hhhhhh the way watercolor as a medium FORCES YOU TO NOT BE CASUAL ABOUT CREATING

#like fuck!!!!!! #the paper is SO F U C K I N G E X P E N S I V E #and as someone who hates pre-sketches and wants to straight up jump to work #the price tags are so anxiety inducing they're looking at me like ''i dare you to fuck up and not like your work <3'' #with watercolor the invest in equipment is so pricy that you just dont feel like you can afford to not be superb at the craft #or just start something for fun and explore things #it Has To Count because when it doesn't it just feels like you're being so wasteful with your resources #like my dude i just want to do a tiny painting i dont need that kind of negativity in my life #and then the paper FUCKING WARPS #no wonder i moved to color pencils eons ago even though i adore watercolor textures #and i hate the lack of texture on glossy papers so that wont do either #w h y is watercolor paper so expensive though!!! #i hate it when you have to pay so much for art supplies that you just become terrified of creating because One Single Wrong Move #and you're toast #(this is just me i hate preparing and complicated art rituals -side eyes color mixing-)
