he should’ve known he would run into her here. it had been two weeks since william had been back in oslo, and he’d been desperately trying to get over her ever since he was back. he was convinced noora wanted nothing to do with him -- she was too smart to even think of getting back with him. finally, he’d caved and let his friends drag him out to some nissen girl’s party. of course, there she was, standing with eva and vilde, looking absolutely gorgeous standing in the crowd of drunken teens. as soon as he set eyes on her, he turned, shoving his friends out of the way. he needed air. he sat out on the steps in front, hunched as he sipped at his beer, ignoring the occasional drunken person trying to spark a conversation with him.

*･˙ ˖✶ overwhelmed did not even count to what she was feeling. it took her a few good minutes to register it all. from hearing the doorbell, to getting up and opening the door. to find him there. the rumors of him being back had not gotten to her. she had not believed them. she wouldn’t. not until her own eyes saw it. that moment was N O W- yet, she still could not possibly fathom it. ❝ william.. ❞  her voice was weak. she did not want to feel ashamed. from the moment she had decided to leave london, she had never questioned her choice. she believed in them. she knew there was more for them. now that he was here, and the moment was real- she could barely stand to look him in the eyes. she knew she had caused him pain. hearing his words made tears sting in her eyes. she closed them. stopping the tears from falling. all she could do was nod. ❝ i’m sorry. ❞

william just couldn’t shake the day that noora had left back for oslo , something of a constant loop within his mind that kept him from putting in his best effort. he’d gotten so caught up in the job and how p r o u d his father seemed of him that he hadn’t even thought to see how noora felt about all the change. things had seemed to be going well (  for h i m s e l f at least  ) , but he knew now that he had been looking at things through his own narrow point of view. 

the trip back to olso seemed to drag on longer than usual , scenarios of how he’d make his return playing throughout his mind. did she even w a n t to see him now ? it’d been weeks and she had l e f t , but he couldn’t allow them to end in that way. their story was not yet finished. ( let me take care of you like i couldn’t in london. ) those were the first words to run through his mind and the first to spill , soft eyes never faltering from the blonde that he now stood before. 

he shook his head at the apology and didn’t hesitate to close the distance between them , bodies colliding with one another as arms wrapped tightly around noora to pull her into his tight embrace. his hand rests against the back of her head , lips placing a gentle kiss atop her hair , and his eyes fall closed.  ❝ you have nothing to be sorry for. ❞  hushed words are spoken loud enough for only her ears and he refuses to release her from his comfort , like she’ll s l i p away if he does.  ❝ i’m here now. ❞
