find out about heaven because no one dies thank you for coming to my ted talk.

Key Elements That Must Be in Your Sunscreen
Secure Yourself From The Sun's Harmful Rays
Memorial Day is 2 weeks away. Did you understand that "Don't Fry Day" is the Friday before? Yep, today was designated by the National Council on Skin Cancer Cells Prevention due to the fact that Memorial Day is frequently the very first day of the warm weather condition season where individuals obtain a dreadful sunburn-- a shed that causes permanent skin damages that remains for your entire lifetime.
Did you understand that getting 5 or more sunburns can increase your danger of obtaining melanoma, one of the most lethal kind of skin cancer cells?
Yep, unfortunate job-security for skin specialists. Don't let that be you or the people
you like. Get your sunlight protection" equipment" in order now, consisting of the ideal sunscreen. I'm a medical skin specialist who has actually practiced for over thirty years. I have actually seen who gets skin cancer cells, what sun-protection method works-- and also which have allow my patients down. I have actually discovered exactly how to assist my diverse group of patients to practice great sunlight defense in a manner that fits their way of life, values as well as budget plan. No matter exactly how severe their sun direct exposure is or exactly how sensitive their skin is to UV or intolerant it is to products, it's feasible to take pleasure in warm summertime climate without a tan or a shed. My patients have actually confirmed it is possible.
My suggestions right here are based on what clients have shown me throughout my career.
First, get going with your sunlight defense method currently. Do not wait up until the last minute. You require your strategy prepared as well as proven before the summertime sunlight gets extreme as well as your outside play plans are in full swing.
As a practicing dermatologist, here's what I suggest for sun block and sun security:
Use Only The Best Sun block.
Your sun block needs to provide an SPF 30, at minimum, as well as be identified "Broad Range." You will check out that SPF 15 suffices. I recommend 30, and you will certainly see why later on.
Did you recognize that not all sun blocks are proficient at blocking all the harmful rays? This is especially real for the UV ray called UVA. In the past, sun blocks supplied almost no UVA security, making this a source of debate and also complication. Here is the tale:
UVB is the extreme summertime mid-day ray that swiftly melts your skin. SPF initially was a procedure of how well UVB was blocked. You might stay outdoors in the sunlight much longer without burning-- as well as obtain whole lots and also whole lots more UVA than you would certainly have otherwise. You believed you were secure since you did not shed. Little did people know that the UVA was loading their skin with lots of postponed damage that appears later in life.
Bottom line, you MUST see "Broad Spectrum" noted on the tag.
You Should Put On Enough Sun Block to Obtain Sufficient Security.
Researches have shown for many years that individuals practically never ever do. There are a lot of reasons. Beginning with an SPF 30, as well as you have extra defense. But it possibly ends up being even more like an SPF 15 if you are not using and reapplying "as guided." Just beware, and also pay attention to how much you use. As well as beware to reapply product on all your revealed skin-- as well as begin with SPF 30!
Here is the story:
SPFs are checked and ranked at about 1 oz. (a shot glass), the quantity covering the average-adult human body. That's 2 mg./ cm2 of surface; that number is possibly useless to you virtually. The factor is, the typical adult is around 1.8 (female) to 2 meters settled of skin surface, 1 shot glass if you are in a swimming suit.
However, just how much sunscreen do you need to relate to your face during the typical day when you are not using a swimming suit?
Based upon "the Wallace Regulation of nines for body surface," your head is 9% of that; the "anterior head" (head and neck) is 4.5%. Every person's composition differs, however this is about the portion of area of your face as well as neck, minus your hair on that front half of your "head."
I have actually estimated this throughout the years at about 4% of your total body surface area, if you are simply putting day-to-day sun block on the front of your head and also neck, indicating your face as well as sides/front of your neck in the early morning. Hence, 4% of your 1 oz. required-application-dose, based on 1 oz. being 6 tsp., the mathematics pertains to 1/4 tsp. per face/neck/ears depending upon how much of your "head as well as neck" your hair covers.
Generally, I use less than a tsp. for my face/neck/ears/ behind my ears as well as the rear of my neck above my collar line, as well as it functions. This is what I have taught my people over the years, as well as it normally helps them, also.
The bright side is that you can evaluate your outcomes.
Are you obtaining a tan?
If so, you require to make use of even more of your item. Once again, every product has a various consistency so you may require to assess up or down based on sun tanning or darkening of freckles. Just examine this before you prepare intensive UV-exposure-- you need to understand that your technique is area on!
Put On Sun Block Each Day on Subjected Skin.
UV-rays are sly, and also unless you live in a deep dark cave, you require sunscreen each day. UVA comes via home window glass, and both UV rays jump off reflective surfaces like concrete, rocks and structures. UV damage accumulates. The body can fix a few of the damages, however not all. Even UV direct exposure below the degree to create a shed will certainly build up damages. The damages leads to creases, skin thinning, sun spot freckling, as well as skin cancer cells.
What sunlight screen ingredients offer the best broad range security?
You will see some complicated as well as contradictory details on the web right now regarding sunscreens. I've checked out a lot of it, and even I'm puzzled-- artificial insemination versus in vivo versus ex vivo testing, physical sunscreens checked in differing sizes, representation versus absorption versus scatter systems, absorption with the entire UVA-spectrum, picture security or filter combinations-- it continues. Essentially, you require a really great chemist to make an item that is tested on humans, and after that, put it to the test in real life.
I am NOT a skin care chemist. I have actually been in the privileged position to do full skin-exams for three decades and observe exactly how my clients have put sunscreen to the examination. I can inform you what has taken great treatment of my individual's skin based on these years of observation. I'm additionally truly fair-skinned as well as spend as much time outdoors in extreme sunlight direct exposure setups as I potentially can.
Here is what I find out about UV-filters (sunscreen active ingredients):.
Mineral Zinc Oxide
This is my top option. It is what I put on everyday as well as have for years. It is what a lot of my clients choose, as well. Mineral zinc oxide protects with mineral bits. The smaller sized they are, the a lot more invisible they can be on skin. Innovation has advanced and the micro-fine dimension (non-nano) is now likewise unnoticeable.
It obstructs UVB and UVA. It's protection decreases off at the end of the UVA range so I like to see a lot of zinc oxide in an item.
I've advised 5% or even more for many years and I like to see much more, ideally.
My Sheer Strength Matte as well as Spray products consist of 16.2 and 12% specifically. That is cutting edge for security that is invisible. Suntegrity 5 in 1 BB Lotion includes 20%. Raw Components Eco Tin High Efficiency consists of 23%.
118" > Zinc oxide is distinctly photostable, implying it does
not break down as it secures your skin. You still need reapplication in extreme UV-exposure setups since you will rub off product throughout normal tasks. Non-mineral filters that are fairly good UV-filters Several of these are readily available in the UNITED STATE as well as some are not. Please note that I am not a substantial fan of new" natural "filters. I like to see them work-- or not-- or cause breakouts-- or otherwise on" other individuals "prior to I advise them. I also such as the poisoning issue to get a great think and also test in real life settings. Mexoryl (Ecamsule): SX (water-soluble) and also XL (oil-soluble)
Both are patented by L'Oréal and special to their brands. These soak up UV, the molecule "gets excited" as well as releases thermal power (heat) on the outside of the skin. Ecamsule misses out on several of the UVB spectrum so it must be combined with other sunscreens (UV filters) that cover that.
It is a good UVA-blocker as well as not as breakable as earlier chemical UV filters such as avobenzone. Its visibility is stated to be difficult in a total product formulation due to the fact that it is an acid. Usual UV filters seen with it consist of avobenzone, octocrylene, titanium dioxide, and others. The U.S. and Canada enable the SX kind. Canada enables the XL form, and also the FDA is assessing its security. A few of my clients have actually used Mexoryl items, and also my scientific observation is that they operate in that I do not see sunlight burning, tanning or dimming of sunlight freckles.
