I can see bubblegum meeting simon befor betty with her girlfriend finding him and all, and i see this playing out two ways. if bubblegum realy does try to sabotage betty alot marcy would hide who simon really is from her, as he is the best bargaining chip. Or simon and bubblegum because BFFs, much to everyone's concern. (They both self destructive nurds who lose themselves to there research)
Marceline does her best to simply Not Mention the connection between Simon and Betty to Bubblegum (and at this point they’re both still kinda salty with the other), but Bubblegum does eventually make the connection and when she does… yeah, it’s not pretty.
This is the guy that the Snow Queen has been tearing apart Ooo over for the last thousand years, and he’s in her grasp. This is the Snow Queen’s only weakness.
Bubblegum, of course, wants to exploit it. She thinks that if she can hold this ‘Snow Prince’s’ safety over Snow Queen’s head, then SQ will bend and do whatever she wants, specifically leaving her Kingdom alone. As long as Bubblegum has the Snow Prince, she’s safe from Snow Queen.
except she’s not.
because y’know what happens when Snow Queen finds out that this princess really does have her prince, and she’s keeping him hostage? oh, HELL no. Snow Queen is ready to throw down, and she ends up attacking the entire Candy Kingdom and freezing a good half of it at the least during her rescue mission. Bubblegum’s plan fires spectacularly, because she didn’t account for just how crazy Snow Queen would go over the matter of the Snow Prince’s safety.
(Simon thought he was friends with this princess, but it looks like he was only a pawn this whole time. He can’t help but be glad to see Betty for the first time in a thousand years, even if the crown has taken her over. At least he knows this is one person who doesn’t want to use him.)

Hmmm… so I am still workshopping some new ideas and revisions for my Adventure Time Roleswaps AUs based on all the New Information and Ideas presented in ‘Fionna and Cake’. But here’s a little something I’ve been dwelling on a lot and would like to get some Additional Feedback on.

I’m loving all the petrigrof role swaps so much and i can’t stop thinking like
simon bringing home the crown and instead of putting it on his own head he puts on betty’s because “a beautiful crown for a beautiful princess” and when it makes her go mad he’s just so consumed with guilt because he’s the one that put it on her.
he jumps through the time portal so he can right the wrong he did. betty obviously doesn’t hold it against him because how could she but he’s just so consumed with guilt he’d do anything to get back the woman he loves.

how would ice betty react to seeing 'her prince' again? Would she even recognize him and if so how would she treat simon?
oh she recognizes him on the spot as soon as she finally sees him. She can’t remember his name, but she knows it’s him and immediately yoinks him from whatever was going on to fly straight back to the snow kingdom with him.
Snow Queen has been looking for this dude for literal centuries, so obviously she’s ecstatic to finally have him back again. she dotes on him and gives him everything he could want and everything he asks for… except allowing him to leave. he can go outside the palace if she’s there too, but she can’t lose him again. she’s terrified that if she takes her eyes off of him for a second, he’ll disappear again and she’ll never be able to find him after that.
and of course, the best ways to make sure he doesn’t leave are to ensure that he doesn’t want to leave, and to ensure that he has no way to leave even if he wants to. her prince is treated like a god, and the only door is guarded by snow golems at every second.
Simon doesn’t like it. it’s not the Betty he knows. she had her moments of hero-worship early on in their relationship, but never to this extent, and it pretty much went away after she related just how often he falls on his face. whatever this is, it isn’t the Betty he knows. there are hints of her personality still there, signs that show him she isn’t completely gone, mannerism she never truly dropped, but it’s getting buried under the guise of a gilded ice prison where Simon is the trapped messiah in a temple that will never be opened.
it’s a long time before he figures out a way to leave.

So how does Snow Queen react to Magic Simon? Does she still recognize him?
It takes her a minute to realise who it is, but she’s pretty happy to see him once she connects the dots. Magic Simon came back to her, after all, which means that her prince loves her and wants to be with her! who cares if he left, he must not have meant to leave permanently if he’s back now.
He doesn’t stay entirely in the Snow Kingdom, but it is where he spends the most time. now that he’s left and come back once, Snow Queen is slightly less paranoid about him leaving forever, and she’s also a little less protective now that he’s got magic strong enough to beat most things on Ooo (keyword there is a ‘little’, she’s still keeping those golems up for guarding and she always likes to know where he’s going and when he’ll be back — just in case). Magic Simon becomes somewhat of a fixture in the Snow Kingdom, and now that she’s got her prince back, Snow Queen doesn’t really bother anyone anymore. they’re all still a little bit scared of her since most of Ooo has seen what she’s like when she’s legitimately pissed off (see: the Sugar Snow War), but she’s just not really causing much trouble anymore.
the greater population of Ooo has taken to calling Magic Simon ‘Magic Prince’, since SQ always calls him a prince and he’s very insistent that it’s not Snow Prince, it’s Magic Simon. this is the best compromise they can come up with, so except for a select few (Finn, Jake, Marcy, and a few others), he’s Magic Prince. Simon doesn’t mind that too much, so Snow Queen doesn’t mind it either.

