#it’s a sweet story but i think it kind of overwhelmingly misses the point of why those rifts between roy and oliver in the first place #existed between #oliver was very much someone who valued self sufficiency which wasn’t outright bad but it wasn’t helpful either #so he and roy reconciling most significantly in the wake of roy becoming a father is impt #bc oliver not only respects what roy has made of his life but also feels guilty for how he wasn’t there enough and should have been #but they’re both at a mature enough stage in their lives by then to let bygones be bygones #like idk personally i enjoy that progression way more than a story retroactively removing that rift to where it doesn’t exist to begin with #to be deleted