Tinosorb S and also M
These are likewise large particles that may not enter skin. They are patented by BASF as well as have wide UV-protection. They do not break down with UV-exposure and can aid other UV-filters stay a lot more stable such as avobenzone (Tinosorb S) as well as octinoxate (Tinosorb M). Tinosorb M also reflects and scatters UV as well as is sort of like a particle sun block, though it is not a mineral UV-filter. Evidently, it does disappoint estrogenic impacts in vitro (test tubes). It is not accepted by the FDA yet, however it is offered in Europe.
These later 2 are fairly new but they have some favorable qualities. They are big particles and so probably do not penetrate into the skin. This is essential as some sun blocks are absorbed into the body as well as can trigger troubles, like hormone disturbance. They can likewise hurt or trigger skin allergic reactions. Mexoryl as well as Tinosorb obstruct UVA very well, as well as I am hopeful. They are fairly brand-new, however, and so post marketing adverse experiences are still a "wait as well as watch" in my point of view.
The lower line on which sunscreen filters I like:.
Zinc oxide, hands down.
I have actually had countless clients use it for several years. It has stood the examination of time for sun securing my individual's skin. It's risk-free. Zinc oxide is likewise an active ingredient utilized in skin look after lots of other applications for a truly very long time-- bear in mind diaper rash as well as zinc oxide?! It has an outstanding security record. It is non-irritating for also one of the most delicate skin. It can be formulated to be unseen yet still obstruct UV well. Yes, say goodbye to light white tinting, or white clown makeup search your skin. Search for micro-fine zinc when having unseen security is very important for you. You can likewise get good security from nano-size zinc, however my preference is micro-fine zinc oxide. The non-nano products will certainly not be unnoticeable. They still use impressive security. Many natural formulas utilize larger fragments in high-performance bases. It has the most effective coral reef security account, particularly the larger-particle-size natural formulas like Raw Components. Putting on sun defense swim tee shirts and also applying a natural formula zinc oxide sun block to the little surface of subjected skin is wise reef stewardship, in my viewpoint.
Final Tips on Sun Block:
Sunlight evasion, not sunscreen is suggested for babies 6 months old or much less. Apply sun block before you head out so it can dry out and bind much better to your skin. This will certainly aid it do better for you. Reapply it if you have actually massaged it off your skin like by changing your garments or in frisky tasks like sports. Reapply it after water get in touch with like swimming or sweating regardless of how much time it's gotten on. Do not spray sunscreen on your face. Frankly, don't spray it without scrubing it in on other areas as well. Sprays leave droplets, as well as by definition, you can anticipate skin locations in between beads or they would not be beads! Don't neglect your lip security. I do not recommend chemical sunscreens on the lips nor do I advise nano-zinc on the lips. Don't count on sun block alone. Wear sun-protective clothes as well as seek the color. Sunscreen is created to secure subjected skin-- let that be as little of an area as possible since you have excellent sun-protective garments to use during extreme UV-exposure.
Click on this link to see what I put on. Visit this site for my preferred sunlight umbrella. Go here for my truly fantastic as well as well valued sunlight hats.
Want effective however not excessively obvious sunlight security? Take a look at our summer season sun security.

CONCLUSIONS re: Kagepro Ages issue + Hibi+Hiyo’s Ages
- in 2012 (May) Konoha’s State of the World TV screens  Hibiya Amamiya was “11″: (ALONG WITH) Hiyori, who canonically has ALWAYS had the “March” birthday, as soon as she was introduced with a birthday alongside Hibiya. which would place her on the YOUNGER END of their shared school year going by the Japanese school system* * THE JAPANESE SCHOOL SYSTEM * BEGINS IN APRIL (APRIL 1ST-2ND) * AND ENDS IN LATE MARCH. * HIYORI’S BIRTHDAY IS MARCH 3RD, * EARLY MARCH. * I.E. BEFORE THE SCHOOL YEAR FINISHES. order of Japanese school year w/this all in mind: April - Japanese school year begins -> August 14th-15th - main series canon happens -> November 4th - Hibiya’s birthday / he ages to 12 -> New Years - happens, YEAR CHANGES TO THE NEXT YEAR -> February 14th - Momo’s birthday / she ages chronologically to 16 from 15 -> March 3rd - Hiyori’s birthday / she ages (FINALLY) to 12 -> end of March - school year ends. ->
Tumblr media
^ THAT IS VERY CLEARLY AN “11″ THANK YOU VERY MUCH. THIS IS SEEN AROUND 5 TIMES IN THE PV ON MULTIPLE SCREENS. * BOTH HIBIYA AND HIYORI GET THIS “11″. * IT IS CONFLICTING FOR HIYORI BECAUSE OF HER MARCH BIRTHDAY. * IT IS CHRONOLOGICALLY CORRECT FOR HIBIYA. - Hibiya says he is studying for Junior high school exams in “Talkers”, which would imply he’s entering Junior high the next year. - the grade before he’d enter Junior high implied is ‘6′th (ages 11~12*) - * real-world based setting. - this is the grade they’re in DURING MAIN CANON (6th). - 7th is the grade they enter POST-MAIN CANON, THE NEXT YEAR. - a Japanese 6th grader is equivalent to a US 1st-year middle schooler. - by the time they’re in 7th they’re 2nd-year middle schoolers. Talkers chapter 3 w/Hibiya and Ene: Hibiya: I-It’s not a misunderstanding! I really am thinking of taking the admission exam of a [Junior high] school from Tokyo and I’m getting ready for it! (later on): Hibiya: Well, about that… I gotta begin studying for the [Junior high] school admission exam (later on): Hibiya: Hn, looks like it… They (Hibiya’s parents) said, “if you want to take the [Junior high] school exam, try solving this mystery”. (later on): Ene: With this, they will allow you to take the exam! Hibiya: Yeah! Talkers chapter 9 later has:
Hibiya: Yeah… The new semester started and I met up with Hiyori at school.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
”the entrance exam season is when students take intense and difficult examinations to CONTINUE ON to the higher school of their choice ” ”schools throughout the country will hold their examinations over a short period from late January through late February”* * this would be post-August 15th loops. * by then Hibiya would have ALREADY AGED REGARDLESS (from “11″ to “12″ on the first November 4th that occurs post-August 15th.) - in 2013 (January) Kagerou Daze Visual fanbook he was “(about   ? ) 10″. This was WAYYYYYY back in JANUARY 2013, and Hiyori was displayed with THE SAME, ALSO but HIBIYA CANNOT BE 10 IF HIYORI IS. because then that screws up BOTH of their ages, and especially HIYORI’S, ALONG WITH HER GRADE: 2013:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
^ BTW KONOHA WAS STILL “?” HERE IN AGE TOO + DISPLAYED AS “HARUKA KOKONOSE”
Tumblr media
^ THOSE SURE ARE QUESTION MARKS
Tumblr media
^ 2016 “Perfect Guide” REUSES the 2013 profiles. MY SCAN. ”age” is the first line under Hiyori’s picture with the “10″ “?”. So unfortunately, they are NOT up to date, BUT it means their AGES AREN’T IN THESE PROFILES either. NOTE THE QUESTION MARK. @ayara-resara confirmed to me it means/implies “ about ? ” BASICALLY. it would make HIYORI CHRONOLOGICALLY YOUNGER,
IF THEY WERE THE SAME “10″ AGE AT START, NOT HIBIYA. AND WE KNOW FOR A FACT HIYORI IS NOT “ 9 ″. BECAUSE OF THE KONOHA’S STATE OF THE WORLD TV SCREENS IN WHICH BOTH WERE ”11″ - in the Summer 2012 Children Record booklet they had NO AGES SEEN: ONLY STILL THE BIRTHDAYS (CIRCLED, IN RED):
Tumblr media Tumblr media
^ DO NOT USE THIS BOOKLET FOR YOUR AGES REFERENCES. THERE WERE NO AGES IN THIS BOOKLET, ONLY BIRTHDAYS. - in - in a daze - novel Hibiya says he’s been living in his “small town” for: - “OVER 10 YEARS” + - “ten-PLUS” years “of life” ^ PUBLISHED MAY 2012 IN JAPAN. ” I’ve been stuck in this tiny village for over 10 years ”. ” And my short, 10+ (TEN-PLUS) years of life will be a lackluster thing that I won’t be able to remember, too. ” - in 2014 (July, MCA fandom era) PASH! article he was back at “11″. (Hiyori was listed in his same profile box in relation to him.)
