This is a work in progress. Here is a small red oak vase I turned from a piece of firewood this afternoon. The firewood just looked like it had some character and I’ve been wanting to turn a piece of “green” wood. So I gave it a shot. Grain and color looks good and it also has a little bit of spaulting going on too. So far it only has one coat of finish.
