Every payday, the first thing I do is pay the bills due for that check and the second thing I do is peruse my Book Spreadsheet where I have an ongoing list of m/m romance books that I want to own in paperback

I’ll buy $30-$50 worth of stuff from that list, the amount depending on how much money I have left over after bills

Whatever I have after bills & books, that’s what I survive on until the next paycheck. It’s a system I developed when I started my new job almost two years ago now and it’s working great for me if I do say so myself

So you KNOW that it has to be bad when this pay period, I spent my allotted book money on stuff to clean up my back yard with.

I have 3 sheds in the back yard, two that came with the house and one that I bought a few years ago because the other ones are very very old and have a lot of termite damage

My brother is a hoarder and has done nothing but pile junk around those sheds for years—some of the stuff dating back to before I ever moved in with my grandmother—and I can’t stand it anymore, I gotta clean that shit up

I’m not normally a work-in-the-yard person but once in a blue moon I get that Urge and I just have to ride that wave until it’s over

My grandmother will be happy though 😂 She likes a pretty yard