Tumblr media
^ THAT IS VERY MUCH AN “11″ THANK YOU.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
- These were also the ages RE-USED in the official MCA script according to Japanese translator Zushilove , who is also Japanese / living in Japan and speaks it fluently. THOUGH SHE DID NOT SPECIFY HIBIYAS, SHE DID CONFIRM PRETTY MUCH EVERYONE ELSE’S WERE THE SAME CONFLICTING ONES DISPLAYED IN PASH 2014. - July PASH! also reconfirmed Kano’s “17″ age. - official merch from ONLY 3 years ago ALSO RECONFIRMED Kano’s “17″. - Fuyuyuu’s post’s timestamp here is May 17, 2015. (2015 !!!) - this would imply Zushilove was, as always (AND AGAIN), CORRECT. - we still have NO IDEA, HOWEVER, what age HIBIYA was displayed with at the 2014 MCA Japan-only event that Zushilove described
“ Same as Kano and Seto, Kido is one grade below Ayano/Shintaro. So for the current time setting,* * August 14-15th she’s [Kido’s] at an age to turn 16~17 between April 1 to next year’s March 31. Kido’s birthday is in January 2. Her [Kido’s] official age is “17″ (this age was written in the script of MCA as well) but her actual age is supposed to be 16. It’s even canon that Kido is younger than Kano (May 10th), who is in the same grade as her and also has the official age written as 17… ” “ Yeah….so from these facts, personally what I believe [*Zushilove’s opinion]
is that all of the character’s ‘official age’ is written as the age that they’re going to turn into until next year’s March 31, in order to differentiate each character’s school grade to show their age gaps.
For an example, if the staffs wrote the ‘actual age’ for Kano as 17 and Kido/Seto as 16, they may have thought that the fans will misinterpret that “Kido/Seto is one grade below Kano”……
...because there is this one thing I heard from one of the MCA staffs considering this complicated age setting but yeah I can’t really share that here….  “
“ Basically, there is this contradicting ‘offcial age’ thing going on for the characters who have their birthday between August 16 and March 31 “
- Zushilove’s commentary, a year or so ago. * HIBIYA’S BIRTHDAY (NOVEMBER) IS BEWTEEN AUGUST 16 AND MARCH 31ST. August 16 -> November 4th -> etc. (as described above) * HIYORI’S BIRTHDAY (MARCH 3RD) IS BEFORE MARCH 31ST AS WELL. - IT’S VERY POSSIBLE THIS IS WHERE HE /AND/ HIYORI COULD HAVE BEEN LISTED WITH “12″ AT START OF SERIES - AND WHY THAT AGE SPREAD AROUND ONLINE FOR SO LONG. - but even if it WASN’T - HIBIYA AGES TO 12 CHRONOLOGICALLY BY NOVEMBER 4TH ANYWAY - sooooo we COULD just recognize he’s 11~12 - this would place HIYORI at 10~11 chronologically OR, - YOU COULD LET HIYORI BE 11~12 TOO , - BECAUSE SHE IS IN THE SAME GRADE AS HIBIYA, - AND ALSO ENTERING JUNIOR HIGH SCHOOL THE NEXT YEAR, - SINCE SHE, TOO, IS ALSO DISPLAYED WITH “11″ - ON “ KONOHA’S STATE OF THE WORLD ” TV SCREENS. - THESE TV SCREENS OF WHICH ARE ALSO STILL CLEARLY SEEN IN THE 2016 GUIDEBOOK IN THE PVs IMAGES SECTION.

Duncan Robinson is redefining what an NBA player can be
Tumblr media
Duncan Robinson might be the NBA’s biggest underdog and most unique player. The Heat have another diamond in the rough.
There’s no one in the NBA who plays like Duncan Robinson. That makes sense, considering there’s no one in the NBA who got there the way Robinson did.
The Heat forward is putting together one of the greatest shooting seasons of all-time in his first full year in the league. Robinson is hitting 44.6 percent of his shots from behind the arc, but his accuracy alone doesn’t capture the impact of his shooting. What makes Robinson special is his accuracy on such immense volume. Of his 9.3 field goal attempts per game, 8.1 come from three-point range. It’s helped him compile a 67.4 true shooting percentage that ranks top-10 in the NBA and has him tied for the lead with any non-center.
Robinson was at his best as the Heat beat the Magic on Wednesday. He finished the game with 27 points on 9-of-12 shooting, with every attempt coming from three-point range. It was the third time Robinson had hit nine or more threes in a single game — joining Stephen Curry, James Harden, Klay Thompson, and Buddy Hield as the only players to ever do it.
youtube
This was the 77th game of Robinson’s NBA career and it put him at 235 made threes. No player has ever hit that many three-pointers in so few games.
To most NBA fans, Robinson has come out of nowhere. Last season, he was mostly known as an undrafted free agent who became a G League standout, and played in 15 games with the Heat at the end of the year. His growth this season is perhaps the greatest example of the Heat’s esteemed culture and the ability of Erik Spoelstra and Pat Riley to uncover and develop diamonds in the rough.
Of course, Robinson’s story is so much bigger than that. College basketball fans know all about it from Robinson’s days at Michigan, where he helped lead the team to the 2018 national championship game. He came to Michigan after initially starting his career at the DIII level with Williams Ephs. He may have stuck with Williams his entire career if the Pistons didn’t hire Jeff Bower as general manager in 2014. Bower was the head coach at low-major Marist at the time. When Marist hired Robinson’s coach at Williams, it opened the door for transfer opportunities.
It was unprecedented for a DIII player to jump up to high-major college basketball and excel. To see that same player now become a vital part of an NBA contender is even more mind-blowing.
This is how Robinson has done it:
Robinson almost never takes a two-point shot
Robinson is a three-point specialist in every way. Right now, 88 percent of his field goal attempts come from three-point range. That’s the highest three-point rate in the history of the NBA, per Basketball-Reference. It is no coincidence that the Miami Heat players have four of the top-seven three-point rate seasons ever since Spoelstra became head coach.
In so many ways, Robinson and the Heat are a match made in heaven. Spoelstra runs Robinson off a variety of floppy sets, stagger screens, and pin downs to get him open and create space for everyone else. Robinson is a master at staying in constant motion and moving off the ball.
This ends in a miss, but please enjoy this off-ball clinic from Duncan Robinson. pic.twitter.com/XUy5Jmy4ed
— ahhhhhh (dats me yellin) (@NekiasNBA) February 29, 2020
Robinson’s ability to get himself open from three and make shots other players wouldn’t even think about taking has made him incredibly efficient on just about every type of play. Per Synergy Sports:
Robinson ranks in the 93rd percentile off spot-ups
He ranks in the 96th percentile off hand-offs
He ranks in the 93rd percentile in transition
He ranks in the 98th percentile off cuts
He ranks in the 84th percentile on “guarded” catch-and-shoot attempts and in the 96th percentile on unguarded attempts
All this for a player who averages 1.1 field-goal attempts from two-point range per game. The NBA has seen a lot of great shooting specialists come through the ranks over the last two decades, but none of them have ever been quite as good at it as Robinson already is.
Robinson has a huge impact on the Heat’s success
The Heat have gone from missing the playoffs to one of the best teams in the Eastern Conference for plenty of different reasons. Signing a superstar in Jimmy Butler is probably the biggest. The development of Bam Adebayo into arguably the best young center in the league is another. But don’t discount Robinson’s impact on influencing his team’s success.
