Matthew Schreiber “Sideshow”

Sideshow is an exhibition of Matthew Schreiber that took place at the Vogt gallery in New York. Schreiber is an artist specialized in light and holograms and was recently involved as a chief lighting expert for the retrospective of another master of light installations James Turrell. He decided to emerge from the shadows and create his own show with a center piece called GateKeeper. It is a site-specific laser installation that engages wall drawing and artificial fog in a blacked-out enclosed room. The resulting work is an immersive environment enveloping the viewer in a wash of immaterial geometric forms. You can walk around alone in this room in between those laser beams play with their reflection create your own geometrical figures.
