Chapter 1 | Chapter 2
------
Captain Black grinned evilly as the island came into view, the Mysteron plan he was supposed to enact planted firmly in his mind. Something else though, or rather, someone else, seemed especially resistant to carrying out this mission. Occasionally, the agent still felt remnants of the man he used to be before all this started. Conrad Turner was still inside his mind, buried deep, but he seemed to be surfacing a lot more recently. It was getting harder for the Mysteron agent to stay in control…
Black shook his head. He couldn’t worry about that now. He had a job to do, and he knew just how to do it…
------
“Oh my baby!” Orchid just had to be reunited with her grandmother before her eldest and youngest brothers, didn’t she? “You’ve been away from all of us for so long! Have you been eating properly? You haven’t been doing anything too dangerous have you?” Orchid looked pleadingly at her father, brothers and colleagues. Every single one of them just gave a look that told her she was on her own. She returned the look, roughly translating to, ‘You will pay.’
She spun back to her grandmother, giving her a hug. “I’m fine Grandma. Everything’s fine.”
“That’s good to hear, dear.” Alan cleared his throat, drawing their attention. “We’ll talk more when this is all over, Pam. You go talk to your brothers…”
Once Ruth stepped back, the Spectrum officer found herself with an armful of little brother. “I take it you missed me then, Allie?” She chuckled as Alan squeezed as hard as he could.
“It’s pretty much all he’s talked about since we found out you were coming…” Scott stepped forward to join the hug, trying and failing to hide a snort of amusement.
“Hi, Scooter.” She mumbled into his shoulder, taking in the calming presence that the eldest sibling always seemed to have. Just knowing they were all here made her feel so much better about the success of Spectrum’s mission…
“Hey!” Alan yelled in protest. “I’ve talked about other stuff.”
Gordon smirked, bumping Alan with his elbow. “Oh, really?” Oh no, that was the tone he always had when shenanigans were being planned… “Like what?”
“You know…” Alan gave him a look. “Things…”
“He means he’s just talked about you.” Virgil cut in, also with a mischievous grin on his face. “It really is good to see you, Pam…”
Pamela smiled as she shifted her gaze from brother to brother. She really was lucky to have them. “It’s good to see you guys too…” She sighed. They’d stalled enough. It was time to get a plan together. “If we wanna see each other again after the twenty-four hours is up, though, we need to figure out what to do.” Everyone immediately noticed her persona change to military, and automatically stood to attention. “And to do that, I’ll need to talk to Dad. Alone…” Jeff perked up, knowing what this chat would be about already.
Her brothers immediately understood the subtext as well, and all nodded. The Spectrum officers were more than a little confused as the father and daughter disappeared into a separate room in the bunker. Grey turned to Gordon, who was still looking at him curiously.
“What’s… What’s going on?”
Gordon sighed, and all of a sudden, Grey saw a look that he recognised all too well. It was the look Orchid had when she was hiding something. “Hopefully, something we can reveal to you when they come out…” The ex-aquanaut raised an eyebrow at his former colleague. What did that mean? He hummed thoughtfully. “Oh, and Brad?” Grey froze at the mention of his real name. His colleagues and the other Tracy brothers looked on, wondering how Gordon knew. Neither of them had quite gotten around to telling people who they used to work with… “Don’t think we’re not gonna talk things through when we get out of this mess alive…”
------
“First of all, who was supposed to be up on Five?”
“It was Alan’s month. We tried to get him to stay; he probably would’ve been safer up there. But he insisted on coming home. Said if he was going down, he was going down with us.” Her father sighed. “John wanted to meet you on the runway, so Scott and Tin-Tin picked him up. They touched down just as your plane came up on the radar.”
“Sounds like me and Alan have a similar approach to this threat…” Pamela chuckled without humour. “How’d you guys find out about it?”
“Thunderbird Five has been monitoring transmissions from Mars.” Jeff explained. “There hasn’t been a single threat that International Rescue hasn’t known about.”
“And you haven’t done anything?” Pam asked almost accusingly. Jeff gave her a hard look.