Robinson leads the Heat in net-rating at +7.2 when he’s in the game. The Heat’s offense — currently No. 7 in the NBA — jumps up to No. 2 when he’s on the floor. Robinson is also a staple in most of the Heat’s top lineups. He’s in three of Miami’s four best lineups and in seven of the top 11.
Miami has also has the top halfcourt offense in the league since the NBA All-Star break. Robinson’s constant motion and shooting ability has its finger prints all over that, too.
Best halfcourt offenses since the All-Star break (points per 100 poss): 1. Heat – 108.6 2. Rockets – 106.0 3. Clippers – 101.9 4. Mavericks – 101.8 5. Thunder – 101.1 6. Jazz – 101.10 7. Kings – 99.5 8. Magic – 99.2 9. Nuggets/Pelicans – 98.8 11. Bucks – 97.9 12. Wizards – 97.6
— Shane Young (@YoungNBA) March 5, 2020
Defenses can’t let Robinson have an inch of space, otherwise they are likely going to surrender three points. The defensive attention he attracts lets his teammates have wide-open paths to the basket. There have been so many plays like this one for the Heat this season:
Nice set from the Heat to start the quarter. Starts with Dive action but Bam fakes the P&R into a pindown for Robinson. Empty corner and Bjelica fell for the fake and had to recover to Robinson. Opened up Bam for a big finish on the roll. pic.twitter.com/wEUvbqPWWu
— Steve Jones Jr. (@stevejones20) February 8, 2020
Robinson’s quick trigger and relentless dedication to firing threes gives him star-level gravity for a role player. The Heat wouldn’t be this good without it.
What Robinson is doing is special
Spoelstra knew he had a unique player when he saw Robinson in training camp this year. No one could have predicted he would be so right.
Erik Spoelstra called Duncan Robinson “one of the best shooters on this planet” before the start of the season. He wasn’t lying ...
— Anthony Chiang (@Anthony_Chiang) December 31, 2019
It isn’t just his head coach vouching for Robinson. Andre Iguodala famously said he thought Robinson was a ball boy the first time he saw him in practice with Miami. The quote ends with him calling Robinson “easily the best shooter I’ve ever played with.”
Iguodala was once teammates with a man named Stephen Curry, so excuse his hyperbole or momentary lapse in judgement. Robinson is no Curry because he isn’t a star. But for a role-player under contract for only $1.4 million this season and $1.6 million next year, he’s having a massive impact that has helped push the Heat towards the top of the standings in the East. All-in-one advanced metrics like PIPM and RAPTOR WAR confirm his impact. He’s a top-30 player in the NBA this season in both metrics.
The Heat found a true diamond in the rough with Robinson. His story couldn’t have unfolded any other way.

Huge Google Update – Florida 2.0 Is Rolling Out! Massive Rankings Fluctuations
Over the last few days, there has been a lot of buzz about possible Google algorithm updates. And yes, it’s true that Google updates its algorithm every single day, often multiple times per day but this update seems to be significant. And moreover, it is confirmed by Google on March 13.
Number 13’s infamy will probably explode even more now, but you need to know that the most recent Google Update started on 12 of March, continued in force on the 13 of March and the rankings fluctuation seems to continue as you’re reading this.
A Confirmed Google Broad Core Update
Leaving modesty aside, we did spot the update before Google making the official announcement and before all the buzz in the SEO world. No, we do not have psychic powers, but we do have a super powerful tool: cognitiveSEO Signals.
While we are aware that search results are different around the world, in different regions, and in different languages, and changing search results is almost a Google trademark, the rankings fluctuations were really high on lots of countries. The daily updates that typically occur in SERP don’t compare to this one in any way. And this time, Google officials also confirmed what the data already told us.
This week, we released a broad core algorithm update, as we do several times per year. Our guidance about such updates remains as we’ve covered before. Please see these tweets for more about that:https://t.co/uPlEdSLHoXhttps://t.co/tmfQkhdjPL
— Google SearchLiaison (@searchliaison) March 13, 2019
Of course, a lot of buzz did not delay to appear on the social media channels, with people complaining about big high volatility as well as dropped traffic and drops.
I’m not sure if you’re familiar with Ian Fleming (the guy that wrote the James Bond series of novels and short stories) byword, but it’s somehow bitter funny how it applies to our current situation.
Once is an accident. Twice is a coincidence. Three times is an enemy action.
It’s clear that we cannot talk about coincidences at this point as people all over the places are facing rankings fluctuations.

Massive Drops in Search Position Examples
As we don’t like to take anything for granted, we researched and double-checked on real case studies to see how the current update impacted businesses from all over the regions. We used the cognitiveSEO Rank Tracker to easily check and analyze some keywords and their rankings.
We found some massive drops in rankings on commercial keywords with high search volume. Below you can see some screenshots with just some the search position drops we’ve identified.
We couldn’t find any increases in rankings for the moment, yet this doesn’t mean that increases didn’t occur. I’m sure that in the following days we’ll better understand how this update impacted the Google ranks and as the law of nature works when someone goes down, someone else goes up.
We’ve done the research on several countries and languages to find out that Florida 2.0 is clearly a global update that affects websites regardless of the country, region or country.
What is also important to notice is the amount of keywords websites have lost their rankings on. We’ve found just a few situations were the websites declined in SERP on just a few keywords. Most of the analyzed websites faced drops on half or maybe more than half of the keywords they were interested in ranking for.
For the moment we cannot draw a conclusion on what the March 12 Google Update actually targeted: links, content, intent, all together, something else? There could be a commonality between the websites affected by this update, yet, further research needs to be done. But keep still, here at cognitiveSEO we are a bunch of geeks who like doing in-depth researches so most likely we’ll come back with more details on what Florida 2.0 is all about.
How Can You Spot Google Updates Before Everybody Else
The truth is that Google doesn’t always disclose updates and algorithm changes. Or, being a bit nasty, we might say that Google rarely makes public its rankings updates. That’s why there is also a lot of buzz and confusion every time someone from the SEO world notices something out of place in SERP.
How did we find about the update before Google making any official statement?
It started with a mail. A notification actually from cognitiveSEO Signals, cognitiveSEO’s tool that spots Algorithm changes in real time.
Checking the tool on several countries, positions, and changes, we realized that there is actually something big going on and for sure the biggest fluctuation from the last 5 months for several countries like US, UK, Australia, India, several countries in Europe and so on.
  What You Need to Do
The short answer is: it depends on who you’re asking.
If you’re asking Google, the answer you’ll get is :
There is nothing in particular to “fix,” and we don’t want content owners to mistakenly try to change things that aren’t issues.
According to the same big G officials, a broad core update means that Google is not targeting any niche or any particular signals, like quality. In a broad core algorithm update, Google is not targeting anything. There’s no “fix” for pages that may perform less well other than to remain focused on building great content. Over time, it may be that your content may rise relative to other pages. And as with any update, some sites may note drops or gains. There’s nothing wrong with pages that may now perform less well. Instead, it’s that changes to our systems are benefiting pages that were previously under-rewarded….
Of course, as with any update, some sites may note drops or gains. Yet, if you’re asking any SEO Pro or webmaster who is very concerned about his website ranking high, well it is hard to do nothing while your ranks are dropping.
We are not saying that you should look for issues on your website where they are not, or to start changing stuff just for the sake of the algorithm update. Yet, there are some actions that you can take.
Check that your site is performing well from an on-site point of view
Check how well optimized & relevant your content is
Check your link profile
Check your SERP positions
Keep an eye on the Google Algorithm Updates
And yes, you can check everything by using only one tool: the cognitiveSEO toolset.
  Desktop vs Mobile Rankings Fluctuations
There is no secret that mobile searches in Google are constantly growing from one year to another. And therefore, Google’s interest on mobile search market is increasing as well. What is very interesting to notice is that when it comes to ranking fluctuations, the mobile SERP is way more volatile than the desktop one.
