Do you have any hcs on how Stan and Kyle navigate their work and relationship and stuff, whether it’s before or after kids? I imagine Stan is away a lot if we’re going by his space force career. Facetime is their friend and one of them has definitely said “I’m your idiot forever” at the camera.

WAUGHH this is such a good ask and really something that I think about constantly. 'I'm your idiot forever'... man... stanky literally in its purest form.

I LOVE space force Stan, ok. I imagine he must feel so fulfilled by it and that is the dream for him!!! I actually don't have a really specific good ending PC Kyle job headcanon, but I imagine that he could continue with his online counseling startup even in the good ending? Bad ending Kyle is obviously struggling to cope with his shitty life, but I don't think that his job is necessarily the kicker there.

If Kyle DID continue with his good ending Post-Covid job, I think it's feasible that he could work from home!! Which is great for obvious reasons but also sucks for him because it gives him way more time to anxiously putter around his computer and await his daily call from Stan. It is 100% the highlight of his day.

If Stan was working in the space force post-kids, it would be SO hard for both of them. Stan would HATE having to leave his kids in general, but especially when they're babies/toddlers and they have so many milestones to reach!! Kyle as a parenting book fiend has hawk eyes on their development, but at the same time doesn't want them to say their first words or take their first steps without Stan there!!

I imagine that during their Facetimes Kyle would show Stan the kids, and Stan would get all weepy... maybe one of the kids even takes their first steps when they see Stan's face on the phone because they're trying to walk to him!!!

Stan and Kyle are SO incredibly codependent that long-distance is REALLY REALLY difficult for them, and I imagine there's a lot of mutual frustration on both sides that they have to practice getting over. Stan would have a jealous streak with Kyle home on Earth and him so far away, and Kyle would be SO fretful over Stan's safety that he occasionally comes off as overbearing. They work through it though!!!

There are many many instances in which Kyle falls asleep gripping his phone, and Stan (who has a different sleep schedule due to being in space) doesn't hang up for hours so he can watch him and feel like he's nearby while he works.

They have the most EMOTIONAL reunions. Whether Stan's away for a week or months, they both sob and clutch at each other when they get back

Similarly, Stan leaving for whatever length of time is so painful for them. Kyle frets over his packing and slips little love notes in Stan's bags for when he digs through them in space.

Stan also records videos of himself talking to Kyle and/or the kids before each of his missions, in case communication isn't possible for whatever reason or worst comes to worst. It is SO difficult for Kyle to not just watch all of them the second that he leaves, but he manages!
