She could only imagine the lecture she was going to get when she got home. To leave home without her guardians. To walk a strange land. Her mother was going to be furious, but she couldn’t quite help it. Serenity was, as always, too curious about the blue gem she could see from their kingdom. It was nice to get to meet the people of the kingdoms. A smile pulled at her lips as she bent down, picking up a few peaches that had fallen from a young man’s basket as they had passed in the market. “You dropped these,” she said, placing them back in the basket for him. “You’re carrying so much, maybe I can help?”

a hum, as the words register in their mind- a tiny grin on their lips as a quiet laugh shakes their shoulders. “ i’m s-surprised you can even see them. ” they reach up, and brush some of the unmelted snowflakes from ashe’s own head. their voice turns light and teasing. “ th-though, i think you should look in a mirror first, though. ”

“ if i may ask something of y-you- these last few years . . . i haven’t e-exactly looked forwards to the holidays. ” a sadness touches their voice, and they sigh quietly, face pink. “ b-but. would you like to accompany me to the winter festival c-celebrations in town ? ”

ASHE, arrow of justice & ANDROMEDA, stained glass heart.

after the war, ashe was formally knighted and appointed the new head of house gaspard, which had no successors. the young and inexperienced lord faced a great deal of difficulty in governing, until his court was blessed with a new adviser in andromeda- who had spent the immediate years after the war researching and successfully removing the dual crests that plagued their body. andromeda's sharp mind, paired with ashe's chivalric kindness, along with both of their upbringings allowed them both to put the people of the territory first, turning gaspard into the most prosperous commercial hub continent. after several years of establishing stability in the region, the two of them were able to finally marry, and lived out the rest of their lives in a warm and peaceful home.

coffee is a luxury, with the embargo on imported goods placed on fodlan- coffee was one of the things the upper crust of the adrestian empire drank in order to flaunt their wealth and status. while house glaes is by no means an insignificant house, they were not particularly powerful or wealthy. ( the previous lady of house glaes had adored the stuff. and andromeda’s maternal family was all too willing to send whatever they asked. )

“ have you e-ever tried coffee before ? ” andromeda carefully strains the coffee in the press- pouring the liquid evenly between, hands slightly unsteady. “i t-tried to pick one that isn’t too bitter. ” the aroma is almost comforting to andromeda, and a nostalgic smile curls their lips as the steam drifts past their face. “ m-my father prefers this particular b-blend, but he also doesn’t like b-bitter things. ”