Fun idea:
While living in the Treehouse, Snow Queen starts to mom Finn (And probably calls him Gunther? Who knows) because he is a kid, and she and Simon live there so obviously he has to be their son right? Now they are a family and Simon its never going to leave again.
Also Simon unwittingly starts to dad Finn around because he is Simon and he cant go around wthout adopting a child.
Finn feels a little weird because, while he already had Joshua and Margaret, these two are humans (Or in case of Betty, mostly human) and he doesnt know how to feel about it. His relationship with Simon could be extra awkward depending if the events of The Citadel already happened and Martin is already going around.
sir ma’am or mx you are a genius.
I’m thinking the Sugar Snow War takes place before Finn goes on his dad quest, so at this point he’s still under the impression that he’s the only human around… except for Simon, who they pulled out of an icicle a while ago and who they haven’t seen much of since he went to the Candy Kingdom. he used to visit a lot when he was in Wizard City, but after that he sort of went quiet. now he’s back, with the Snow Queen who’s utterly doting on him and seems very clingy, and with Marceline, who’s a mix of happy that her adoptive mom got her beloved back, and absolutely pissed that her ex tried to imprison said beloved for blackmail purposes and then went on to destroy her mom’s entire kingdom. Marceline leaves shortly after making sure that SQ and Simon will be good to stay at the treehouse (Jake said yes and what Jake says goes), but that just leaves them with Snow Queen, Simon, Finn, Jake, BMO, Shelby in the walls, and also Gunther, who keeps disappearing randomly (presumably to also be in the walls).
and then Finn comes down from i go stroom for breakfast the next morning, and Snow Queen has already set a place at the table for him next to the penguin and Simon is making pancakes, which is Weird, and Jake is already eating the pancakes, which isn’t as weird but it is a little odd that he’s not the one making them. apparently these two want to contribute to the household or something? Finn doesn’t really mind, the pancakes are good and Snow Queen is being pretty civil.
then it starts to get a little weirder.
she put snacks and a couple ice knives in his backpack before he went adventuring, ‘just in case’? she asked if he remembered his sword and said to have fun in the dungeon? she’s offering him life advice that is probably very illegal but not actually that bad? y’know what, maybe he will beset a wizard with penguins the next time they try to take his stuff. Magic Man has it coming, anyways.
it sort of reminds him of his mom — Jake’s mom first, but Finn’s mom, too. she’d done this sort of thing with a little less crazy and a little more sensibleness, but it’s the same gist anyways. it’s only when Snow Queen tries to fix his hair before putting his hat on him and calls him Gunther that he realises she’s trying to parent him.
and honestly, he doesn’t know that he’s really that opposed to it. sure, it’s kinda weird, but she’s not actually hurting anything. Simon’s been following her example to some degree, helping Finn with puzzles and artifacts, telling him about human stuff from the past, suggesting new tricks and games to try, but it doesn’t really feel like Joshua’s ‘tough love’. it’s something different, something Finn doesn’t really remember experiencing before — the closest thing he’s had to this is Jake, who’s definitely never been quite so parental about his worrying.
honestly, his only questions at this point are whether it would make Marceline his older sister if Snow Queen and Simon tried to adopt him (it would), and whether Jake is getting adopted too (he is).
(side note — Finn isn’t quite so messed up about Martin in this au because as soon as the events of the Citadel have played out, he walks himself straight over to the Snow Kingdom and lays on the floor until someone asks him what’s wrong, and then he gets to have Family Therapy with his third set of parents, since the first are half-unavailable and half-terrible, and the second are no longer around. He also gets to hold a penguin the entire time which is very therapeutic and does not leave him with the desire to rip Martin’s arm off.)

snow queen Betty: Gunther! Meet your new dad!
Simon: you have a kid!?
Snow queen: *hands the pingone to simon*
Simon:.........
the plethora of penguins following him around like ducklings is probably one of Simon’s favorite parts of the Snow Kingdom, honestly

