season 11 is a weird one, i think we can all agree, but for the most part i do like it a whole bunch. one of the aspects of ian and mickey's s11 arc i most appreciated was the fact that they seemed to be learning how to communicate and open up more to each other. any little bit of vulnerability shown was a win in my book. the thing i liked least was that stupid goddamn fist fight in 11x03. it was so unnecessary and would have been a perfect opportunity for us to have seen more communication between them. it was such a dumb argument that was blown out of proportion, and i know it was for the sake of making it funny, but it quickly became unfunny. and then the fight itself was just so uncomfortable to watch. imagine if instead we got to see them talk? figure it out? we get some idea in the end that they must have talked it out somehow, because we hear them flip fuck, which is what triggered the argument in the first place. but the conversation wasn't shown to the audience. it was an episode that started out funny and promising and went in a disappointing direction. so yeah. that's the one thing i'd change. give me more of that sweet sweet communication.
