#throwbackthursday This was shot in 2014. Back to freelancing videography and photography. This was a motley crew of photographers in LA. Going to events, running into each other and competing for the best photo. Here with my t2i Camera filming the #misshollywoodbikini contest. This was a fun gig. Unlike other projects. ”Being successful in the creative field, you have to be careful what you wish for. I always wanted to travel a lot, adventures, the freedom, and all these other things. I’ve gotten a lot of that and it’s really exciting, but it comes at a cost. My brother, his wife, and my nephew were staying at my home while I was in New York for a project. My brother told me that a plane was flying over head, and my three-year-old nephew was like, ‘Is Uncle Mathieu in there?’ because he was expecting me to be at my own house. It can be challenging to maintain relationships.”

My Grandma, Guadalupe Cruz, on the day of her wedding. Her older cousin, Josephine Nunez, (holding the veil) looked out for Grandma as kids growing up in L.A. She'd baptize so many of Grandma's kids and Grandkids that pretty much everyone just called her "Nina" whether she was your Godmother or not. What an incredible bond these two women shared. They even bought houses next door to each other and were neighbors for over 50 years. Nina passed away recently. Grandma in 2002. May they both Rest In Peace. 🙏🏽 Thanks to @veteranas_and_rucas for sharing this photo recently.