If the current algorithm (named Florida 2.0) is the biggest Google fluctuation on desktop from the past five months, when it comes to the mobile market, the situation is completely different. Dozens of fluctuations and lots of volatility can be easily observed on the screenshots taken from the UK and USA mobile vs. the desktop search market.
Why Is This Google Update Named Florida 2.0?
If you’re checking the WebmasterWorld Forum or read SEO Pros opinion on this Broad Core Update, you’ll see that it is referred to as the Florida 2.0.
Where is all that coming from?
Well, Google Florida was the first major algorithm update and it was released in November 2003. This, of course, was the first significant update in what would become a decade filled with huge updates. Regardless of what it was called, Florida hit in the middle of the holiday shopping season targetted highly commercial terms. As you can imagine, lots of pages and businesses have been wiped out from Google’s SERP.
As you might tend to think that these two updates are similar in the way of rolling, what they actually have in common is the name. Google Updates were always given names by the search industry; it was not Google’s officials who named their updates Fred, Penguin or Panda.  And the Florida update was named this way due to the fact that it was released around Pubcon Florida SEO conference taking place. History repeats and with the update and the conference taking place in the same month, Florida 2.0 came naturally.
How about you? Did you encounter any ranking or traffic fluctuation? Let us know in the comments below!

How to Pick the Best Produce at the Grocery Store Dr. Mercola By Dr. Mercola If you’ve ever been to a grocery store and picked up produce, you’ve more than likely opened a package or two and found yourself stuck with rubbery carrots, mealy apples or muskmelon that was either mushy or hard as a rock. Fruits and vegetables that disappoint once you get them home may have something to do with the fact that, more often than not, it’s not kids who have to be prodded to eat their fruits and vegetables, it’s adults (and if adults don’t think it’s important, chances are they aren’t influencing their kids to do so). In fact, a recent report1 from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) reveals that only 1 in 10 adults eats the fruits and veggies they need. The CDC recommends adults eat at least 1 1/2 cups to 2 cups of fruit per day, and 2 to 3 cups of vegetables. While most people definitely need to eat this amount (or more) of vegetables, the 80 percent of the population who are insulin resistant should not eat that much fruit. Remember, fruit tends to be high in fructose, and if you’re insulin resistant, you’ll want to limit your total fructose to 15 grams a day until you’ve regained your metabolic flexibility and are able to burn fat for fuel. Once you can do that, you can add a bit more fruit, but be sure to monitor your sugar level to confirm you’re still in a healthy range. The report notes that in 2015, only 9 percent of adults in the U.S. got an adequate amount of vegetables, and an average of 12 percent of adults ate enough fruit. Study results also showed that the lowest averages for produce consumption were among men, young adults and adults living in poverty. Lead study author Seung Hee Lee-Kwan, Ph.D., of CDC’s division of nutrition, physical activity and obesity, commented: “This report highlights that very few Americans eat the recommended amount of fruits and vegetables every day, putting them at risk for chronic diseases like diabetes and heart disease. As a result, we’re missing out on the essential vitamins, minerals, and fiber that fruits and vegetables provide.”2 How to Pick the Ripest Fruit and the Freshest Veggies You’ve heard it before: “What you see is what you get.” That’s not necessarily true with produce, though. In fact, researchers have discovered a fairly predictable reason why Americans, especially, tend to reach for something other than the healthy, plant-based foods they know they should eat. The reason, the study at the University of Florida Institute of Food and Agricultural Sciences discovered, is simply that people aren’t exactly sure how to pick what’s good and what might not be best in the flavor, freshness and texture categories when they find themselves standing in front of a produce table. Researchers perused the surveys that 1,200 study consumers filled out regarding what generally caused them to choose six different types of produce, and found that appearance and aroma are the two most common determining factors. But when they use that model and choose a good one, it’s just chance, the scientists say. Men’s Fitness3 explains that besides looking the produce over, using your nose is a better gauge for peak ripeness and taste. Today suggests three rules that will help you pick the tastiest tomatoes and perfectly ripened pears: Beautiful doesn’t always mean it will taste good Use your hands to help determine freshness Shop for produce that’s currently in season Also, beware of genetically engineered fruits and vegetables, which tend to be more heavily contaminated with pesticides such as glyphosate. Examples best avoided include Arctic apples, engineered to resist browning when cut. Shipping and Shelf Life Impact Produce Quality One reason appearance isn’t a good way to figure out what produce is best is that over decades, some fruits and vegetables, like Red Delicious apples, for instance, were bred to be beautiful rather than have a pleasing flavor and consistency, and the result became a mealy, tasteless, altogether disappointing piece of fruit. When choosing fruits and vegetables, such as pears, strawberries, squash or sweet potatoes, picking it up and considering its weight may help you pick the best as well as its fragrance. Today notes three reasons why shopping for produce that’s in season (and avoiding the ones that aren’t) is wise: “In the Golden Age of the American supermarket, Chilean tomatoes and South African asparagus are an arm’s length away when our soil is blanketed in snow. Sure, sometimes you just need a tomato, but there are three persuasive reasons to shop in season: it’s cheaper, it’s better and it’s better for you.”4 Here are some helpful suggestions for how to select high-quality produce. You could call these directives the “ABCs” of picking produce: The ‘A’s’ Have It: How to Buy These Fruits and Veggies • Apples should be smooth, firm and heavy for their size without bruising (they bruise easily), nicks in the flesh, wormholes or brown streaks. The smaller they are, the more flavorful they’ll be. Peak season is September to May. Place them in your fridge’s crisper drawer in a brown paper bag away from vegetables to keep several weeks. • Artichokes aren’t typically the most sought-after produce, perhaps because consumers are unsure what to look for. They should have tightly closed leaves when ripe, have deep green color, feel heavy and show no mars in the flesh. Peak season is March to May. Refrigerate up to five days in a brown paper bag. • Avocados are unique and as such are some of the trickiest produce to pick in terms of peak ripeness, but the color and “feel” usually tell the story. They should be firm to the touch, not soft and with no mushy spots. The color will be medium to dark green. Don’t choose if you detect a “rattle” inside, as the pit has pulled away from the flesh. Avocados, which are technically a fruit, are in season all year. Take care how you handle them as they bruise easily. Kept in cold storage, they’ll last for up to a week. To speed up the ripening process, place them in a paper bag with an apple at room temperature for a day or two. Ethylene gas makes the avocado ripen faster. Don’t ‘B’ Missing Out on These • Bananas are sometimes a matter of taste in regard to how yellow they are, but they’re sweetest when they’re speckled with small brown spots. If they’re streaked with brown and the spots are large, pass them by. Never refrigerate them; store them at room temperature on the counter. These also are in season year-round, and can be “bagged” to speed up ripening. Beets are gaining in popularity, but don’t have to be the tennis ball-sized nuggets some believe are best. Even large beets can be firm and delicious if they’re stored properly. They should be unblemished, firm and deep red that doesn’t yield when pressed with your thumb. The leaves should be vibrant, not wilted. Peak season for beets is June to October. Remove the leaves, but leave about 4 inches of the stems so the beets will retain their deeper red color when cooked. Store them in the refrigerator in a brown paper bag for no more than two days or the crisper for up to two weeks; otherwise they become rubbery. • Broccoli should be firm, not rubbery, with tightly packed clusters that are deep green or with a purple tinge, but not yellow. Peak season is from October to May. Place them in a bag to store in the fridge for up to a week. Brussels sprouts are somewhat like mini cabbages, only milder. They should be a vibrant green, firm and compact. They’re easiest to cook if you choose heads that are of similar size, but note that smaller ones have a sweeter flavor. These are best around October and November. To keep water from damaging their freshness, don’t wash them before storing them in a paper bag in your refrigerator, where they will keep for up to two weeks. • Berries can be a challenge. Even when refrigerated they may go bad within a day or two. One of the key strategies is to make sure the berries, whether they’re blueberries, raspberries or strawberries, are dry when you buy them. When they’re wet, they can deteriorate and mold seemingly overnight. Alleviate this problem by soaking them in a vinegar and water solution — four parts water and one part vinegar, The Penny Hoarder5 advises. Swish them around for a minute or so, drain, rinse well and spread them in a single layer on paper towels, patting and rolling them gently. Let them air dry for a while for good measure. To store, keep them dry by lining a perforated container with a paper towel, and do not seal it. Excess moisture will be able to evaporate; change the paper towels once they become damp. Discard any moldy berries. You’ll ‘C’ Peak Season Freshness Pays Off in Flavor • Cantaloupes are a little tricky to pick, but here’s a trick: Besides having a smooth indentation on the stem end, when pressing it firmly with your thumb, it should give just slightly. That tells you where it is in the ripening process. If it’s soft anywhere, it’s too ripe and will probably be mushy. It should also be pleasantly fragrant. To keep cantaloupes from losing their flavor, store them in the refrigerator until you’re ready to eat them — up to five days. • Carrots should be smooth and bright orange (or one of the other vibrant colors they come in) and so firm they threaten to snap rather than bend. Your best bet, year-round, is to select carrots with their green, feathery leaves still attached. Remove the greens before storing them in a bag in your crisper drawer for up to three weeks. • Cauliflower is exploding in popularity since people have discovered it can be an excellent stand-in for pizza crust and even mashed potatoes. When shopping for this white veggie, male sure you don’t see little black flecks, and that the stems and florets are firm, not rubbery. At their peak, from September to November, refrigerate them unwashed in a plastic bag for up to a week. If light brown or black spots form, shave them off with a sharp knife. If you’re in doubt about what’s in season, when, check out seasonalfoodguide.org.6 Simply select your state from the dropdown menu and the month in question to get a list of fruits and veggies that are in season in your local area. Gathering your produce for soups, stir-fries, fruit and veggie trays and just for good, fresh eating, buying foods when they’re in season ensures the best flavor, best texture and also the best in all the vitamins, minerals and multiple phytonutrients fruits and vegetables offer.

