Not to be Musical Theatre on main but some people really refuse to sing the notes as written don't they

#sasha speaks #in my experience people who constantly add riffs and stuff like that can't actually sing very well #it's an...interesting tactic #if the score says ad lib or cadenza then knock yourself out #and some songs are definitely more flexible #but like. would it kill them to sing the damn song the way it's supposed to be sung #the first time I saw les mis live the éponine kept doing ridiculous riffs during on my own #and it really took me out of the moment #like girl. you're supposed to realise that you've been lying to yourself all your life you are not mariah carey in this scenario #on my own is already memed on enough as it is you don't have to add to that #anyway I'm considering on going back to musical theatre in september so I have a lot of Opinions #musical theatre has some of the most insufferable people you'll ever meet
