💬🥀 — The demon glances over at the woman, yellow pin-pricks of light fixed upon her; listening as she speaks with a sombreness he is unaccustomed to hearing in her usually bright and gentle voice. What she says, however, makes him scoff inwardly. He keeps that to himself...or tries to. But does offer his own quiet thoughts, laced with underlying distaste. "What good does it ever do to rely on those so fickle?" He murmurs in a low hum, casting his gaze back to his wares. "... when often even their devout need them most..." he begins, quieting for a moment before inquiring, "... where are the gods they worship so?" He busies himself, though idly, with readjusting his items upon his shelf. A faint, bubbling bitterness biting up into his throat at the mere memory thought of the celestial and divine... scorned by them, one too many times himself to hold any fondness in his decrepit heart. "... perhaps they earn their mockery."