“Sweetie, you know as well as I do that we couldn’t. That’s Spectrum’s job. Not ours. International Rescue hasn’t gotten involved for a reason. We’re reactive; Spectrum is proactive…” Jeff explained. “Besides, you fight for your life in this conflict daily… It’s not something I want your brothers doing…”
“No need to explain, Dad. I get it.” Pam sighed, running a hand through her hair. “I don’t want them anywhere near this war. Heaven knows you guys have enough going on…”
A moment of silence passed between them before Jeff spoke again. “I already know what you’re going to say.” Pamela raised an eyebrow. “Usually, I would say no right off the bat. You know why IR is a closely guarded secret. If I am going to say yes to you letting them in on the secret, I’m gonna need a little convincing…”
Pam nodded, clearing her throat before speaking. “When Spectrum is put in charge of protecting an organisation, we have to know everything. The blueprints, the floorplans, what kind of weapons they have. We need to understand what the Mysterons might use to attack their target. Tracy Island is no different.” Jeff raised an eyebrow. “If the Mysterons know the Tracy family and International Rescue are one in the same, which they probably do; they seem to know everything about everyone, they could easily send one of their agents in to destroy the Island using a reactor on one of the ‘Birds, or worse, the Island’s main reactor.”
“If they know, couldn’t you patrol the hangars yourself?”
“Dad, there are like, three of them. And even One’s hangar is too big to patrol alone.” His daughter shook her head, grimacing. “No, I couldn’t do this by myself. I’d need people all over the place. Preferably with partners. There’s just no way our family can do this ourselves. My colleagues are here for a reason, Father.” Her voice dropped to a whisper. “How can they do their jobs if they don’t know what to look out for?”
“Okay. Thanks, honey.” Jeff nodded. “But I’m still not sure. It’s such a closely guarded secret…”
“Dad. If it helps, no one understands International Rescue’s secrecy more than a Spectrum officer. Our code names are in place for a reason.” She chuckled. “Technically speaking, we’re not even supposed to reveal our real names to each other, but we do because we trust our fellow officers not to pass it on…”
Jeff paused, resting his chin on his hands. “I’ve made my decision…”
------
The room was dead silent when they came back in, both stone-faced. Emotionless. Everyone gave Orchid a questioning look.
She smiled as Jeff nodded, giving his family the all-clear to reveal it to the Spectrum officers. A sigh of relief spread across the brothers. Gordon grinned from ear to ear, smirking at Grey. “Looks like we get to tell you guys after all…”
Scarlet and Blue exchanged looks. “What is this about, Orchid?”
“What we are about to reveal goes no further than this island.” Orchid began seriously, causing her colleagues to nod with equal determination. Orchid spun round to Brains as her family joined her up front, ready to give additional information when needed. “Brains, show them what Tracy Island is really all about…”
Brains nodded, grinning as he pressed a hidden button on the wall. Several panels slid open, revealing live camera feeds of the first three Thunderbirds, as well as an IR symbol in the middle. The Spectrum officers looked on in shock, utterly speechless.
“Gentlemen…” Jeff began. “Welcome to International Rescue Headquarters.” He smirked when he saw the stunned faces in front of him.
“Wait…” Blue was pretty much the only one who wasn’t totally speechless. “What?!”

Trade Secrets
Thundertober/Inktober 2022 Day 29: OC
Captain Orchid had always been very tight-lipped about her background. During the most recent Mysteron threat, Captain Grey might just find out why.
This is a Tracy sister story. If you don't like that sort of thing, don't read.
Continuity: TOS/OCS
Tagging: @dragonoffantasyandreality @thundergeek59 @janetm74 @katblu42 @liseylou @amistrio (Please ask if you would like to be alerted when I update or write new stories)
Prompt list
I'm not sure how long this story will be, but it's definitely too long to be a one-shot.
Chapter 1 | Chapter 2
------
Captain Grey prided himself on knowing the backgrounds of his co-workers. Colonel White had always commended him on his ability to put his fellows at ease. If anyone wanted to talk about anything, including their past, they usually went to him. And everyone did. Almost everyone.
