Words once just spoken among drunken coworkers and friends in dingy bars, has grown into an actual plot against the aliens and metas who call Earth home. Operating in cells guided by a yet to be identified leader—the group has turned a sentiment into action. In a world very much like our own, things have begun to splinter in time, and the world itself is in danger from the effects. This world is full of superheroes and supervillains, people who can fly, who are faster, stronger, and more powerful than any average human could hope to be. This is a world of gods made real.

In the year 2020: The world has seen a dramatic increase in the population of superhumans. In 2011 Superman first appeared in the public’s eye, and the world hasn’t been the same since. Private organizations like the Justice League have drawn praise and criticism for their involvement in world affairs and criminal justice, and governments across the world have responded in kind with superhumans of their own. The new arms race is here, and everyone wonders where the finish line will be.

In the year 1940: The world is at war, and things have begun to change from the version of history that we know. Technologies have advanced beyond their historical schedule. People with powers are appearing earlier in history than they initially did. Secret societies compete for power behind the veil of the world war. The Justice Society works to prevent atrocities and keep power out of Axis hands, but will they be able to avoid the dangers from the changes that are already happening?

This is the world of modern gods. One world. Two timelines. Which will you choose, and what fight will you make your own?