Wizard City must have been so disappointing for Simon, imagine being an antiquarian and hearing about a ´place where the secrets of the universe and relics older than the stars are held and when you get there it's a bunch of nerds jerking each other off to how cool they are and casting testicular torsion spells at passerbyes.
Simon is rather disappointed by most of the people in Wizard City, but he manages to find a library with a ton of old wizard texts and artifacts, so he does his best to teach himself how to do magic based off of the Old Ways (aka, magic more along the lines of Maja or Magic Man than Ron James and Abracadaniel). Eventually I think he does meet a few cool wizards, like the Grand Master Wizard and maybe Huntress Wizard, but he generally keeps to himself whenever visiting. He gets along far better with Bubblegum and Peppermint Butler… for a while, that is.
I’m thinking of having Simon actually succeed at learning some regular old Wizard Magic before he decides that Magic Man is his only option, mostly because he seems like the type to exhaust every option before jumping straight to the most dangerous one. Betty on the other hand is a lot more impatient and like to take risks, hence why she jumped to Magic Man so early in the game.

In your snow queen au how would Simon's react to the land of Ooo once he's free from the ice? Talk about culture shock
oh he DEFINITELY freaks the fuck out for a minute there. He went from a Normal Human City to waking up a thousand years in the future as one of two humans in the known world (excluding magically donked up humans like Marcy and Snow Queen). he only manages to get it together and stop being on the edge of a mental breakdown when Marceline recognizes him and realises that yeah, this is the guy Betty’s been looking for this entire time, and he’s actually still alive.
(Marceline definitely thought this Simon dude died during the mushroom war, but she knew that Betty would 1. Never accept that, 2. Probably never believe that, and 3. Might actually forget Marcy said anything about it a week later. Trying to explain that Simon was likely dead would only isolate both Marcy and Betty from each other, which was already kind of happening due to the crown messing Betty up so badly.)
anywho. Simon freaks out for a solid half hour, Marceline goes “oh SHIT you’re SIMON. THAT Simon. yes. so. did you happen to have a fiancée lady named Betty perhaps” and that is what shakes Simon out of his panic, because if anyone can help him or explain this or fix anything, it’s gonna be Betty.
of course, then he finds out she’s been cursed as hell for the last millennia and immediately jumps into I Have To Save My Wife Right Now Immediately mode. they’re not even married but it’s a very important skill he’s learned to utilize because Betty keeps getting herself into things. Betty also has this skill and has honestly had to use it far more than Simon has.
Simon will usually experience a bit of ‘oh what the fuck’ whenever he enters a new area, like the Candy Kingdom or City, but due to his research as a professor studying magical artifacts, he learns to adjust pretty quickly by applying the worldview he already has. it also helps that he gets along pretty well with most of the leaders — PB in particular really likes him, mostly because while he does believe in magic, he also believes that there’s some sort of science-based explanation for the way a lot of magical things function. to him, it’s just another set of rules that the universe functions by, so once he learns these new rules, he feels a lot more comfortable with all of the everything.

Will there be more version of the alternative worlds while the whole gang travels to find a magic crown to help Betty?
originally I was going to say no, but you’ve got me thinking now. F&C would probably happen sooner in the timeline due to Prismo and Magic Simon interference, so Finn and Jake might still be an adventuring duo (ie, Jake might still be alive), meaning that its perfectly plausible for the first thing that Magic Simon and Snow Betty do to be running to the treehouse and yelling ‘GUYS YOURE NOT GONNA FUCKING BELIEVE THIS’. yes they would say fuck and they are two of only three people that still remember and use that slang, and the third is Marceline.
ANYWAYS. Finn and Jake could definitely be present for Scarab’s arrival, and you cannot tell me Prismo would leave his homeboy and homeboy’s brother behind when nabbing the accidents interdimensional criminal accomplices. he wouldn’t. so yeah, Finn and Jake might actually join this adventure! possibly Marceline too if I say she was at the treehouse, which I’m saying now because I like her and I want to see her absolutely wreck the Star’s shit. you know she would. she may not be a vampire princess raised by the Vampire King but she is the Vampire Queen raised by the most batshit crazy woman you will ever meet, and she is feral. Marceline also has more abilities than the Star, due to having cannibalised the other vamps in her world and due to hanging out with two crazy wizards and her science girlfriend all the time.
…also I’m just now realizing that I don’t know if you meant ‘will the whole gang be coming with on the F&C adventure’ or ‘will you add more worlds into the F&C adventure’, so the answer to both is yes. Magic Simon’s gang is a lot more skilled at evading the interdimensional cops, and also Simon is not only a wizard with wizard eyes, but also he’s kinda friends with Prismo and is therefore a little more competent with the universe remote and the crown tracking system.

