Gonna post a comic I made soon, but I wanna give y'all context first, so: Future Arc Mirror World rambling, go!

When I was first figurin out what I shipped, Mirror Metadede was supposed to just be Homestuck kismesis-matesprit flippin, but now it's "god they should have left each other a *long* time ago."

I'm usually able to write kismesisstudes without it becomin unhealthy by that relationship's standards, but these two are *awful* for each other. It started out fine but there were signs that it wasn't gonna work out unless they grew from the relationship, and they didn't. Which is how they both start to hate each other more and more until it's more than just a kismesis, it's *pure* hate without much love behind it.

And they've always had some respect for each other, but then in the pre-future arc Dameta cuts S.Dedede's face, breakin their oath to never draw blood in duels and losin that respect in the process. And S.Dedede banishes Dameta from the castle.

So Dameta's upset about that. But then he leaves the Mirror World and ends up spendin more time with Adeleine and Daroach, and he and Daroach start developin feelins for each other and Dameta's a huge tsundere about it, but eventually they start datin.

And then, while trainin, Dameta accidentally draws blood, and he flees, ignorin Daroach callin to him. Bc he's TERRIFIED, bc there isn't that underlyin hate he had with S. Dedede and he doesn't want to lose this, but he thinks he's ruined everything.

It's like the dialogue before the buildup to the final chorus in "Your Stupid Face" (which is my main inspo behind my Darkroach interp):

"What is there to talk about? It's over—I ruined it

Well, yeah of course I'm sorry, but

No, no, don't forgive me!

Why do you do that?

Why—why give me another chance to mess things up?

Because you—what?"

Dameta is so shocked that Daroach would give him another chance, meanwhile Daroach knows that people make mistakes, and he wants Dameta to know that mistakes don't mean everythin. And Dameta just *throws* himself into Daroach bc he doesn't know how to deal with these feelins and Daroach helps talk him through it.

Just... Dameta healin from his previous relationship and Daroach and Adeleine teachin him that he is *completely and wholeheartedly loved.*

But then on the other hand, you have Shadow Dedede who doesn't let himself heal. This combined with Scardee's death causes him to grow bitter and apathetic, eventually leadin to the events of Spring Breeze finally happenin in the Mirror World.

And Skirby is forced to fight his Baba and remove him from the throne, puttin him in the dungeon (also accidentally givin both Dededes a near-fatal injury). So Skirby's tryin to get through to S.Dedede, but it's barely workin. Skirby's now the only one takin care of Medusa, which is difficult bc she's a very difficult child

Essentially: Law of Equivalent Exchange = King Kirb is happy, so King Skirb ain't.
