Maurizio Millenotti | Costume for “The Importance of Being Earnest” | c. 2001 (set in 1895) • • • Millenotti designed this exceptional costume for Judi Dench in her portrayal of Lady Bracknell in the 2001 film adaptation of Oscar Wilde’s “The Importance of Being Earnest”. It’s dripping in Belle Époque femininity and grandeur but the power and awe of the character is not diminished in anyway.