As one of the most successful intimidation impostor schemes, this scam allows defrauders quick access to your information and a fast way to get your money. Scaring you is their intent, and it all begins with a phone call. This phone call is typically made after hours (which should be a red flag) from someone claiming to represent a law enforcement agency. This could be your local police, a sheriff’s department, or US Marshals Service. The caller might say that you are facing imminent arrest due to not reporting for mandated jury duty. The caller may cite actual names of law enforcement persons or even judges. In order to “avoid arrest,” the caller will say that you can pay a fine. This will be in the form of a gift card or prepaid debit card (Green Dot MoneyPak or iTunes gift cards are popular ones with this scam.) They will also ask you to confirm your identity, which may include name, date of birth, or even social security number, to ensure they have reached the correct “violator.”• Do NOT purchase any gift card or prepaid debit cards. • Hang up without providing any information about yourself. • Report the incident to your local police department or the FBI tip line (http://bit.ly/2pY1gFP) to aid in investigation of these scams. • Legitimate law enforcement officials will never call to warn you of an impending arrest. This is true of any type of infraction, let alone a missed jury duty date. • These calls are often made later in the evening, well beyond courthouse hours of operation/closing times.• Always remember that Caller IDs can be manipulated to show the name and phone numbers of intended agencies or businesses. If you are concerned, do your own research on courthouse or law enforcement numbers and verify any missed court dates or missed jury duty dates with a court clerk during regular business hours. • Legitimate jury duty notifications and “no show” summonses are almost always delivered through the mail system. You will never be asked for personal information from anyone from a courthouse system regarding a missed jury duty date.If you have questions or believe that you may have been a victim of this scam, please contact the Bowie Police Department at 240-544-5700. Dear Ghostvillagers,
You may have heard a term kicked around lately that we’re living in a “post-truth society.” I’m not going to get political here, not to worry, that isn’t my area of expertise. But if like me you can’t escape the news, basically everyone is calling everyone else a liar to the point where many people don’t even know what to believe anymore. Say two plus two equals four, and you’re a liar. Say two plus two equals seven, and you’re a liar. This is a shame. Because I believe truth is the most valuable commodity we have, and we should hold everyone to the truth. Opinions aren’t truth. They’re just opinions, even if they sound right to some people, it’s still very different than truth.
The role of the media in our society can’t be understated. Not just television, radio, newspapers, magazines, and Web sites, but social media like Facebook and Twitter. We have the ability to spread news (whether true or made up) and opinion at light speed. A role that used to belong to seasoned reporters and editors is now left in the hands of the masses. This isn’t always a good thing. We should all be diligent when passing along information.
Being a paranormal guy, I’m especially interested when the media puts out a story on a paranormal topic, whether a UFO sighting, ghost caught on camera, or some legendary beast who was spotted. Last month, this “demon” photo made the rounds on social media first, then regular media. The photo was originally posted to Facebook by Richard Christianson with the caption “What the hell do you see in this picture for reals??? Anybody?”
The photo was taken in Arizona and started an online debate about whether this was a captured image of the Angel of Death, or a capture of a palm tree at just the right angle in just the right light, making it look like some dark, winged demon. If you look to the left of the picture, you can see there appears to be another palm tree planted in the same section of the street. Here’s a link to one of the many news sites that covered the picture: http://myfox8.com/2017/01/04/chilling-demon-photo-goes-viral/
Over the years I’ve been interviewed by various reporters asking for my comment on some of these stories. I choose my words carefully because I recognize I’m often speaking for more than just myself. Some folks will judge all paranormal investigators based on what I say. But I have been working in media for more than 20 years. I got my start as a newspaper reporter writing feature stories. When I started writing about the paranormal, I brought that same objective and critical eye to this subject. I believe it’s what has set me apart from many others over the decades. I don’t pretend to have the answers, but I feel we can learn a lot from the pursuit of the unexplained and from the stories.
The media most often treats these paranormal stories as features and fillers. The reporter may scoff at it, like some assignment they had to take, but one they doubt. Others give it at least a neutral shake, allowing the video clip or eye witness to speak for itself. While I see a benefit in any kind of coverage, because at least the clip might further promote the discussion, we should still be diligent when publishing and sharing evidence and stories.
There is more noise in the media than ever before, because so many more people are taking part. It used to be that a tiny percentage of reporters offered news, while most people consumed it. Now everyone is a news influencer and amateur reporter. If a YouTube video gets enough views, it makes it to prime time television. If a link is shared enough, public officials have to confirm or deny its veracity. So much noise, it’s no wonder there’s an abundance of confusion and division in the world today. No one knows what to believe, so they choose to only believe news that already agrees with their viewpoint, and any other news must be lies. Believe that image is a demon, and anyone who says otherwise obviously doesn’t know what they’re talking about. Say it’s a palm tree, and you obviously don’t know evil when you see it.
Wouldn’t it be great if a reporter went to the exact spot where the photo was taken, reproduced the angle, and clicked a picture in the daytime? If we see a brightly lit palm tree roughly the same shape and size, we have our answer. If clearly there is no sign of a tree there, then things get more interesting, don’t they? Sadly, no one does that, because solving the mystery isn’t as interesting. Better to leave it as click-bait and let folks argue about it.
Every time someone shares a clip, photo, or some other piece of paranormal evidence, if it goes viral, it speaks to the credibility of all of us, and all of the evidence out there. One bad piece of evidence can make people doubt the rest. It’s so important we try to debunk our own evidence first.
We have to count on each other when it comes to the pursuit of truth. We shouldn’t wait for it to come down from an elected official or from various news outlets. It must start with us. We’re chasing the unexplained, we’re already held up to ridicule. Let’s become the example we wish our elected officials and news media would follow.
