💗— Do they noticeably change once they’re in love? Is it easy to notice or just something their partner would pick up on?

I’ll put them in categories since some are similar so I don’t just repeat myself lolol

From Not (really)Noticeable to Most Noticeable:

Niamh- No, not even Chase picks up on it, for all his perceptiveness (or doesn’t CHOOSE to pick up on it, maybe is the better description). Niamh is changed by other factors in the story in an externally noticeable way, but when it comes to romantic love, especially in the situation she is in (and she does fall rather hard and fast for Chase in spite of it all) she makes marked efforts not to show it. An observer who is very familiar with her will see it in her eyes, if they catch her in the right moment, but she’s fairly elusive.

Dahlia- Its extremely subtle, but only when her partner is around. She’s probably my most talented actress as far as being Business as Usual when they’re not around. She is more prone to slowing down her usual breakneck pace which could be a potential tip-off.

Trystenne- that middle ground of Yes were aware but let’s not make a big Thing out of it. She becomes more of a champion to the person she’s in love with and doesn’t notice- advocates for and is more protective even if they don’t need it. You’ll hear a lot more “did you eat/get enough sleep/what do you need?”

Vesper- thinks she’s slick. She really does. Thinks she’s a Dahlia but is really a Loreley. At best. She catches herself though giving heart-eyes or daydreaming about them and forgetting what she was doing mid-task because they happened to catch her eye and smile at her. If someone calls her out she’s good at denying it convincingly (putting the Gaslight in Gaslight Gatekeep Girlboss fr) but like. You know. 😏

Loreley - Yes. You know when people say that love is transformative? That’s Loreley. She just seems lighter. Will get hit on more because she glows.This is for reciprocated love, though- unrequited has the opposite effect. She becomes more withdrawn, quiet.

Ysa- glaringly. GLARINGLY obvious. Like. Wow. Cringe. Lovesick/lovestruck/lovedumb she wears her heart on her sleeve and while she’s competent enough not to like… let it impede her functioning or make it super weird for anyone else, people know within 5 minutes of meeting her that she’s whipped.
