hi everyone. i have a new AU in the works (im sorry) called the multicare AU! :] it's a different take on pollarrydoomi pretty much that isn't exactly like cometcare (similar to nightstars but not quite, theyre not teenagers and the other cast is there)! i don't wanna give too many details about it yet, but it's a 2010s-type nostalgia AU kinda like how nightstars is a 2000s nostalgia AU. i hope i can share more stuff for it soon !!!!

about the barry fat thing, that's a prime example on why i don't like the new sparklecare art style. like in 2019 the art style was expressive, colorful, and appealing to look at. it has it's charm and personality. now everyone's just skinny and looks like a bland generic flash cartoon you'd see air on some obscure overseas TV channel. i assume the change was to make it easier and faster to draw which i guess is valid. comics can be a bitch to draw and keep consistent. but idk man, i wouldn't sacrifice a beautiful art style to make stuff quicker. good stuff takes time.

also still upset over the multicare polly thing. scene mood was absolutely fantastic but what's with polly's disability essentially being erased for an aesthetic based AU? "he manages it better" managing a disability doesn't make it suddenly vanish??? i feel like if polly's disability was more 'realistic' and didn't involve his body turned into ice people would be more upset over that. oh, i forgot, it's by the all mighty kittycorn god. we shall never question what we're told

Also you're not alone in being weirded out by them erasing Polly's disability. If the disability was something real and they (for example) used a mobility device and kittycorn removed that with the same excuse people would be FURIOUS. But because the disability is "become ice cube" it's just ignored. That's the issue of making shitty fake disabilities in your story, they just don't relate at all to real life and end up ringing hollow at the claims of "representation".

The fact that Jay, Polly, and Jean can be boiled down to "the short disabled one", "the flirty disabled one", and "the one in a wheelchair" is, like... not great. Especially considering Jay is part of the main five and Polly is a main Comet parent. And if there IS more to them, I don't remember it. Which... is also not great, because that means they're boring.

i know were only four volumes in and theyve only appeared in one of them but i seriously dont like this. i may be able bodied but having your physically disabled characters be so easily forgettable is objectively bad writing, especially for a comic that wants to "represent everybody". polly having two feet of the same direction is also completely retconned in the aus, and in multicare her uncommon cold is completely gone because "she manages it better" or whatever
