This is a two-part question for "is there a Valentine's Day?" and ROs reactions! Scroll past the orange headers to skip the spiel on celebrations of love and saying "I love you".

Technically, there are two kinds of celebrations of love. Sal te Hila, or "Day of Love," is to celebrate people whom you love deeply--may it be family, close friends, or lovers.

"Quine" refers to affectionate love, in reference to the god of passionate love, Quin. You use it towards friends, casual partners, family members, or to describe yourself. "Hila" is a much stronger form that you may use towards friends, a serious partner, family members, and yourself. This is in reference to Hilaria, goddess of everlasting love. "Quine" is casual; you use it when you're proud of yourself for an achievement, or to casually express your affections. Using "Hila" is more of a declaration and assertion of love, reserved for people you are much closer to, or yourself.

Sal te Hila doesn't make any distinctions between familial, platonic, and romantic love. Any of these may be celebrated on this day.

To tell someone I love you, you say, maju hila, or "you are love." To describe self-love, it is maje hila or "I am love." You say mos hila or "we are love" to refer to a community.

These are all to say, love is stored in you :)

Lastly, there is Sal te Desatana. This is "Day of the Universe". This is to celebrate a love even deeper than Hila -- a love for the entire universe. In Galaio's faith, nothing is more important than your love for not just your immediate community, but the entire community of the world -- animals, plants, humans alike. You shall adore and revere all of existence. This kind of love is called "Desa".

You do not use this love in any other context. To use it for yourself would be considered incredibly blasphemous, placing you above all of creation and divinity. To use it for someone else would also be off-putting, as your love for someone should not be greater than your love for the Universe. You use it to refer to everyone. Not to say you can't physically use it -- it is just blasphemous. The only socially appropriate way to use desa is mos desa, as in loving the community of the world.

The parents can totally join in on Sal te Hila! Mortals likely don't have access to cacao and therefore chocolate, but we will pretend they do.

SALVATORE. Their eyes would glow and sunbeams would come out of their face. "You are love," they'd say softly, hugging your gift close to their chest. They'll frantically share what they got you, too, shoving the gift in front of you and telling you to take a look! They're probably sweets or food they know you enjoy, and they'll want to eat with you in the mortal world, wherever the sun shines.

LUCIEL. At first, their reaction isn't visible. However, their hands slowly reach out to take your gift. You watch them as they grasp it gently and pull it towards them--and that's when you see the soft smile gracing their lips and lighting their sad, lovely eyes. They will bring you a gift personal to you, whatever seems to captivate you, and you think that is love.

CIOCANA. They extend their hands to take your gift. If you weren't perceptive, you might miss the way they slightly tremble, hesitate. Before they allow you to question it, however, it's within their reach and they take it from you, slightly flushed. They'd smile and thank you for it, assure you that they will treasure it forever--playfully (maybe). Ah, they have a gift for you as well! Probably something they made themselves, and they'll proudly declare that.

ALESSI. Slightly embarrassed and yet so awash in joy that it flutters up their throat, they're startled into laughing and take your sweets. These are delightful to eat, and Alessi has likely never tried this kind of sweets. They will also have brought you food they made themselves, and have you share the food between yourselves. Nothing is more divine, more sacred than sharing a meal.

NERO. Nero would offer a small smile and take your gift like a prayer. If it's not obvious what it is, he'll ask if he can take a look at it. He seems to smile even wider when he sees what you've given him, a rare sight. If you're okay with touches, he'd hug you, and if not, he'd turn his adoring eyes to you and thank you.

RAFAELE. He'd be hasty to take your gift from you, grinning ear to ear, but he'd unwrap your gift with care. He's already making guesses as to what you could've given him, and he cries out in joy when he sees it, especially if it's something he guessed--or even better! If you're good with touching, he'd scoop you up in a hug and even kiss you on your head, saying "thank you thank you thank you!" again and again. Otherwise, he'd just jump in place and clasp his hand and thank you just as much.

