Howdy im here from the ask box open post you reblogged, i wanted to pop in and say i really like how expressive your art is! Most of my drawings are just doodles of lil circle heads so i dont know like anything about art that's like. anatomically-correct, haha, but i DO know about facial expressions and yours are soo nice! Its subtle enough it feels realistic but its still manages to be so expressive! I only scrolled through your art blog for a little bit cause the art you drew of ash and pikachu really stood out to me as like oh WOW that EXPRESSION i gotta make my ask about that wowie zowie! Theres just something THERE that makes it feel so much more ALIVE and like WOW look at the WIZARD of ART over here breathing LIFE into a TWO-DIMENSIONAL IMAGE

honESTLY expressions are literally my favorite thing to draw Ever!! :'0 I love the concept of cartoony expressions of course, but subtle or "realistic" expressions are what I have the most fun with ;0; unfortunately that probably means a lot of my art ends up looking kinda similar (or has a specific Mood about it; everyone i draw always looks Mildly Concerned lol), but I like to hope that's okay :0 glad u liked the Pokemon art!! that one was just a fun little scribble so it surprised me that so many folks ended up liking it, haha!

oh gosh anatomy is harddddd lol - so I feel ya on that! really the best you can do is just keep plugging away at it. I definitely don't feel like i'm all that great at it myself, but consistent practice with it brought me ahead of where I used to be! so don't stop drawing, you got this! :'D