His field partner didn’t. The one person who he felt he should know the most about, well... He had only her codename, Captain Orchid, and her first name, Pamela.
Any file Colonel White had given him when first being assigned to work with her had the vast majority of her personal life struck out, including her family and how she became considered for Spectrum. All it told him was that the information was better off hidden; that her family was likely high profile. Captain Blue’s file was also similarly struck off, as he came from a presumably similar background. The difference was that Blue was estranged enough from his family that he was okay to talk about it.
The duo walked into the Room of Sleep after a particularly rough shift, and strode toward their assigned bunks heavily. Orchid took off her hat, revealing her frazzled hair. She grimaced when she saw it, before weaving it into a neat braid.
“What a day, huh Pam?…” Bradley huffed. Now they were off duty, they could call each other by their real names.
Pamela nodded, shrugging off her vest and falling face first onto the bed. Her response was muffled, but Bradley still heard it. “I don’t think I’ve been this tired since the last national level competition I did…”
“You used to compete on a national team?” Pamela froze, realising the jig was up. She’d have to tell him about it now.
“Yeah…” She blushed. “I’m an Olympian…” Bradley felt his jaw drop. Pamela snorted when she saw the look on his face.
“Cool…” If at all possible, she just got redder and redder. The ex-aquanaut pressed on. “What event? Did you win?”
Pamela looked proud as she announced her achievement. “Gymnast. Multiple events won, and set the record on beam…”
“Well, colour me impressed.” Bradley thought for a moment. “You know, you remind me a lot of someone I knew in WASP. He’s the current record holder for swimming the butterfly stroke.” He smirked. “You’d like him…”
Pamela froze. “Gordon Tracy, right?” Bradley nodded. “Yeah…” His partner suddenly seemed much more downcast. “I’m sure I would…”
Bradley rose an eyebrow, and was about to ask what was up, but the lights on both their shoulder pads lit up like a Christmas tree, flashing white. The ex-aquanaut quickly reached for his cap to answer the Colonel’s summons. “Sir?” He answered, a little exasperated. He’d been so close to get Pam to open up. Based on her reaction, she clearly knew Gordon, and he was determined to know how. Even so, he let none of his annoyance slip into his tone. “Orchid and I are in the Room of Sleep; we just got off duty. Did something happen?”
“I’m sorry to keep you two from your break, and you’ll certainly be granted a few days off if you’d like when this is all over but…” The Colonel sighed. “The Mysterons have made another threat…”
Orchid was on her own headset in a shot. “Against who?”
The Colonel hesitated. “First of all, I’m sorry to be the one who has to tell you this, Captain Orchid, but…” He trailed off. Orchid frowned.
“Sir. Based on your reluctance to tell me, I can only assume that the Mysteron threat holds personal stakes to me, and I appreciate the thought. But you don’t have to protect me from this…” Based on the way her voice cracked, Grey had a feeling she knew exactly who the target was. “You can’t protect me from it… I need to know who it is so I can do my job, sir.”
Colonel White sighed. “Of course…” He took a deep breath. “The Mysterons are targeting your family, Captain Orchid. I’m so sorry…”
Orchid nodded as he said his last statement, eyes squeezed shut. Grey could’ve sworn he saw a singular tear run down her face. “I understand Colonel…” Grey moved forward to put a hand on her shoulder. She gently shrugged him off, determination set in her gaze. “I’m going to help them, sir. No matter what the rules say about Captains attending Mysteron threats they have a connection to. I’m going to protect my family, or die trying…”
There was a pregnant pause on the other end before Colonel White finally said something in response. They could hear the smile in his voice. “There’s nothing in the rule book that goes against helping those you love. Better get moving, Captains...”
------
“Please don’t freak out, guys.” Orchid said sternly as they made their final approach. “When you meet my family, I mean…”
Captain Scarlet leaned forward. “They’re really that high profile?”
Orchid gave him a brief look before turning her attention. “I would’ve thought that would be obvious, seeing as the Mysterons have seen fit to target them…”
“That’s fair.” Scarlet shrugged as they touched down. “Why have they targeted them anyway?”
