32 Underrated Female Actors of Bollywood

On December 2 of 2019, I posted my “32 Underrated Male Actors of Bollywood” list. In that post, I promised an underrated female actors list soon, and after two long months, I finally got to finishing it. The biggest reason why it took such a long time for me to put this up (apart from spending more time on my other posts) was that there was just way too many unnoticed talents to mention. Many of the women mentioned here don’t fit the typical mold of a Bollywood heroine, but possess such immense talent that it should be a crime to not notice them. So without any further ado, here are 32 underrated female actors of Bollywood. Keep in mind, I am willing to make add more as time passes on so please leave me some suggestions :)

Nandita Roy and Shiboprasad Mukherjee's Windows Productions announced their upcoming film 'Baba Baby O' in December last year along with an interesting poster featuring Jisshu Sengupta and two kids, piquing the interests of the audience about the story. 'Baba Baby O' directed by Aritra Mukherjee revolves around a single father who has twins through surrogacy. The romantic comedy depicts the struggles of Jisshu Sengupta's character to raise his kids single handedly. The film industry has witnessed several celebrities opting for single parenthood via surrogacy, bringing to screen the sensitive subject with a light-hearted approach, Windows Productions highlights the prevailing contemporary subject of non-traditional families in the society. Drafted and shot amidst the pandemic, screenplay writer Zinia Sen wrote the film in the lockdown last year and the shoot began on 21st March 2021 in Kolkata and wrapped the schedule on 9th April 2021 catering to all safety protocols pertaining to Covid. Talking about the movie, Jisshu Sengupta shared, "The story of this movie is very unique and I have never done a character like this before. Working with the kids was the best experience for me because they have given us immense happiness and positivity. As I am doing a Bengali film almost after a year, overall it is a great experience for me. Hope people will like our hard work on the silver screen". Ankur Arora Murder Case

Ankur Arora Murder Case is a 2013 Indian Hindi medical thriller film directed by Suhail Tatari and written and produced by Vikram Bhatt. The film takes up an urgent and disturbing issue of death during surgery and is based on a real-life incident where a boy dies on the operation table due to medical negligence.[3] The shooting of the film started after nearly one year of research and similarities to real life are in this case, not coincidental.[4] The movie released on 14 June 2013 and made a profit of 2.5 Crores approximately. It was declared semi hit.

Dr. Romesh (Arjun Mathur) is a young medical intern who dares to dream. He is in awe of Dr. Asthana (Kay Kay Menon), the Chief Surgeon of the Shekhawat General Hospital. All he wants is to be like him. He lives in with Dr. Riya Srivastav (Vishakha Singh), his co-intern and the love of his life.

However, when an eight-year-old boy, Ankur Arora dies due to Dr. Asthana's medical negligence, Romesh realises that a good surgeon is not necessarily a good person.Dr Asthana does the surgery and finish well and so leaves the operation room. But during recovery from Anaesthesia, the boy develops severe vomiting and starts become bad. The anaesthesia doctor tried to give oxygen and also tried put in a tube through the mouth to give oxygen which takes time but gets successful. Meanwhile Dr Asthana comes back and starts cpr . Then everything goes smooth but Dr Asthana doesn't allow further treatment . Thus the child dies and dr romesh start investigate and finds out the truth through dr riya.

Together with Ankur's mother Nandita Arora (Tisca Chopra), and lawyer Kajori Sen (Paoli Dam), Dr. Romesh sets out on a turbulent journey to fight for what is right. A fight for justice against his mentor, the hospital and the love of his life who is initially against him for the fear of ruining her career and future. All the necessary evidence against Dr. Asthana is destroyed or literally snatched. Dr. Riya, who witnesses the operation, and nurse Rosina, who had informed Dr.Asthana about Ankur eating food before the operation, also lie in court. But later, Riya shoots the confession outburst by Dr. Asthana on her mobile, thus leading to his arrest. In the end truth wins, no matter how influential the culprits and how weak the evidence.
