It’s really sad how mean Gaylors are being towards Joe. They truly have nothing to gain from all of this. They could use this energy to amplify other queer female (particularly WOC) artists but they don’t. Instead, they are upset that Taylor isn’t the doll that they created in their head. They stereotype gay men by circulating photos of Joe from his college days to insinuate that he’s gay. They repeatedly create lies about him not being William Bowery. The way they are acting reminds me a lot of how closeted kids are bullied in middle school / high school.

I have shared a story here before about how two of the most embarrassing moments for me in middle and high school - like as I was sorta becoming yk sexual - were related to people IMPLYING (maybe on accident) that I’m gay.

The first was in middle school and tbf I got bullied a bit in middle school so she might’ve meant it in a gay way idk but like I used to make these Photoshopped edits for all my school projects using female celebs I liked (but on theme so like I made one for a Switzerland project with Renee Zellweger and I made other ones too but the Renee one is where this came to a head and it’s the one I remember best). So I had my little gay ass cover and this girl who sorta lowkey bullied me went “why do you always make these covers with the girls on them it’s so weird” and she might’ve meant it’s weird I Photoshop because it was weird but I just heard the “with the girls” part and almost died and never showed my little graphics again irl I think maybe ever actually.

The other incident was for sure on accident, like it was just banter: a guy friend of mine in high school looked at my laptop screensaver, which was Olivia Wilde in that GQ photoshoot yk the gymnastics one lol and he went “lol noice picture you got there lmfao” and it was an era where gay jokes were funny and that’s defs where he was going with it but because I’m actually gay I DIED and I went “yes I like House” and he was like “???” because that wasn’t the right response and I was like “yeah I like House dude why the fuck else would I have this picture lmfao” and a few days later I changed it to a pic of Hugh Laurie and had that for months before changing it to Amy and Eleven which I felt comfortable with and in hindsight both of whom I wanted to fuck although at the time I just figured it was neutral territory.

Now that’s me sharing my closeted experiences. I’m sure many of you have yours. I’ve NEVER heard of someone saying “ya people called me gay so I went well shucks you got me and came out! Thanks everyone who called me gay!!!”

That's literally the only reason I have why they do that regarding betty. Because he did have writing credits on other songs.. Of all the songs he had credits for.. Betty is actually the one that is written in simple language acc to me.

Idk why that girl hill is even worth dying on for them if it is that because Dorothea is genuinely right there, and that has Aaron co writing but like no one is saying it’s Aaron’s perspective or anything and while he does contribute lyrics it’s clearly mostly her and he’s mostly the music. I think if she were still chronically online she would care a lot more about what they’ve said (particularly making up narratives about her family. Ex: Tolerate It is about Scott). I feel for her though. Being at the center of such a conspiracy theory sucks a lot. She handles it well by not addressing it (which minimizes negative blowback from fans if she confirmed she was straight) and she’s cordial to the Gayl0rs who are not batshit crazy.

Okay, so basically in the summer of 2020 Tumblr user TayTaysBeard (TTB) who is/was the chief Kay said she had proof - PROOF - Karlie and Taylor quarantined together at Tay’s LA estate, which in turn meant like Karlie was probably WB etc. She was like “I’m not gonna post it if their teams feel I shouldn’t because their safety is paramount. I’ve messaged Tree and Penni” and she also @‘d them publicly.

Then she was like “look they’re not answering but I’m still gonna hold off - I’ll post day after Labor Day when I know it’s safe for them.”

Then eventually the date came and she posted Karlie’s story where she had white umbrellas in the background and an aerial shot of the LA estate from Google Maps where there were also white umbrellas and she said “SEE!???”

Idk if it is my illusion that I find gaylors group has been enlarged a lot after folklore came out? Like in the past gaylors are limited to kaylor group but folklore has attracted a bunch of queer and they project onto Taylor and think she is gay. I found half of Taylor TikTok hashtag are about her being gay. And today one of my friend told me “ you know what Taylor is actually a lesbian” (she doesn’t know I am a Taylor fan lol) and show me a TikTok gaylor master post and she even doesn’t listen Taylor’s music much.

I think it’s defs an illusion brought on by TikTok and your own friend group (online and off). I’d say Kaylors were most vibrant in size of group in 1989 (without being conspiracists) in that back then it legit seemed possible she’s dating one of her friends or hooking up with them.

I do think TikTok gives rise to conspiracy thinking across the board and encourages bubbles and silos based on the format and algorithm but I wouldn’t say there are proportionally more Gaylors than before.

That said there are also way more Taylor stans after folklore so numerically, if not proportionally, the group will likely have grown.
