I come to bring a compilation of information and yes all at once. The things here I took from old interviews so a lot could have changed throughout Luke's life (or not hehe) and other things are just my conclusions without confirmation (based on my searches on the internet).
Luke is a fun and intelligent person, a nerd full of charisma and style, loaded with the best British style he could have, a cigarette in one hand, a drink in the other, a smile and beautiful hazel eyes.
I hope you enjoy it because there are things about him that make me smile. :)
-> Luke Brandon Field (Luke Shoefield) was born on March 21, 1988 in Paddington which is a region in the City of Westminster, London, England.
-> His height is 1,83 m
-> He currently lives alone in an apartment in Los Angeles.
-> He is the son of Gary Shoefield and (probably and without confirmation) of Sharon Lorraine Price.
-> Luke is from a Jewish family. He grew up in a relatively Jewish neighborhood.
Here are some links about him:
IMDb | United Agents
Facebook 1 | 2
Twitter | Instagram | Spotify
-> Luke has as friends Daniel Sharman, Ian Bohen, Taika Waititi, Pamela Francesca and among others that I wouldn't know how to name, but to know more just visit his instagram. On his facebook there are very old and funny photos from the time when he studied. On instagram there are several pictures of him with his friends, his father and work. He was always fun and funny.
-> His name Luke is after Luke Goss, member of the English boyband Bros.
-> Luke's taste in music was influenced by his father from an early age, he was a fan of Glam Rock, Punk Rock and 70's Pop.
-> He is a fan of bands and musicians like Nico, David Bowie, Elvis, The Clash, Sweet, The Strokes, Lou Reed, T. Rex and others.
-> He has a band with Camila Gray called ROGUES.
-> Luke is an Arsenal fan.
-> Luke's godfather is an actor too and influenced him.
-> His favorite drink is Canadian Club.
-> Her idols are her father (Gary Shoefield) and Oliver Reed.
-> He went to drama school in New York when he was 18-19 years old (circa 2006) and had to live independently for the first time.
-> He went to Los Angeles in 2008.
-> Became the first person in England to be accepted by UCLA to study Drama & Film.
-> His first appearance in a film was in 2006 in 'Alien Autopsy'.
-> His first starring role was in 'Where the Road Meets the Sun' (2011) and here Luke won the Best Actor award at the Los Angeles Asian Film Festival.
-> He once said:
"I'd love to do a film set in the swinging 60's, a Michael Cane type role or a lower east side punk in 1970s New York. That would be fun."
-> He dreams of working one day with Woody Allen and Tom Hanks.
-> He grew up surrounded by Punk Rock, his home as a child was "two doors down where Marc Bolan lived".
Marc Bolan was an English musician, singer and songwriter. He was one of the pioneers of the glam rock movement in the early 1970s with his band T. Rex. (wikipedia) But Marc passed away in 1977 and Luke was born in 1988, but his mother was Marc's neighbor and grew up there in the 70s.
-> On the same street lived Paul McCartney.
-> At the age of 5-6 he was visited by Brian Connolly.
Brian Francis Connolly was a Scottish musician, best known as the lead singer of the British glam rock band Sweet.(wikipedia)
-> His father at that time (around 1994) was The Sweet's agent.
-> Luke's first show was when he was 6 years old with Gary Glitter and met him.
-> Luke was teased at school for being a David Bowie fan because everyone said he was too gay.
-> Luke has Ziggy Stardust and the Spiders from Mars (1973) as his favorite David Bowie album.
-> He was writing a book about Nico (originally it was going to be a screenplay).
Christa Päffgen was a German singer, songwriter, model and actress, better known by the pseudonym Nico.(wikipedia) And I couldn't find any other information about this, the interview I took this part from is 2016.
-> Luke describes Nico as "German goddess with an unusual voice".
-> When asked which song he would like played at his funeral, he replies: 'Afraid' by Nico or 'London Is The Place For Me' by Lord Kitchener (Aldwyn Roberts).
-> When asked if he would have a theme song he replies that it would be Reptilia from The Strokes.
-> He agrees that he looks like a vampire and that even people comment on it.
-> He says his reference for vampires is Bram Stoker.
-> When asked which he would prefer: Buffy or Angel, he answers Buffy. (All this part about vampires is from an interview for Muse by CLIO, where he talks about Lestat too.)
-> Luke's father worked in the entertainment business for 40 years, music, film, TV, aliens and holograms. Luke grew up with it so he frequented many studios and labels and was always on set or surrounded by notable actors or people.
