We are in the process of planning and building a small offgrid cabin and would like to incorporate a small solar system. There will be no laundry, a wood stove for heat, the well pump will run off a generator to fill a cistern so water will be gravity fed.
Basically looking to run a small refrigerator and some LED lighting, maybe a fan and radio off the solar panels.
I have been looking at some of the offgrid “kits” some of the websites don’t even allow reviews which makes me skeptical. This is not a job I want to do twice. Any recommendations on brand or supplier?
Anyone wired a small DC cabin? I could save some money by skipping the inverter and make the system a whole lot more efficient if I just used a DC rv fridge and wired the cabin with dc lighting and some usb plugs.