I have no intention of saying it but everytime someone complained about their child all I could whispered to myself was “best kan jadi mak? aku belum dapat merasa lagi, entah akan ataupun takkan”.

Even worst when they said best ehh hidup kau, nak ke mana tak terikat, bebas, padahal hati riuh tak nak menyendiri. Tapi bila part expose gambar happy family dia yang paling maju, seakan mengejek kita yang sendiri.

That’s why dalam hidup kita ni tak perlu dengki dengan apa yang orang lain ada, because the grass will always be greener on the other side, tapi kan kita pun boleh ada grass yang hijau on our side if we know how to water our own grass. Instead of focusing on what orang lain ada yang kita tak ada.

So I made peace with whatever Allah dah tetapkan, I no longer asked Him with whys or when? I just go with whatever feels right. Whatever is written menurutNya.

Mother your taste in anime has always been the same as mine is there anything airing or coming out soon you’re interested in?

Hii, the only one that caught my attention when I looked at the chart was "Maju to Yajuu" and I just watched the first episode and it did not disappoint!! Definitely the best I've watched so far quality and plot wise, even the music is good, so I'm definitely gonna keep watching it. I also watched "30-sai made Doutei dato Mahoutsukai ni Nareru Rashii" today and it's my second favorite!! Super adorable and funny, very pretty art style too. I'm definitely watching those two this season. Yesterday I watched "Metallic Rouge" which I thought would be in my top 2 but tbh the first ep was kinda boring to me, I'll give it a chance though and watch a couple of eps more (I was gonna drop kkss on the first ep and then it became my fav anime lmao).

Other than that, I tried to look for comfort anime so I watched "Kyuujitsu no Warumono-san" but meh... even the one with the little girl that loves animals had more substance... I mean neither is supposed to be taken seriously I guess but you need to have at least something interesting going on to keep ppl watching, right? And for the nostalgia I tried the one with the demon guy and the blonde angel but as expected it's only funny if you're 14 years old probably (why do I even try to give stuff with high schoolers as mcs a chance, god), waste of time.

And that's it, so 2 and a half so far lmao If anyone has any recs lmk please ^^ (not dungeon meshi tho, it looks like an anime i'd enjoy only if there's a ship I like and for what I've seen there are none).

What’s wrong between Ceci and Taina 🥲🥲 ? i didn’t understand anything ! Did you see the comments in the last posts of Eder ??? he turned the comments off now

I'll try to explain it the way I understood it, although it's a big mess. Eder's younger sister made a live on Instagram where we can hear a woman's voice in the background addressed to Cecilia. No one saw this scene, but it looks like Cecilia and Helena (Taina's daughter) may have been fighting over a toy or something like that and a woman's voice firmly tells Ceci to leave it because it belongs to Helena. Of course, Karoline's fans reacted and claimed that Taina was bullying Ceci because "no one can shout at the queen". But … as I mentioned, no one saw this scene. No one saw how Ceci acted. Maybe she wanted to take something from Helena and Taina pointed out to her that that's not the way to do it? We don't know that. The woman's voice didn't scream either, it was just firm. What makes me laugh is that first everyone called Maju a hero (Eder's sister), who did it on purpose so that Karoline would find out about it, and now they are attacking her because she called people crazy (because of their reaction) and made it clear that it was not Taina just a nanny which doesn't fit their narrative. Of course, Karoline reacted because everyone started asking her about it and told her to take the child away from father. She said she asked Eder for an explanation and he admitted it was nothing as bad as it was interpreted. She added that she didn't like it and wouldn't let anyone treat her daughter like that … but in my opinion, if it were someone else, she wouldn't have said anything. There is tension between Karoline and Taina and their fans are only adding fuel to the fire. Karoline also attacked her (although she did not use her name directly) saying that she teaches her child differently, etc. It was a big mess because of a scene that no one saw. Of course, I understand Karoline because it's her child and she has the right to behave emotionally and without objectivity, especially when it comes to the woman with whom she has a media war. But I also don't want to attack Taina for something I haven't seen, because I work with children myself and I know exactly what it looks like and sometimes you have to raise your voice, but that doesn't mean you're abusing them, for God's sake! What scares me the most about this situation are all these crazy people (as Maju called them) who think they have the right to interfere in someone's life. They have their own narrative (depending on which "team" they are in) and it doesn't matter to them whether someone explains it or not, they know better. I believe that if Taina treated Ceci badly, she wouldn't have had a place next to Eder (like Cassia), and let's not forget that his mother, sister and nanny were also there and they wouldn't let anything happen to the girl.