In my own life, I’m now mainly focused on climbing Mt. Kilimanjaro next month. I’ve been training, I’ve been writing a memoir about the entire experience, and raising money for the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society. With your help, I’ve been able to raise almost $13,000 to fight blood cancer, but I don’t want to stop there. If you haven’t donated yet, please consider making a tax-deductible donation here: http://pages.teamintraining.org/ma/mtklmjr16/JBelanger I can’t tell you how much each donation means to me. I don’t want to let any of you down. Though you’ll hear from me in one more newsletter before I go, please know you’re helping me focus my workouts and my training hikes. Once I’m on the mountain, the long list of people who have helped this great cause will be at the forefront of my mind. You’ll help carry me to the top!
Until next time, please keep seeking truth, my friends. Truth in everything you do.

Salmon Fishing Scotland Tay Perthshire Salmon fishing report w/e 21st January 2017.
Salmon Fishing Scotland Tay, Perthshire Salmon fishing report w/e 21st January 2017. The river Tay opened on the 16th January in mild conditions for the time of year, scores of anglers flocked to the banks of the river to mark the opening of the salmon season with great publicity in the press and on television. The various issues and activities appeared on Television, Radio and Press giving the river extremely high exposure that was invaluable with the major announcement of water back in the Garry. It has been a reasonably quiet start to the season so far. There were opening day events throughout the Tay district with the larger ceremonies taking place at Meikleour and Kenmore. At Meikleour the Tay Board official opening took place with James Smith of SSE and Claire Mercer-Nairn formally opening the river with the symbolic first cast in front of an enthusiastic crowd after introductions from Tay chairman Bill Jack who raised all the issues and welcomed the new season on the mighty river. The ceremony at the Meikleour on Monday morning marked the official start of the 2017 season. It was organised by the Tay board in conjunction with the Perthshire Chamber of Commerce. A good crowd witnessed the event with television coverage by the BBC and STV news plus double page articles in the national press. Anglers attending the event raised over £400 for Angling for Youth Development. The major announcement was that “dry” River Garry will flow again and was made on the opening day of the salmon season on the River Tay. It means that spawning salmon will have access for the first time in over 60 years to the tributary of the Tay which could lead to 1,500 adult salmon returning to the river annually. As anglers made their first casts of the year at ceremonies on the Tay, Bill Jack, chairman of the Tay District Salmon Fisheries Board (TDSFB) said: “It is difficult to envisage any other single project that would benefit salmon in the Tay system as much as this will.” After decades of extensive water abstraction for hydro power, ten miles of the Garry which has been essentially dry since the mid 1950s, will run again. The formal announcement was made at the Tay District Salmon Fisheries Board’s (TDSFB) annual ceremony to celebrate the opening of the Tay salmon fishing season, at Meikleour Fishings. The traditional blessing of the boat and river with a Quaich of whisky was performed by James Smith of SSE. In a second opening ceremony, further upriver also in cold conditions, a large crowd of anglers and local residents gathered at the Kenmore Hotel in Perthshire before a pipe band led them to the water’s edge where they waited for the season to be officially opened. Scott McKenzie, poured a dram into the river before the fishing got under way. The pouring of whisky is a symbolic gesture to keep the salmon “in good health”. SSE confirmed that engineering work will commence in a few weeks to restore flows to the River Garry, some 15 miles north of Blair Atholl and an initial breach has already been made at the Struan Weir to begin this process. Mr Smith, SSE’s Managing Director of Generation, said the announcement was in tune with their environmental responsibilities. “We recognise this stretch of the River Garry as a special case for water restoration,” he said. “Although it will result in a loss of potential hydro energy for SSE we are delighted to play our part in restoring water flow and allowing salmon back to the upper Garry.” Mr Jack added: “This most welcome news is a milestone in salmon conservation.” “Some ten miles of the main river and seven miles of tributary will once again be capable of producing salmon,” he said. “We estimate that this is likely to produce an additional 1,500 adult, predominantly spring, salmon returning to the river annually. “We are very pleased to have been able to work with SSE and SEPA to a successful conclusion.” Ian Buchanan of the Scottish Environment Protection Agency (SEPA), said: “This is by far the most significant river restoration project of this type that has been achieved to date in Scotland, if not the UK, thanks to the EU Water Framework Directive.” Farlows from London had come up to fish the first couple of days at Stanley and organised a good opening day ceremony with fishing director Brian Fratel fronting the celebrations. Joe Hardy, owner of the Tayside Hotel in the village blessed the water with whisky. The Opening week saw odd spring salmon registered in the best conditions for years on the river after reasonably mild weather for the time of year as Europe freezes and fish were spread throughout the river. Hopefully with more settled conditions over the week to come a good few more spring salmon will enter the river and be landed to get our season off to a flying start. The opening day saw 5 fish registered with the largest fish of 19 pounds being caught at Dunkeld. Robert Harvey claimed the Redford Trophy catching the fish in the Grotto pool from the boat. Further fish were caught on the beat in the week with Barry Ward landing a 12 pounds fish in the Gauge pool. Meikleour saw 2 fish landed on the opening day with a 14 pounds for Gerard McAuley. Further much up the system Fish n’ Trips recorded a couple of fish from opening day and later in the week. As the week went on other fish were caught. Ballathie got off the mark with a couple of fish up to 11 pounds. Upper Scone got off to a good start with 2 superb fish up to 20 pounds caught harling from the Wash House on the Pitlochrie beat at Stanley. Firstly, Andrew McCaig had a 14 pounds beauty then a couple of days later Ken Watkins caught a superb sea liced 20 pounds specimen. The beats around Murthly caught first week fish with Glendelvine and Murthly getting on the score sheet. Jamie Thomson and John Dewar both landed fish from the boat at Glendelvine. Further fish came from Lower Kinnaird and Farleyer. There has been a good few young sea trout in the river presently and various beats are recording them up to around 1 pounds in weight. This is not unusual and has happened in the past. It maybe shows the sea trout populations are recovering with improving inshore food sources getting better. These fish enter the rivers at this time of year but will disappear back to sea to feed up and return in the summer as mature sea trout in the next month or so. The Spring Salmon fishing was well and truly underway after all the excitement of opening day’s celebrations. It has been a reasonable start so let us hope the season lives up to every ones expectations over the coming weeks and months. Tight lines! A day in the life of an inveterate MLB gambler in 2038
Tumblr media
What will happen when betting on baseball isn’t just legal, but incredibly easy?
Before the game
The security lines are long because President Grohl is attending the game, but the slow line gives me time to finalize everything. The Reds to win, of course. They aren’t going to pay off that big because they’re such heavy favorites, but they’ve been playing .700 ball for almost two full months. The Nationals ... not so much.
It’s everything else that takes some more thought.
The over-under on Kumar Rocker is five innings, and I go with the over. The second-time-through-the-order nerds wouldn’t approve, but Jay Bruce is something of a throwback manager, and he lets his veterans go deeper into games than most. It’s one of the reasons Rocker threw 150 innings last year, and he shouldn’t have a problem with this Nationals’ lineup.
Over-under on runs scored for both teams is 8.5, which is low, but I still take the under. Rocker has been one of the best pitchers in baseball for almost two decades now, and he’s actually getting stronger with age. The Nationals’ lineup is, like, eight guys they found at the bus terminal, but Hunter Hunter can pitch a little, so it should be a low-scoring game.
Over-under on strikeouts for both teams is 25.5, and I go over. Might be the easiest bet of the game. Rocker’s averaged 16 strikeouts per nine just on his own for the last two years, which is better than the league average, and Hunter’s no slouch there, either.
Over-under on home runs is 2.5, and I take the under. It’s been a while since I’ve watched a game with fewer than two homers, but I’m all in on Rocker. And Hunter, too, I guess.
By the time I’m in my seat with a hot dog, I’m feeling pretty good. Maybe I won’t need to pick up extra shifts after all.
