Golf Tips
SET UP CORRECTLY FOR MORE CONSISTANCY There is one thing in particular that is extremely important that applies to everyone from beginners to the leading tour professionals and that is what we call the set up position. A comment that was agreed upon amongst the leading golf swing analysts was that around 80% of peoples swing faults are caused from an incorrect set up position. What we all need to understand without getting to technical is that the golf swing is made up of a number of angles ie spine angle, swing plane ect and if our body is set up to the ball properly we have a greater chance of keeping the club in the correct angle positions and therefore a greater chance of straighter shots. I have always said that a good set encourages a good swing where by the opposite can occur. Don’t underestimate the importance of a good set up. The set up consists of the following-
Grip
Posture
Stance (weight distribution)
Allignment (feet, hips & shoulders)
Ball position
Clubface position
I often see people overlook this area and therefore struggle for consistancy. So the next time you play or practice consider taking a little extra time for each shot to ensure your body position gives you the best chance to deliver a well struck shot.
Good Golfing
TURN DON’T LIFT
Most people I see that have trouble making consistent contact with the ball all suffer from a similar error. Generally the mistake made is caused by the perception that you swing the club with your arms. This problem causes your body to lift during your backswing and from here it is difficult to drop back into the right position for impact. This may result in two things, 1) either you drop down to much and hit to far behind the ball or 2) not drop down enough which cause you to top the ball. Either result will not be favourable and will lack any power or distance The feeling you should be trying to achieve is to turn your body so that your left shoulder has turned behind the ball (right shoulder for left handers). This will allow you to stay level and as a result more consistent contact as well as more power. So remember for better results TURN DON’T LIFT Good Luck and Happy Golfing SET UP CORRECTLY FOR STRAIGHTER SHOT There is no doubt that a good set up position encourages a good swing and therefore a BAD set up position encourages a Bad swing. In my experience I have noticed that the majority of players I witness that practice at the driving range tend to take little preparation time prior to hitting their shots. In fact normal a bucket of 50 balls is finished within 15 minutes. I have been lucky to witness some of the best players in the world and they all take the time to check their grip, ball position and alignment which as a result takes them 30 – 40 minute to finish a bucket of 50.
Grip – whether you grip with an interlocking or overlapping grip ensure that the initial contact with the club is in your fingers ‘not in the palm’ of your hand.
Ball Position – Don’t confuse yourself by moving your ball position with each club. Keep your ball positioned in the centre of your stance with the irons and slightly forward for your driver or 3 wood. As with the irons you need to hit the ball on the downswing and with your woods slightly on the upswing.
Aligment – Ensure that 3 things are aiming towards the target
Clubface
Feet
Shoulders
Try these tips and I’m sure it will help you hit the ball straighter. Good Golfing Andrew Revie-Resident Golf Professional [+673-7138723 (hp) / 3375753 (o)]

Launch Monitor
Tumblr media
The ES 16 Tour does what no other launch monitor has done before, combine doppler radar and photometric tracking technology in one. With this revolutionary design the ES16 delivers more direct measurements and provide the most precise club and ball data available.
Doppler is the most accurate for speed measurements, while camera technology excels in spin and directional measurements. Ernest Sports has gone outside the box by developing the world’s first hybrid launch monitor utilizing both of these technologies
Tumblr media
The ES16 Tour connects to the free Ernest Sports app to provide additional shot data. It allows the user to select their distance to the pin and see live ball flight while additional graphs show ball flight from an aerial and lateral perspective. Analyze your range session by viewing club averages, shot dispersion, shot shape and individual shot statistics.
Save your range sessions by user to keep your data separate from your friends, and watch your game improve over time.