Dragons of the Plant World

Happy Lunar New Year of the Wood Dragon! The Lunar New Year is a major cultural event celebrated in Asia and across the world. The year of the wood dragon begins on February 10th 2024 and concludes on January 29th, 2025. The Asian dragon or “Loong” is a noble, benevolent creature unlike the destructive monsters of Western folklore. Let’s meet some plants named after dragons!

A whole genus of monocot trees is named after dragons, namely the genus Dracaena which includes 120 species of trees and succulent shrubs native to Africa, South Asia, Australia, and Central America. The name Dracaena is derived from a Greek word meaning “female dragon”. It is unclear why these trees are named after dragons, but their spiky foliage and scaly trunks may recall the typical traits of western dragons. Additionally, the Socotra Dragon Tree (Dracaena cinnabari) yields a red resin known as “Dragon’s Blood” which was harvested from these trees since ancient times and used in the Mediterranean and the Middle East for dye and medicines. Several Dracaena species including Dracaena marinata are popular houseplants since they require minimal water and can tolerate low light levels in indoor environments.

Dragonfruit is a tropical treat that comes from a cactus. The Dragonfruit cactus is a general name for one of three species in the Selenicereus genus and is commonly known as the Pitahaya or Moonlight Cactus. These night-blooming lanky cacti are epiphytic and lithophytic, meaning they grow on trees and stones instead of rooting directly into the ground. Their hot pink or yellows fruit have dragon-like fleshy scales and an interior that can be either white or red. Although they were originally cultivated in South America, Vietnam is now the main producer of Dragonfruit. The fruit is rich in dietary fibre, vitamin C, betalains, and carotenoids.

Snapdragons (Anthrrhinum genus) have flowers with cute dragon-like snouts that open and close like a mouth when pressed sideways. These perennial flowers add fiery hues like yellow, orange, red, and pink to cottage gardens of Northern Europe and are a favourite of bees. The Snapdragon (A. majus) is a model organism for plant biology research, especially biochemical studies and developmental biology as well as research on plant-pollinator interactions.

She loves skirts and ensuring her bosom is well supported and looks nice in her casual outfits as knows its a distraction. She has her geeky side so likes aesthetic prints or themed ones too. Skirt outfits are her go to as loves the way they hug her curves. Galaxy & Starry prints are her favorite also!

It's hard to get him out of his chef attire but when he finally dresses casually often will see him wearing clean pressed shirt and pants with suspenders or a floral/fruit print button up. He still kinda dress formal even if suppose to be casual as wants to impress always.

He honestly wasn't sure how to dress since never sees anyone who looks like him to go off of so he actually asked Maju about it as he dresses "interesting". Was told he looks best in red so Raede wears mainly solid red color tops and simple jeans that were made for him. Maju said solid red is fine but not cool so gave him graphic t-shirts that feature roses which he likes to wear now aswell. If its red he will wear.

Synopsis

Battered by his experiences travelling through space and time, the mysterious Stranger has rejected his long time companion and is in self-imposed exile on a barren planet, where he determines to ignore the pleas for help from the victims of a macabre and strangely familiar Conjuror, who seems to have limitless power.
