Lol this is my catch-all name for my Things That Go Bump fic series. It started out as a gift oneshot for a friend, and grew so much that it's now 3 fics and counting, but I never updated the doc name. It centers around a little monster who makes his home under a boy’s bed, and the other monsters that call that small cottage home. When the little boy and one of his older brothers mysteriously go missing, the monster who lives under the bed goes to search for him with the monster that lives in the boys' closet. Stuff and things happen. 👀 I love this AU very much but I haven’t updated it since 2021 and it lives under the floorboards driving me to madness in retaliation. ONE DAY I’LL GET BACK TO IT. (ง •̀_•́)ง
“I think there’s a monster under my bed! I can hear it growling.”
“For the last time, Kangmin, there’s no such thing as monsters. It’s probably just the gutters outside. Besides, even if it was a monster, it definitely wouldn’t be there to eat you. You’re way too scrawny. It’ll eat me instead, and by that time it’ll be too full to eat you, so either way, you don’t have to worry.”
“…Thanks? I think?”
“No problem. Now go to sleep.”
Hoyoung stifled a groan and hid his face under his paws in mortification, internally chastising himself for his sloppiness. He couldn’t afford to lose yet another potential home because of carelessness. So, despite his fatigue, he stifled his purrs, quashed his exhaustion, and sat still and silent as a stone until he was sure both boys had fallen deeply asleep. Just as he was again about to fall asleep himself, a faint sound of whispered voices caught his attention. Had someone entered the room when he he’d almost drifted off earlier? It didn’t sound like either Minchan or Kangmin. So what-?
“We know you’re here, bedbug,” came an unfamiliar masculine voice, spoken at normal volume. Hoyoung’s fur bristled reflexively, and he shuffled back until his spine was pressed into the corner, heart hammering against his ribs. “So come out and introduce yourself properly instead of skulking around like a criminal on our territory. Don’t make me have to drag you out from under there.