First inning
This is a fucking disaster.
Rocker has nothing. It’s like someone showed him the painting in the attic, and now he’s pitching to his age. He’s throwing weak-ass 97-mph meatballs, and the Nats can’t miss.
After the third homer of the inning, I delete the slip with the homer prop bet. When Bruce trudges out to the mound before the inning is even over, I delete the other slip. I’d be willing to bet the Nationals haven’t scored six runs in the first inning in any game over the last 20 years, and now they’re pummelling a Hall of Famer? The exact asshole I put my faith in?
I scream at Rocker as he leaves the mound. Something about his wife, I don’t know, but it sure makes some heads turn. Not my proudest moment.
Counterpoint: Screw that guy.
Finn Raloit comes in, and you can smell the smoke coming from his shoulder. He throws one pitch — one — and it’s a 99-percent hit probability off the bat. Here comes the seventh run, and this stupid, stupid crowd is going nuts. They haven’t seen a game like this all season.
The next batter breaks his bat, and the crowd groans because the two-percent hit probability comes up on their screen at the same time. Except it falls. It falls right in front of that fat tub of Trout in left. The guy’s, like, 50, and I get that he’s still a draw because of the chase, but why can’t they just park him at DH? Why does Bruce keep playing him in the field? After the last out, I let Trout know about my opinions. More heads turn, and I get a warning notification. Looks like we got ourselves a narc.
In the bottom of the first, the Reds hit two dingers, screwing up the other bet, and I consider literally printing out the slips so that I can eat them. Just om nom nom nom, right down into my stomach, where the acid and bile will turn the bets into literal shit.
There’s still a chance that the Reds could win, I guess. The Nationals’ bullpen is just that bad.
Second inning
Not as bad as the Reds’ bullpen, apparently. The idiots. The absolute idiots. It’s 12-2 with two outs, and I want to throw up.
Let’s see ... $5,000 on the Reds to win, with $4,000 on all of the side bets. That’s $21,000. Two months’ rent, give or take. I message my boss about those extra shifts, and he responds in about five seconds to tell me they’re all filled. Even if you want more than the standard 80, you can’t get it. This is bullshit.
Third inning
Printing out the slips is harder than it should be. Just one kiosk in the stadium? When I was younger, there was one in every other section.
But I get it done, and I start taking bites. The chewing is pissed off and deliberate, and I don’t care who’s staring at me. Get down in my belly. Become the literal shit that you are.
Fourth inning
Drinkin’.
Fifth inning
The itch starts again. I can’t scratch it, I absolutely can’t. I know how this ends. The voices in my head aren’t as persuasive as they used to be, which is a good thing.
Then I start running through the different scenarios.
If I can’t get more shifts, there’s no way I’m making rent until the middle of next month. A three-day notice will expire on the ninth, and I know those assholes will file on me the next day.
I’m not calling my parents again. It’s humiliating enough when they actually give me the money, but they haven’t done that in years.
Everything I could sell is gone. The Playstation IX, the multipass, the embots, the microwave tower, the creepy-ass dog robot from Boston Scientific that used to keep me company and rummage through my drawers while I slept. I’m not sure if I could liquidate everything I own and come up with $10,000, which is depressing.
The only thing standing between me and a shelter is a hot streak. It’s the only way.
So I turn on the notifications for the Official MLB Wager app.
God help me.
Sixth inning
The trick is not getting overwhelmed. The only problem is that I’ve never managed this trick successfully.
PROP BET: WILL VLADIMIR GUERRERO III REACH BASE SAFELY (+150)
He’s just a child, but screw it, he’s hot. I look to the right of the screen, and the bet is on.
PROP BET: 1ST PITCH BALL? (+95)
He’ll get ahead in the count. I look to the bottom and adjust the bet to $1000, then look to the left and confirm.
PROP BET: RUN SCORES THIS INNING? (+160)
If you’re going to bet on a runner, you might as well bet on the run. And, shit, this makes me remember that all of the inning prop bets need to be in before the inning starts. Lightning round.
PROP BET: NUMBER OF STRIKEOUTS THIS INNING, MORE THAN ONE? (+110)
Yes.
PROP BET: NUMBER OF STRIKEOUTS THIS INNING, MORE THAN THREE? (+2000)
Ha, ha. Sure, screw it, swing for the fences.
MLB.COM WARNING: YOU HAVE PLACED FIVE BETS WITHIN ONE MINUTE. PLEASE ACKNOWLEDGE THAT YOU ARE AWARE OF THE RISKS OF GAMBLING, AND CALL 1-800-STOP-BET IF YOU BELIEVE YOU HAVE A PROBLEM.
Shut up, nerd. I scroll through the waiver and acknowledge.
PROP BET: ERROR COMMITTED IN INNING? (+200)
This is exactly the kind of bet a player can swing in a blowout without drawing any attention at all, especially the minimum-salary scrubs playing the garbage innings. Hell yes, I want to bet on an error.
PROP BET: WALK ALLOWED IN INNING? (+110)
Green-ass rookie on the mound. Yep.
PROP BET: OVER-UNDER ON GROUND-BALLS in play, TWO (+110)
Uh, crap, is Perez a sinker guy, or is he ... uh, fine, fine, yes, over.
Damn, too slow for more bets. The inning starts. The first pitch is a fastball right down the middle, and Guerrero doesn’t even pretend to be interested. Idiot.
PROP BET: 2ND PITCH BALL? (+95)
Yeah.
Guerrero swings at a pitch that bounces. Idiot.
PROP BET: 3RD PITCH BALL? (+90)
Sure.
It’s a ball. Finally. This is where it turns around.
PROP BET: BALL IN PLAY? (+120)
Yes.
Guerrero pops it up. So that bet hits, but the earlier one about reaching base is a miss, and they cancel each other out.
I’ve never even heard of this guy coming up to the plate.
PROP BET: 1ST PITCH BALL? (+95)
Sure ...
Seventh inning
PROP BET: 1ST PITCH BALL? (+95)
Yes. It’s a ball.
PROP BET: 2ND PITCH STRIKE? (+95)
Nailed it.
PROP BET: 3RD PITCH BALL? (+95)
Yes, and the hitter waves through a lazy breaking ball like an absolute asshole.
PROP BET: 4TH PITCH BALL? (+95)
Yes. Missed, dammit.
PROP BET: 5TH PITCH BALL? (+95)
Yes. It hits.
PROP BET: WALK ON NEXT PITCH? (+110)
Yes. But it’s fouled back. Idiot ...
Eighth inning
Cut off. Account empty. I use the cash in my wallet to buy a final beer. The strongest they have is 6.1 percent, which is about a third of the strength I’m looking for.
This is bad this is bad this is bad this is bad this is bad this is bad this is bad this is bad this is bad this is bad this is bad this is bad this is bad this is bad this is bad.
Ninth inning
A miracle.
Every day for the last two seasons, I’ll spend a few bucks on the MLB Powerball 10-Team Parlay, just for laughs. I pick the same teams to win, every time, unless they’re playing each other: Cubs, Royals, Astros, Pirates, Rays, Angels, Braves, Brewers, Indians, and Tigers.
It spells out “CRAP RABBIT.”
Which makes me laugh.
The odds are roughly .09 percent to hit on all 10 teams, which means a jackpot on a 10-dollar bet would be something like a 1,000 bucks. But today I put $100 on it. No reason, either. Was just feeling it.
All of those teams won today. Every single one of them. I’ve never hit on one of these.
I just need to find the slip.
The state lottery is literally the only place in the world that still prints shit out.
Why do they still print shit out? Idiots.
It’s not in my pockets. I check six times before I check another six times.
I know I bought one today. I always do.
I know I bought one today.
When I find it, hey, look at that, there’s another game tomorrow. And the day after that. And, well, there are like 1,000 games every year, and they can’t all be this shitty.
They can’t all be this shitty.
I just need to find the slip.
