Khajjiar was delightfully brought to everyone’s notice when the then Swiss envoy called it as “Mini Switzerland”, owing to its topographical resemblance with Switzerland. Located 20kms away from Dalhousie , Khajjiar is a dreamy little place with thick Deodar and pine forestation , a picture perfect saucer shaped lake that is covered in snow in winters, great trekking paths with rewarding views. Khajjiar lake has become a hotspot for adventure sports like paragliding and Zorbing during summer months. On clear days , you can catch glimpses of Pir Panjal range from here. Other places of interest nearby are Kalatop National Park , Dainkund peak (can catch view of Mani Mahesh peak from here). With prior permissions can also visit one of the many apple farms around Khajjiar.
