KIRANA + NADIA
Kirana let out a muffled yawn as her lady-in-waiting fixed her hair in an up-do of loose braids. “Didn’t sleep well, miss?” Anne spoke . Glancing into the mirror, she notes the small look of concern written over the woman’s face. She shook her head, rolling her shoulders back as if that would rid herself of the odd kink in her neck. “Couldn’t fall asleep... Must’ve had too much tea during dinner last night...” A faint heat crept over her neck, knowing that wasn’t exactly the cause for her restless night. Anne’s brow rose slightly knowingly at her response and Kirana’s gaze ducked away to not meet hers again.
The truth felt more embarrassing to say out loud even if Anne knew exactly what the princess was thinking. She’d been told a week ago that Nadia was due back to the kingdom. That had been exciting news in itself, but it was nothing to the excitement she felt as she was told that the woman would be a guard within the castle. Everyone knew that the pair had been childhood friends, the pair had nearly been inseparable once Kirana had grown attached to her, but the princess’s apparent crush on Nadia had been apparent to anyone that had kept a close eye on her growing up.
It was difficult not to run out of her room once Anne had helped finished her dress. But Kirana did give herself one more look over in the mirror before heading towards the dining hall for breakfast. She kept glancing around, hoping to spot her old friend somewhere along the way, and when she finally did, her heart skipped a beat. Unable to stop herself, Kirana picked up her pace and hoped she’d catch the other’s attention before heading inside. As Nadia’s gaze fell in her direction, Kirana smiled widely and put her hand up in a wave.
“Nadia, hi,” she uttered out breathlessly. “I can’t believe you’re back--I mean, I’m excited you’re back, and you, well you look amazing. Or is there a different word I should use to compliment one of the kingdom’s newest guards?” She was rambling and she knew it, but she didn’t know how to stop herself. Regardless of the years that had passed, and aside from the crush she’d had on Nadia, the other woman had still been her closest friend once upon a time. “Sorry. I’m just so happy to see you and have you back.”

A New Type of Lot in Town
We know apartments and multi-residential rentals have been highly requested by players, and we wanted to ensure that this feature offered enriched and immersive gameplay that expands on the multitude of storytelling opportunities. The Sims 4 For Rent Expansion Pack introduces a new dimension to housing options, enhancing the overall depth and complexity of Sims’ relationships, personalities and experiences.
For the first time ever in The Sims 4, Simmers can build a fully customizable multi-unit dwelling where multiple Sim families can live on the same lot. This is possible in ANY liveable The Sims 4 world!
In Tomarang, these gorgeous dwellings feature versatile wooden window shades, homes on stilts near scenic beaches as well as historic bridges. For interiors, there are traditional wood carvings and rattan furniture available alongside traditional Southeast Asian-inspired rugs, chairs, tiles and lamps.
New Residential Rentals allow a Sim to get creative with fully customizable multi-family dwellings. Give your Sims a basement suite to rent out, create a cozy duplex for close families or even build spacious apartments for large families.
Community events, like a Potluck and Pool Parties, provide the perfect opportunities for Sims to engage with their neighbors and get a sense of community within their Residential Rental.
Property Management
Sims can soon evolve into savvy Property Owners and live amongst tenants or maintain separate residences while generating income from multiple property investments. While being at home can be relaxing, Property Owners may face a tenant revolt if you allow your ratings to slip too low, amongst other potential surprises including insect infestations, and challenges including mold.
To further immerse players into the world of For Rent, Sims can gain four new Aspirations, five Traits and a new Fear that help create unexpected and exciting stories. Tenants can experience evictions, and as a result, Fears now include a tenant being afraid of being evicted due to misbehavior–but don’t worry, you can always give someone a second chance!
On the flip side, Property Managers have their own layer of responsibility. It's not all fun and games! Property Owners can visit and do inspections, shoring up any broken objects—including the new Water Heater and Electrical Fuse Box utility objects. No Tenant is going to want cold water or flickering lights.
Sims can also have Aspirations to become the nosiest of Seeker of Secrets, a Five-Star Property Owner, the local Fount of Tomarani Knowledge, or a Discerning Dweller–the best neighbor and tenant ever. To make these communities even more interesting, Sims have five new traits. Sims can be Nosy, Generous, Cringe, Child of the Village and the Elder specific Wise–as wisdom comes with age.
