I absolutely hate it when I’m looking for an artist to commission, and they only offer them through their patreon…

Mmm yess, lock the possible opportunity of throwing obscene amounts of money towards one work, behind a subscription paywall. Guaranteed every time the artist has more patrons than commission slots, so I’d need to essentially shell out my entire commission budget to continue to have a slim chance, of grabbing a commission slot.

I 100% get that people can do what they like, and I respect that autonomy. I do not go into their space and whine or complain about their paywalls, I simply mutter ‘that’s a shame’ to myself, and look for someone else. But still, I needed to shout this somewhere, and what better place, than the void of my smol tumblr.
