The story of Acelta and Haskill went flower watching. Word count 367.

Look up

Rain had stuck the Shivering Isles the whole night. It turned into a clear day when Acelta visited the garden the next morning.

“Oh no…” Acelta frowned sadly at the sight of the garden. “They didn’t survive the rain.”

Haskill followed his lord's gaze. There were quite a large amount of fallen flowers lying on the ground, still wet and covered in mud. “The rain came thick and fast, sire. I’m afraid they are too delicate against the harsh weather.”

“I guess you’re right. It’s just… not fair.”

“Sire?”

Acelta kneeled next to one of the flowers, “They didn’t get a chance to bloom, to grow. Their future was taken away from them.”

They stayed quiet for a while.

“Life is cruel, isn't it…” Acelta whispered, so softly his voice almost got blown away by the wind.

But it didn't go unheard by his chamberlain.

“It is not up to them to decide who stays, or falls, sire.” Haskill said slowly: “But the fallen does not go in vain. They return to the soil, the very thing that brings life to the tree. Their petals turn into energy, and pass through the tree, to the flowers that remain."

“My lord,” Haskill took a step closer to his lord, “Remember to look up.”

Acelta raised his head, looking up at the top of the trees. There were still a number of flowers hanging up there. The rain had washed them clean. The raindrops covering the flowers were shining so brightly. They all bloomed vibrantly with their heads held high. They were beautiful.

“Those flowers went through this event changed, but they could change for the better, if they did not forget their roots. They carried the fallen’s life, soul, and love with them. The fallen, in return, provided their life’s energy, to nurture and help them become stronger. Even losing their form, the fallen lived through the one stayed. In a way, they were never truly gone. They were never truly apart”

Haskill glanced at his lord. He was still kneeling, looking up, and saying nothing. He couldn’t see Acelta’s face from this angle. He returned his gaze to the flowers on the tree, the ones that stayed.

I know I haven’t given out much to work with, because I’m very bad at posting about my own OCs… the only one I’ve shown so far is my smol Breton girl who I drew once in my Spirited Away crossover. I don’t know if it would even be helpful to the creative process, but I’ll put some details about her, just in case?

Her name is Brenna, young adult Breton, and she’s an Alchemist who is most skilled at Getting Herself Into Trouble. She isn’t even Dragonborn because of alternate start mods haha 😅

She can’t fight, runs crying from Solstheim’s creepy hopping bugs🦗, and mostly just wants to run around happily picking plants and collecting mushrooms! And maybe fishing or other fun things🧺⛺️🎳🎰… she’s kind of my Cottagecore Nature-Loving Gremlin character :)

She may be nearly useless in a fight, but she’s very friendly and kind-hearted, will listen to your troubles and give you a shoulder to cry on or hugs if you want them. Will also happily help people out with any tasks she *can* do. Gives you good-tasting elixirs and potions free of charge, too 🧪 :)

She mostly hangs around Tel Mithryn, which Neloth doesn’t seem to mind as long as she’s not a nuisance. Helps out alchemist-senpai Elynea, and does all of Talvas’s non-magical chores (Neloth then fills the free time by giving the poor guy even more book-work🥲).

If forced to become the Dragonborn, she would just do what she already does to Talvas when she drags him out as her safety escort, except on a bigger scale.. She’d gather every companion she could find into her party, and every skirmish would be them doing all the fighting while she hid behind a rock 😅

If they met, I think she’d get along well with Jokir, appreciating his positive energy and also cheering him on with whatever zany antics he might be up to 😀 

To Naythaa and Sunny, she would be their Adoring Fan, looking up to them like Cool Big Sisters and following them around with starry eyes.. Would ask for advice sometimes, or to hang out and do something fun 🏄‍♀️🏐

And they probably wouldn’t meet, but Acelta would be her Alchemist Idol, she’d wish to be his apprentice and learn all the Hidden Forbidden Plant Knowledge that only a true master would know🌱😮

Local Alchemist needed to be stopped.