Orchid began to taxi into a nearby hangar. “My father’s company specialises in aerospace, and is one of the best in the business, and you know how vital that is to the global economy nowadays. The death of one of the industries CEO’s, as well as any heirs they may have, would throw the market into chaos. My brothers are among the best in their fields as well.”
Scarlet nodded, satisfied with that answer. Blue raised an eyebrow. “Wait, how many brothers do you have?”
Orchid smirked. “Five.” Blue’s eyes widened. Captain Grey also made the connection. There was no way…
Before they could say anything however, Orchid opened up the cockpit, grinning as she waved to the lone figure outside the hangar. Whoever it was waved back. “Hi, Johnny!” She jumped down from the aircraft, barely hiding her excitement. Her brother smirked, coming up to meet her in the middle.
“Hey, Pam!” He chuckled. They held each other in a tight embrace for a few moments. The rest of the Captains managed to catch up. “Safe flight?”
“In one piece, as you can see.” Orchid nodded, gesturing to herself as they broke apart. She turned around to introduce the other Captains. “These are my colleagues, Captains Scarlet and Blue, and my field partner Captain Grey. Guys, this is my twin brother, John.”
John waved at them, a little anxiously. “Heya, fellas.”
Grey raised an eyebrow. “Don’t think we haven’t noticed you haven’t given your surname…”
Orchid, or he supposed he should just call her Pamela right now, smirked. John also had a similar expression on his face. “We don’t need to, Grey. It’s written all over your faces. You already know who we are, and who our father is…”
“Tracy…” Blue made his guess. The sibling’s grins widening confirmed their suspicions. “Your father is Jeff Tracy. You belong to the most secretive family in the world.”
Everything clicked in Grey’s brain. “That explains how you know Gordon. He’s one of your brothers…” He frowned. “But why would you keep a secret like that?”
Before Pamela could say anything, an older voice joined the conversation. “The same reason my little girl always keeps secrets…” The hangar fell into a strange sort of silence as the Tracy patriarch, one of the most powerful men in the world, stepped into it. “To protect those she loves, and to protect herself…” John stepped back to give his two family members some room.
“Hi Dad…” She waved, a little nervous. Her father just scooped her up into a tight hug, giving her a peck on the top of her head.
“Hello Chickadee…”
Pamela groaned. “Dad…” She pouted as she pulled away from the hug. “I thought we all agreed, no more embarrassing childhood nicknames in front of friends…”
Jeff smirked. “I’m not that embarassing, am I?”
John cut in. “Nope. You’re far worse…”
“Oh, just let him have this one, Spaceman…” Two new shadows fell across the doorway. Grey’s eyes widened at the familiar voice. “It’s not everyday that Pammy comes home, is it?”
“Hi Gords.” Pamela grinned, hugging both of her newly arrived brothers individually. “Hey, Virg.”
As they finished, John cleared his throat, getting everyone’s attention. “Scott and Alan are waiting for us with Grandma, Brains and the Kyrano’s in the bunker. We should probably get going…”
“Of course.” Pamela nodded, and Grey immediately noticed the shift back into Captain Orchid. The ex-aquanaut tried to avoid making eye contact with Gordon, who had noticed him by now and raised a curious eyebrow in his direction. Everyone’s focus was drawn back to Orchid. “Let’s get to the bunker so we can talk things through a bit…”

I am pleased to introduce my Tracy sister/Spectrum OC, Captain Orchid aka Pamela Melroy Tracy!
The older twin sister of John Tracy, Pamela was an Olympic gymnast, earning the gold on the floor and silver on beam.
She is also a trained martial artist, specifically judo, and is also a qualified astronaut, courtesy of her father.
She started her training to join Spectrum before the plan to form IR was announced to her brothers by her father, and was unable to join, but now acts as International Rescue’s agent within the Spectrum organisation.
She is a field operative, her partner being Captain Grey, who she is in a secret relationship with (Don’t tell Colonel White). She is also in charge of training onboard Cloudbase.
I really hope you guys like her! ^^