If you purchase the For Rent Expansion Pack anytime from November 2 to January 18, you’ll have access to our Street Eats Digital Content, which allows you to bring the night market flavor home with a grill cart, street umbrella and fruit basket.

Being busy with real life, so I just watched The Sims channel on Youtube, I found youtube video
EA what is this? l Sims 4 For Rent Expansion Pack by Matinee
Ha ha ha.
"Coconut rice"?
What the ****, EA? As a Southeast Asian I never heard of term "Coconut rice"
I asked my real friend from Malaysia, and she was confused with word "Coconut rice" too, she laughed then replied to me, "You mean Nasi Lemak? *laughing emoticon*"
^ Yes, seriously, but I cannot show her chat screenshot due to privacy.
Probably Coconut rice is word invented by Westerners or White Caucasian race. As if the word sounds like "Rice" with grated "Coconut" toppings, which sounds very misleading.
As Southeast Asian, we say dishes that have rice cooked with coconut milk in direct name of the dish, not just "Coconut milk rice" or "Nasi Santan". Malaysians call it Nasi Lemak. Indonesians call it Nasi Uduk. Thais call it ข้าวเหนียวมะม่วง (Khao Niao Mamuang) --> Thai Mango Sticky Rice
Here are pictures of Coconut Milk. For this kind of product it is called "Coconut Cream" because it has little amount of water. 100% legit my own photos I took from nearby minimarket.
By Googling "Nasi Lemak", here is the result:
How could EA, as big massive company make stupid mistake like this? Designer is not just 1 person in studio. There are Intern, Junior Designer, Senior Designer, Supervisor, Art Director. And there are a lot of people in the studio who can supervise and give feedback and advise internally. And yet they cannot Googling "Nasi Lemak" properly. What's the point of Supervisor and Art Director once again? Makan gaji buta? Eating salary without giving effort at all?
EA wrongly represented Nasi Lemak with random rice texture, but then they decided to just "renaming" it with Western/White Caucasian term "Coconut rice" instead of giving update correct Nasi Lemak mesh.
As a designer from corporate who had worked in video game company before, I can tell you this apologize is not sincere and lazy. The proper apologize is supposedly making proper new mesh update of Nasi Lemak.
CC creator, icemunmun, from India, has already created functional Nasi Lemak. CC LINK DOWNLOAD
EA is massive company releasing The Sims as AAA video game titles from The Sims 1,2,3,4 with many expensive expansion packs who brought them massive profit yet they didn't want to spend any effort to give correct proper update with one new mesh.
As if they already know they made mistake and decided to not wanting to spend any more effort because
They already gained massive profit from international sales... and don't care much about players from Southeast Asian countries including Malaysian that their content depicted wrongly in-game as they thought Southeast Asian players are not profitable enough compared to USA and European players.
Ignorance about Asian culture, instead of hiring Southeast Asian people as staff/source person who are willing to give authentic information. They non-Asian people must be thinking that "Nasi Lemak and Coconut rice are the same thing because contains coconut!!"
Yes I know EA studio who created The Sims 4 content is from U.S.A. Here I need to tell you something, U.S.A. people: We Asians, including Europeans, took food very seriously. Food is culture. If you U.S.A people depict our food wrongly, it means you insult our culture. I heard many Europeans complained about U.S.A people who don't take European food culture very seriously. What if USA flag is wrongly depicted by other flag such as Australian flag or Malaysian flag? I bet you USA people are very offended, right?
People tend to learn something from media, movies and video games. Because many Westerners don't know Nasi Lemak, they will think Nasi Lemak looks like porridge like what depicted in-game. Despite White Caucasian of British colonizer had colonized Malaysia, yet many White Caucasian people still don't know what Nasi Lemak looks like.
This is not first time EA misinterpreted Asian culture. EA has wrongly misinterpreted Chinese culture very badly in Shang Simla world.
Thank you sister Martinee for daring to speak up about this issue.
What EA depicted as "Nasi Lemak"
Looks like baby porridge I ate because I was sick.