My formula of restore fatigue:

Spring salad: lettuce, radish, potato, (optional: apple, orange, watermelon). Unfortunately it has Burden side effect. (if choose orange, you'll get a bonus Shield effect) Can also side with Ranch dressing: cheese wedge, leek, onion, garlic. And this one has Damage Agility side effect. It can be fix by removing the garlic.

Potato soup: potato, garlic, leek. This recipe has Frost Shield side effect. Perfect choice for a cold weather.

Corn salsa: corn, tomato, onion, garlic. Unfortunately it has Damage Agility side effect, but you can get Detect Life in the process.

Grilled cheese sandwich: bread loaf, cheese wedge, cheese wheel. Unfortunately it has Damage Agility side effect. I should have removed the cheese wedge. Sorry Baurus :(

Classic ham sandwich: bread loaf, cheese wedge, ham, lettuce. Unfortunately this recipe also has Damage Agility side effect, but bonus Fire Shield woohoo!

Gyudon: beef, onion, rice

Mix berries: blackberry, strawberry, (we only have two kinds of berries?) (optional: apple, orange, pear). Actually, don't put apple or pear in it. They will cause Damage Health.

Crabby corn soup: crab, corn, onion. You can add cheese wedge for bonus Fire Shield (and Damage Agility) effect.

Chili con carne: beef (/boar meat /mutton /venison), onion, garlic, tomato. Side effect is Detect Life. (Beef flavor will grant you Shield effect. Unfortunately Boar meat will have burden side effect and Venison is Damage Health)

Pumpkin pie: pumpkin, sweetcake (/flour /sweetroll). Unfortunately both flour and sweetroll has Damage Personality side effect

Carrot cake: carrot, sweet cakes

Strawberry cheesecake: strawberry, cheese wedge, flour (/sweetcake /sweetroll). The flour version has Reflect Damage side effect. I highly recommend it.

I headcannon both Martin and Acelta are terrible at taking care of themselves. They're not gonna eat or sleep if they can use that time on something more important, like decrypting evil book or closing gates.

What do your elder scrolls ocs wear when not in armor or battle robes? Casual outfits!

Jo usually just wore the Fine Clothes uncle Sheo gave him in that quest, with the cool Mage's Circlet from Savos Aren. Nay got her dress (Belted Tunic) from uncle Alvor's "Help yourself to whatever you need" gift basket. Dubak got a Blacksmith's Apron. I can't recall where he got it... cough, yeah.

Acelta wore variety of Mage's Robes that does fashion damage to Haskill. (after finding out the secret side effect he stopped wearing them)

As proud milk drinkers, Third Era skeletons are strong, and Daggerfall one are the worst of all!!! They scream like crazy and do it all! day! long! You can hear them from across the room. Not to mention they can kill me in one hit.

Flower picking is my favorite activity in TES game, Daggerfall. My disappointment is immeasurable and my day is ruined XD

But Daggerfall has the true freedom to explore dungeon in all direction!

=====just me talking about dungeons=====

Skyrim dungeon feels like an one way road. There's only one way to walk through this place. On foot and one direction. The quest item is right next the entrance, but the door is blocked. It can only be open on the other side so I have to go the long way. Sometimes they sent me to the same place for different quests. Yeah.

I should play more Oblivion. I remember they also have only one way to go through dungeons, but I have to walk all the way back for some of them? I rarely do to the same dungeon twice. Sometimes I can jump to inaccessible places. That's why I'm not mad at Oblivion XD

Morrowind! I love that one time I randomly look up and saw some space up there I can explore. I also love that time I fell into water just to find a underwater dungeon. And I love recall and intervention. I love Morrowind <3

Daggerfall! Go right, go left, climb up, dive down. Go to any direction freely! Because they're random generated so there's no right way to walk through these dungeons. Leaping, climbing, swimming, crawling. Levitate, Slowfalling, Recall. Elevators, brick doors, floating skulls, underwater tunnels, and lots of secret doors. Sometimes I walk back to the entrance, sometimes I'm in a underwater cave. I once killed the quest enemy for a two minutes walk. I also missed a quest item in a secret door and get lost deep inside a fortress. I'm so glad we have recall spell. Daggerfall's dungeon is way too complicate for it's own good, but that's exactly why I like it! :D