With the lack of princes in Ooo, I feel like every princess is going to trey to get the attention of the "ice prince" when word gets out (befor betty hears and goes on her rampage) especially when he's in the candy kingdom
ok see. that is a mildly upsetting concept but I can’t say that you’re wrong, aaaaand it’s also kinda hilarious. LSP would be utterly enamoured by Simon until she decides that he’s too nerdy to be cool enough for her. Phoebe is probably one of the only princesses who’s completely normal towards him, and that’s because she’s 1. a teenager who’s not interested in some dusty old guy, and 2. probably still dating Finn at this point with no intention of stopping.
I do think Betty would get incredibly jealous over this, but she’s somewhat softened by the fact that Simon is absolutely not showing any romantic interest in any of the princesses, or anyone but her for that matter, because even if she’s gone bat-crazy, she’s still his Betty and he’s still her Simon.

How's the Snow Queen's relationship with Finn and Jake?
I don’t remember if I touched on this before or not? But I definitely meant to, so I guess I oughta do it now!
so to start off, I offer you some background knowledge. Snow Queen is definitely a bit more manic and a bit more obsessive than Ice King is — less likely to kidnap a princess, but more likely to just appear in random places like dungeons and harass passing folk over whether or not they’ve seen ‘her prince’. think of it like Ice King having more sadness, and Snow Queen having more madness. she’s got sadness in there, sure, but it’s more covered up by the crazy.
Finn and Jake definitely don’t feel as threatened by Snow Queen, because she usually doesn’t go after Princess Bubblegum and try to marry her, nor does she have a habit of trying to get their attention by causing chaos. they don’t really like her at first, but she’s just sort of an unfortunate fact of life: Princess Bubblegum is pink, Finn has a hat, and if you go in a dungeon there’s a 90% chance you’ll find Snow Queen in there bothering people.
after Marceline enters the picture and they realise who exactly she’s looking for and why, they start to feel a bit more sympathetic, and most of their interactions go from chasing her off to offering their help or offering to let her come along on their adventure ‘just in case we find something’. Snow Queen usually agrees because she’s hoping they might find her prince, but she often gets distracted during the course of the adventure and ends up actually having fun. Marceline also hangs out with her a lot, and they sometimes go on adventures together as well, usually under the pretext of ‘maybe my prince is over here somewhere!’
I hope this answered your question, anon! to anyone else who may want to know more about the au, my asks are absolutely open and I would love for you to give me an excuse to ramble. I have a lot of ideas but some of them need external instigation to actually become words, so feel free to ask me any questions you may have!

Would Magic Simon start living with the Snow Queen or would he employ the Betty method of sneaking and fiddling with the crown.
for the most part, he just moves into the Snow Palace and lives with his beloved. Simon’s priority is making sure she has the chance to be happy, and clearly it makes her happy when he’s there and unhappy when he’s not, so he tries his best to stay close by. He does dip out every so often to go to Wizard City or search for magical artifacts that could help her or visit Finn and Jake or Marceline, but Snow Queen will often accompany him for the last two things.

Hmm, Snow Queen and Magic Simon wedding?
I’m tempted to say that those two just decide one day that They Are Married and that’s that, but I think Marceline would suggest that they have an actual wedding, and they both like Marceline enough to consider it and agree.
Magic Simon gets to wear one of those suits with the big frilly train that looks like an open-front skirt, Snow Queen has the single most extravagant ice-blue gown that the world has ever seen. I’d like to draw them at some point but I haven’t had the time yet (there are multiple asks sitting in my inbox about drawing Snow Betty at least, I promise I will get to them soon!!)
Finn and Jake are invited to the wedding, of course, which is held in the Snow Kingdom. most of the other princesses are invited because SQ is usually invited to their stuff and thinks it would be rude to leave them out. Marceline gets to be maid of honor and best man at the same time, Gunther is both the ring bearer and the flower girl except the penguins keep fighting over who gets to be ‘Gunther’ and at the end it’s just a gaggle of them scurrying down the isle with a basket of petals and a pillow holding the rings on it carried above their heads. Bubblegum… technically isn’t invited, because Snow Queen is still salty about the Sugar Snow War, but I think she probably just shows up anyways? She doesn’t cause any trouble though because she still cares enough about Marcy to not ruin her parents’ wedding day.
the worst things to happen are 1. Hunson Abadeer mistaking it for Marceline’s weding and trying to crash it before subsequently getting removed by Finn and Phoebe, and 2. Lumpy Space Princess getting into the punch bowl and trying to disguise herself as a Penguin so she can be in the wedding photos. overal though, the whole thing goes pretty great, and Snow Queen and Magic Simon both wear rings made out of enchanted ice that will never melt and will always shine — SQ made the rings, and MS enchanted them.
