HELLO AGAIN
I can't sleep for nth time and I have the most HORRENDOUS Neuvillette brainrot. So hear we go
(You know that verse in Promise by Laufey that goes: "It hurts to be something, it's worse to be nothing with you". Yeah this is going the angst direction if u can't tell I'm so sorry)
Neuvillette with a lover with a mortal lifespan who gets reincarnated over and over. He used to always be successful in finding you, always able to return you to his embrace and love you until it's time to let go all over again. He's gotten used to having you, even if it was different versions of the first you.
But then one time he was just too late. Then you were in the arms of another person, someone else who got to experience for themselves the undying warmth and the love you could possibly give.
So he watches as you spent this one lifetime away from him. Then the next. Then another.
All he can do was watch as you slipped further and further away from him, until he could no longer find you in the crowd, the familiar tug in his heart gone when he saw another incarnation of you wondering around the streets of Fontaine. You became a stranger to him all over again.
There's never a sunny day in Fontaine since.
-:D (I'm so sorry that this my next ask right after the wholesome one the last time 😭😭)
NAHHHH I CANT DEAL WITH NEUVILLETTE ANGST... POOKIE DOES NOT DESERVE ALL THAT!! 😭 But omg reincarnation au has so much potential... Every version of you has their differences but he finds love in all of them! You never fail to teach him new things, something he cherishes greatly. And yet no matter how many times he loses you, he always mourns harder than he did previously. But he knows no matter how many decades or centuries pass, the two of you will find each other again.
And just like how all things should be, he finds you again, beautiful and radiant just like he remembered you, and he goes to approach you... when he is cut off by someone else embracing you. And sealing the deal with a kiss to your lips. He's shocked and conflicted. Neuvillette thinks it's wrong to try and pursue you when you've already found happiness. Even if it's not with him, this is the choice you've made. And so he remains an onlooker despite every part of his body and mind crying out. He's already lived a long time without you, he could hang on for a while longer.
Until he realizes that fate is a cruel thing.
