it's incredibly amusing to me that lark and phineas were the first ones to set out on a rescue mission and it was this whole big moment for both of their arcs and yet harry/saskia/tzila all got to sherman first. relatedly, the funniest possible thing to happen next would be for lark and phineas to also show up to this apartment, if only because i desperately want everyone to have to explain to the two of them what the hell Hieronymous Fucking Loxlee is doing in this situation

So, the appendix for Season 3 Episode 2 of Midst [link] is a pocket book, opened to its introductory pages, but I noticed that if you look closely, you can see the text on the previous and next pages! It's a little hard to read [to say the least], but @captainofthetidesbreath quickly flipped and edited the image which made it much easier!

Fantastic episode of Midst today, but I realized that while Phineas's archetype/arc is one I absolutely adore, it's one that is almost always given to male characters. It's the role of someone who has attained a position of prestige and honor, often coming from humble beginnings, and been in it for a time and defined themselves by this position only to irrevocably fuck it up.

There's no reason per se why there are so few women in this sort of position, and it got me thinking that this could be a fantastic potential arc for Imogen. It's a slightly different twist, but still gets to the core of it were she to somehow completely destroy her desirability with the Vanguard - or even more so, lose or limit her powers. I have no doubt Laura can do it, too; Vex was not this archetype, but she had the personality of someone who could have very easily fallen into it.

man not to read too much into spahr's "there was a reason i picked him" about phineas but. i am always keeping in mind that spahr pulled phineas out of the delta personally. he didn't meet phineas as a prospective adsecla he met him as a scared little kid! maybe it wasn't so much that spahr actually thought phineas was the best choice as that he really wanted to believe he was. maybe without even being aware of it! how could he not want to believe in the rags to riches of it all? something that started with that scared little kid HE was able to help save? a tangible representation--beyond valor--of something good he did? but now of course that whole narrative has crumbled around him! phineas did something horrible (that was all spahr's fault as far as he's concerned) and now phineas is dead! that's it! story over! :)

We did already know this based on the fact that he bagged both Lark and Harry, but the latest appendix really is just rubbing it in our faces that if there’s one thing Sherman’s got in abundance it’s game. He incurred caenum for getting too much pussy + dick. they needed to take his ego down a peg. He sold out Lark because he was tired of being the most sought after person on Midst.
