Mechanical fingertips trembled in front of her as her soft blue gaze locked onto them; scanning the edges of them; watching the tips open to allow the exit of bullets if she so wished; though she was quick to close them and have them look like normal ( as normal as they could look ) fingertips again. Everything was overwhelming and confusing; emotions were uncharted territory for her. She was not supposed to feel any of this; & yet when she had met the entirety of SEES, something within her system had changed.

She started to feel things; not only did she want to protect all of them; but she was feeling many other emotions that she could not explain. Aigis felt as though she was becoming human—though the reminder of her room whenever she went inside of it was always a harsh reality; crashing down upon her like a meteor to the earth.

Though her personality and emotions may have developed to become more human, her body was still mechanical. Regardless if she could feel things like joy & fear; sadness & hope…

She would always & forever—be a machine.

  ❛  Is it comfortable, Minato-kun?  ❜   Anzu hadn't budged an inch, somewhat stiff but not to a point where it'd feel uncomfortable for the male cushioned upon her lap. Her hands remained firmly on either side of her legs. She's been in this position a few times, not necessarily familiar with it but used to someone wishing to make full use of the spot he had been in. However, this was different. The way he so casually asked for it left her stunned silent but a nod of her had gave him the permission he sought for. It was more straightforward than she's ever heard; and when someone word for word says to her that he needs it? It calls upon instincts within her that make saying no impossible.

She lets them bask in silent for a two minutes after she asked until finally, she budged & took a peek at his face. The lack of response initially caused for confusion but the sight of his blissfully asleep face tugged at heartstrings Anzu wasn't aware she posssesed.  A quiet   ❛  oh...  ❜   fell under her breath, hands slowly leaving the warmth of the sofa underneath them. 

She's never thought to stare before ...  Always worried that eyes would be peering back up at her but curiosity got the best of her; and she's seen a sight she wasn't familiar with. Her hand gently slips two fingers within the bangs of his hair, stroking the top of his head with care. She knew she had plans coming up but ... perhaps, there were some things worth cancelling for; and Minato getting well rest was definitely one of them.

❛   why ...  do you say that ... ?   ❜      slack vocals are unable to deliver the  ( seemingly neutral )  words with the same nonchalance.  a brief instance of vulnerability showing itself in wide hazels,  the mouth that remained gaping unsightly as she spoke.  how could you say that ?   lips press together into a thin line  /  as if to keep that more personal form of inquiry to herself  /  to compose herself,  the way she always would.

thoughts of death  —  no matter how frightening  —  always failed to bring any semblance of fear onto hakuno kishinami's unchanging porcelain face. yet in this instance, delicate brows remain furrowed, and hakuno makes an active effort of trying to achieve that mien of calm.      ❛   it is only natural to be afraid death,  you do not have put on a brave front. ❜      something about this feels... off. she realizes that with a shaky inhale,  vaguely aware of the increase in her heartbeat, the subtle tremor in her fingertips.     

‘ i'm not scared of dying. ’ those words, minato's words, repeat in her spinning head. ❛   saying something like that,  it's ...   ❜      gaze lowers, the unease she feels almost palpable. it makes her think that some day / soon, he might just disappear from her sight.

why ? comes the natural question from her logical head, which knew of the self - preservation that every living being has. she, too, for all her lack of normalcy had that, and perhaps she held onto that so tightly, as though it were the last vestiges of her humanity / for she is the doll that wants to live, but doesn't know how to / the doll that couldn't comprehend the other's way of staring right into death.

—hakuno kishinami felt like she... understood though, a little bit. hakuno understood that minato wouldn't mind taking up the role of a martyr if it meant the safety of those he cared for. while her head still struggled to wrap itself around that concept of self - sacrifice, her racing heart did. it is an admirable trait, truly, and should he have no issues with it, then she shouldn't either.

This was hard. Junpei wasn’t sure what was harder—Having Chidori die in his arms and give him a second chance at life, or seeing her almost every day and have her not fully remember him. It was almsot as if history was repeating itself—he would always visit Chidori day in & out when she wanted nothing to do with him—before they developed something beautiful; & it was Junpei’s persistence that was admirable in that situation. He got the girl!

And then he lost the girl.

Elbows rested on his knees as he wrung his hands together, a deep exhale leaving him as he moved a hand to remove his cap from his head, using the other hand to run his hand over buzzed hair in thought. He wasn’t sure if anyone really understood what he was going through…but he couldn’t be mad at Minato for trying. The guy gave him some pretty good advice, most of the time.

“It’s hard, y’know? I know she knows who I am—I can see it, but somethings stopping her from remembering…What if she never remembers, man? What am I gonna do?” Junpei wasn’t one to worry about something like this—but his relationship with Chidori had matured him, in some way. He deeply cared for the girl—he loved her; but it was hard to see that she both knew who he was & didn’t know who he was at the same time. Some days were harder for Junpei then others.

“I can’t…I won’t give up on her. Some days are just…hard, man.”
