“it was all one big mistake...

she didn’t mean to, no.

oh boyoung wasn’t the type to wreak havoc: a straight O student, on student council and a member of various clubs, with a promising summer internship at the ministry. she’s not irresponsible, godric no— but when the headmaster had declined her request for a time turner (the tight schedule was beginning to get to her), oh boyoung found herself pulling more and more all-nighters.

she didn’t mean to fall asleep as she was mixing in the rose thorns and peppermint (the potions club were practicing variations of love potions— just a fun exercise to distract from the monotonous school schedule, they thought), and she sure as heck didn’t mean to distractedly pour the finished mix into the batter for the baking club’s cupcakes when she startled awake.

and that would be fine and all, if that batter wasn’t meant for yosul’s annual commencement dinner party, held every april 1st since 1959.

everything was running smoothly, until the desserts were rolled out on the gold-finished pastry carts. one bite, and the eater suddenly found themselves inexplicably obsessed in love with the first person they happened to lay their eyes on.

and oh boyoung? she found herself conveniently far away from the party the moment she’d realized that her love potions were dumped into the wrong cauldron.

what? there’s no way she’d lose out on her summer internship.”

yosul’s annual commencement party is held every year in the grand dining hall, which for the evening is transformed into a spacious venue for dinner and drinks (although alcohol is charmed to bubble up and combust in the drinker’s face if the drinker is underage— first to third years, stick to your virgin daiquiris).

the party is not just for staff and students, but alumni as well.

black-tie event, although not strictly. dinner is served at 6 pm.

(the specific love potion used has a life-span that is broken once the clock strikes midnight; the side-effects? sheer embarrassment).

this site-wide event can be played out until the end of july. any form of posts is fair game! (i.e: you don’t have to only para, you can also script for rapid fire or send inbox messages etc.)

the eve of autumn...

with the arrival of autumn comes the annual celebration of chuseok, a three-day harvest festival with an emphasis on togetherness, sharing, and familial bonds — both with the living and the dead. there are traditional foods to be eaten, folk games to be played, and gifts to be given, all in honor of the bountiful harvest. it’s traditional to visit one’s hometown during the holiday, meaning a rather empty sharehouse for those tenants who are far from home, have no funds for travel, or don’t have family to celebrate with. but hey, might as well forge new traditions, right?

this event will go from 9.23 to 9.30, though in actuality, chuseok is only a three-day holiday, lasting from the 23rd to the 25th. the main celebrations are with the family, usually in one’s hometown. for characters not native to korea, or those who don’t have good relations with their families, this is a chance for them to get a little emo, or to have them create their own kind of hodge-podge chuseok in the sharehouse. 

this is an excellent opportunity to delve into your character’s family life!! it’d be neat to see self-paras about the chuseok celebrations (or lack thereof), or even fancasts of your character’s family.

Come one, come all! It’s time for our first ever Masquerade Ball! The Society for the Promotion of Elfish Welfare is hosting a Masquerade Ball in order to raise awareness to stop the outrageous abuse of our fellow magical creatures and change their legal statuses.

The price for admittance is ten shillings per attendant. Keep in mind that this is a Masquerade Ball, meaning masks are mandatory! Please arrive at the Main Atrium of the Ministry of Magic on October 11th, 2028. Doors will be open for entry at 7 o’clock that night. There will be dinner, drinks, and dancing, so please come and enjoy yourselves!

ohohoho it’s finally here: the pairings for the event!! below the cut, you will find a list of who is affected by the love potion and who-loves-who etc. you’ll find some love triangles in the mix, just to ~spice things up a bit :^) the number is uneven atm, but the sign-up will be open until friday the 19th at 11:59 pm pst to allow for new applicants to join in on the fun if they so choose! if you would like to join in on the match-making portion of the event, please like this post here. now, onto the fun stuff!

JOIN YOUR FELLOW TENANTS FOR A NIGHT UNDER THE STARS...

summer has come to an end, and with that comes one of landlady insuk’s signature seasonal parties. the rooftop is decked out in twinkle lights and summery decor, and an array of delicious barbecue, fresh roasted veggies, and — of course —booze is laid out on a picnic table. for entertainment, there’s a crappy old projector for late-night movie viewing, and a tiny stage setup for any and all impromptu performances. this is a chance for new arrivals to get to know their housemates better, and for long-term stays to reconnect and let loose. and who could say no to a free home-cooked meal, right?

this event will last from 9.3 - 9.10, though canonically, it’s all taking place in one night, and any threads started can definitely be continued past that date. basically, it’s just a fun end-of-summer party that all the tenants are invited to attend, which gives your muse a chance to talk to muses they haven’t yet! there’s a ton of food, lots of alcohol, and all sorts of opportunity for artistic muses to show off their talents to their housemates.

This weekend, October 12-13, we will be having a masquerade ball event and a rebel meeting event. This is a reminder that if you wish to participate in the rebel meeting event, that you must have at least started your task if you are doing it in para form, and completed your task if you are doing it in self-para form.

If you have yet to sign up for rebel meeting event and wish to participate it is not too late to sign up! Just send a message here indicating which character(s) you wish to participate, and if you have a preference as to whether you are given an individual or group task.
