The Chance of Love

Chapter 4

You had some of your friends in town and could have just crashed at theirs but right now, seeing any familiar soul would make you feel uncomfortable. So you decided to take refuge in a hotel.

Once you found a decent place to stay, you contemplated on whether you should go to work or just take a day off. Deciding it's better to engage yourself into something productive rather than sitting and crying, you freshened up for office. Your body and soul screamed fatigue but your heart and mind encouraged you to go on for this bit.

Upon reaching the office, you sighed before putting on the facade of normality and diving straight into work.

Not very long into the work, you heard someone call your name. Turning around, you notice it to be your boss. A frustrated sigh escaped your lips as you wondered what could he possibly be needing. You walked upto his cabin and saw a man's back facing you. Hesitantly, you entered the premises and a little behind the man, still not seeing his face.

"Ah, there she is, take a seat." You complied and observed the man's side profile. His jaw and nose were long, eyes were sharp and big, cheekbones uplifted still slightly fluffy. The undercut complimented the man's face, the dirty blonde hair color with black roots gave his hair an exotic texture. He was suited well and seemed quite professional, but no bells rang when it came to recognising him.

The man turned towards you with an ever so sweet and shy smile, seeing his full face you realised how pretty he was.

"Hi, my name is Seonghwa. Nice to meet you." He extended his hand.

"___..nice to meet you too.." you shook his hand, a little lost and confused, why were you being introduced to him?

"So Seonghwa and you have been chosen for the new project, hope you both will get along well."

You mentally facepalmed. Seonghwa smirked as his eyes never left your view.

Once the formalities were over, you excused yourself and went back to your desk. It did not take you long to resume your work, for one thing, you were happy that your boss had granted such an opportunity to you. For Seonghwa, he did not bother you. You had made up your mind to keep it strictly professional.

Your chain of thoughts were interrupted by a tap on your shoulder, turning around, you notice a familiar colleague of yours.

"Breakfast?" He asked.

Even though you were starving and your body already felt over worked, you softly shook your head, "Got work."

The man furrowed his brows before sighing, you seemed odd today, "Okay, see you."

You had already resumed back to your work. Your tummy would occasionally remind you to feed it but you would still keep your focus on work, that was until someone placed a pack of biscuits and a mug of tea next to you. Cocking your brow you looked up to the same man smiling at you.

"You seem in the need of this, stop over working silly." He chuckled.

A sudden urge to rant surpassed you as you opened your mouth to reply, but you suddenly stopped and decided to pass the option as you really neither had the energy or felt the need to talk about all the drama that happened with you. Instead, you just smiled at him.

"Thanks Yunho."

"Meet up for lunch?" You nodded in response.

Once it was lunch time, you shut your laptop and headed to join Yunho, who was waiting for you near the exit.

"Minsu is on leave today, it's just the two of us."

"Alright. Where do we go?" You asked.

"There is a Japanese place near by, I am craving sushi." Yunho said, rubbing his belly.

"Okay then let's." You said as the two of you walked towards his car.

Upon reaching the restaurant, both of you were seated next to a large window. Yunho impatiently ordered as you looked around, observing the ambience. Your eyes wandered, until they fell on a familiar figure who has just entered the place. It so happened that he looked right back at you, sending you a quick wave, you awkwardly smiled waving right back.

Yunho looked at you and then the man you were waving at. Since he did not know who he was, his eyes landed back on you.

"Who is that?"

"That's Seonghwa, him and I are heading the new project." You said.

Yunho smiled, "Oh this is why you were called to the office? Nice nice, congrats on the job."

You smiled back.

"I have never seen him around though."

"Me either, mayhaps he is one of those from the merger." You shrugged.

Your food did not take long to deliver, once they started serving, you observed Seonghwa had taken a seat not far from yours but he was alone.

"Should we call him, he is obviously alone." Yunho asked.

"Yeah I guess."

You called the man who instantly looked up and saw you gesturing for him to come with his food. He stood up and walked upto where the two of you were sitting.

"Come join us." You said. His lips plastered yet another shy smile.

"This is Yunho, my colleague. That's Seonghwa, my co head for the new project." You formally introduced the two as they shook hands with eachother before sitting down.

It was awkward at first but eventually the three of you warmed up with eachother over common topics like work and stress.

"So you stay alone? Are you new to the town?" Yunho asked Seonghwa.

"Well yeah, I am new here." He sheepishly replied.

"Whenever you get time, you should check the popular places around." You said.

"Yeah that's the plan."

The three of you soon finished your lunches and headed back to office. Yunho excused himself as he had some urgent meeting to attend, leaving you with Seonghwa.

"So when shall we get to work on the project?" He asked.

"Let's sit after work today." You suggested.

"Done deal."

Idk i didn't get around to writing you and now i'll try to interpret my notes i made lmao

Also good news: That exam i was afraid to bomb? I got a B+ which means it's the best exam this year which really is something because i only take this class because it's it's not as bad as the others but wahoo^^

Ok now for the (very late) review^^

The breakup felt so idk emotionless? Like both were trying so hard to be like 'it's fine :))))))))) don't worry :)))))' it wasn't nice. Also the interactions between them after were very much with the same mood ugh

I really hated the tensions between tea party i'm glad they resolved that. I mean it's clear not all will go perfectly but man do i hate seeing tensions.

The collab with Sparkling was so cite tho? Maybe a bit awkward, especially between Hyunji and yujin lmao. Also it's missing san with pink hair hours. THAT CONGFESSION THO??????? Like first i was like 'good for him for apologising' and then that??? Was kinda a surprise for me really idk how to feel about it from yujin's side. Also a date~ yujin looked so good as well~

Also we finally got updates on the eunjo storyline wahoo^^ I didn't even connect the fact that the disappearance and the suicide were so close together O.O Also i get eunjo so much i too would drop everything in that situation. Also I really appreciate the growth of the manager it's so nice to see^^

Again for tea party: I love that they all get to do the things they want to and bring them forwards individually as well as the whole group^^

The amount of hate i have for Hyeon-o (thr sparkling leader) is growing and growing fr, every new scene just makes it worse honestly. Also he got what he deserved, at least a bit now with the whole having to stay low lmao.

Next week the show, I'm so excitedddddddd like it was obvious everyone was gonna participate but hell yeah minsu content^^

Sidenote: idk what to think of the shax song i don't think i like it that much whoops

Also i told my friends to call me Xon finally^^

Yujin just flipped 180 degrees? idk how to feel about it, but i'm kinda glad he realized his mistake and tried to make it up to Hyunji... like that's so sweet 🥺 tbh i think Yujin and Hyunji are cuter than Yujin and Maha...maybe his obsession with Maha threw me off before :/

i don't blame Eunjo for doing what he did either... yeah i would've done the same in that situation >< but the real question is...why did he have his phone with him on stage?? like isn't that hella dangerous especially when he was supposed to DESCEND FROM THE CEILING??? AKSHAJSG

Hyeon-oh is a lil piece of shit i ain't even gonna censor it for him i hate him so much >:( i was so happy when Ryoc punched him tbh... he deserved it. just wish he had more backlash... like Ryoc got so many articles written about him and stuff and literally no one did a thing about Hyeon-oh :/

FINALLY we get to see the four leads in one place <3 am so excited!! but also very scared... also fingers crossed for San/Yunho/Jongho interactions

which SHAX song? 'Malo' or 'Amen'? i'm kinda impartial to the first one ><
