Well, I still haven’t settled on a name or much of a design yet, but I have at least made some progress for my newest Pokémon self-insert!
At the moment, the first part of her story is that she’s basically my stand-in for the player character of the Hoenn games, as this is where she gets her starter and completes a journey around the region, eventually making it into the Hall of Fame. Her team at this point consists of a Shiny Blaziken, Breloom, Shiny Azumarill, Altaria, Absol, and.. something else I’ve yet to decide on. Maybe Froslass? Last time I played Omega Ruby, my team was actually Ninetales/Azumarill/Breloom/Altaria/Mightyena/Latios with the Latios essentially only being there for HM use purposes, so.. it was a bit weird. But I’d like to do another playthrough with this new team, as that will perhaps allow me to settle on a more concrete team composition. She’s not a full-time Coordinator, but she has probably participated in at least some Contest Spectaculars for fun with some of her Pokémon (for example perhaps Coolness Contests with the Absol).
The problem then becomes deciding how her team changes when she visits Paldea after getting into Hoenn’s Hall of Fame, because Blaziken and Absol aren’t found in that region, but I don’t know if I want any of the rest of the team to be swapped out either. I know that a Ceruledge takes the place of her Blaziken, and an Ampharos called Topaz takes the place of her Absol, and since I do actually have a Shiny Azumarill in my Violet file I would say that that one carries over and is the same Azumarill as from Hoenn. But that’s all I’ve got certain so far. The actual team I actually beat the game with was, again, very eclectic (Breloom/Staraptor/Gallade/Tinkaton/Luxray/Dragonite), so I can’t really go by what I used there other than to possibly say it’s the same Breloom. Other ideas I’ve had include swapping out the Altaria for a Frosmoth in a trade with a certain Ice-type Gym Leader, but then I would want to swap the Froslass out to keep a Flying-type on the team, if I even settle on the Froslass in the first place.
Deciding on Pokémon teams is just too tricky when I like so many Pokémon ;w;