-> In school he liked Shakespeare and musicals.
-> He would be a lawyer if he wasn't an actor, but he doesn't think it would suit him.
-> He returned to London after university and discovered a documentary that talked about fighting the remaining nazis that existed in London and this sparked his interest in their culture and religion. He spent a year and a half doing research and investigating, he discovered that his neighbor across the street (who was 91 years old) was part of this anti-nazi group and that even his late grandfather participated. He was greatly influenced by this story and it helped him rediscover his Jewish identity and feel comfortable with his culture.
-> Luke is not orthodox. When asked if all this helped him find a path to his religion, he replies:
"Exactly. I mean, I'm not Orthodox. But I feel peace of mind, a sense of... I've now found where I belong in some way. I'm sure it'll probably change in a year, but I feel good about it now."
-> He is the only member of his acting class from 9 years ago who managed to make a living out of it. He says:
"We've all come close, we've all been rejected. We all work hard. Nine times out of 10 you'll get losses, so it is for the thick-skinned. If you're not living, breathing, smoking it each day, it's not for you. I'm the only person in my acting class from nine years ago who makes a living out of this. If someone came to me at 16 and was like, "I want to act," I 'd be like, "Do it now. If it doesn't work out within two or three years, do something else you enjoy. Or find something to do and if you want to do it on the side, then great. Because if you put too much emphasis on it, it will hurt you."
-> Luke's father also lives in LA. Luke wants to stay close to his friends and family. He says:
"My dad lives in L.A.; he's my best friend. I step out of line, he'll tell me immediately. And I've got good friends."
And:
"I don't think I could ever get to that place because my friends, my family, are the most important, the most constant, things in my life. Apart from my football team, of course."
(when he says my football team he means Arsenal because he's a fan.)
-> Luke likes to be professional (and very responsible) when it comes to money. He says:
"As an actor, I'm a professional. As a friend, I'm a professional. I'm there to do my job. But I also need to be professional about money. Obviously you have an accountant, but you need to do your own checks and balances. Otherwise you can get into a lot of trouble."
-> Luke is a person who runs after opportunities, who creates them without waiting for them to knock on his door. He says:
"Because you can't wait for opportunities. You've got to do it yourself. Like how I found out about that story that moved me about Judaism. What did I do? I decided to do research, write and get it into the public. And I sold it to the BBC. I'm not saying it will get made or that I'll be in it, but at least I feel like I have some control over my artistic destiny, rather than waiting for a manager or an agent to tell me there's an audition next week, or I might get this role. I think it's the same in any artistic pursuit. In music, you make a song, you try and produce it, you get friends to do it, you put it up on Spotify. If you want to do advertising, you come up with several ideas, then go to the agencies and pitch them. See if you can make that difference. I don't really feel like opportunities come too often. You gotta make your own."
-> During the pandemic (in 2020) he:
read Brian Southall's Sex Pistols: 90 Days at EMI;
when asked what he was watching he replies:
"Just started The Spy on Netflix, which is very watchable. Started off in isolation watching the mandatory Love Is Blind and Tiger King, but have delved into my Criterion Collection subscription. Just finished watching Betty Blue—a masterpiece!"
*And here I open a parenthesis to talk about the day he and Assad posted about Betty Blue on instagram. Luke had already watched the film in 2020 and then became a fan. On the day in question he thanks a friend for the movie poster. Luke has a collection of posters in his apartment.
practiced 120 push-ups on a machine he successfully set up;
his hobbies (during the pandemic so I don't know if he still does) was learning to cook and learning Welsh.
-> When asked what was the best work email he received during the pandemic, he replies:
"Happy Birthday, you throw the best bday parties, this must really suck for you... hahaha."
-> Luke would like to play villains, he says:
"It's interesting that the bad guy don't think they are bad."
I hope you enjoyed this short summary of who Luke Brandon Field is and I hope from the bottom of my heart that he gets everything he ever dreamed of and deserves because he truly is an amazing person.

Jess and Will Wedding Teaser Video
We have provided wedding photography and videography service to this very friendly and lovely British Hong Kong bride and British groom in Mid-Autumn Festival. The weather turned a bit cooler, but the event was warm with their all families', relatives' and guests' cheerful passions and emotions. It is such an enjoyable day. We travelled to Angel, Islington and Newham in London for their wedding.
This was our another challenging wedding day with total 14 hours coverage. A typical Chinese mix British style wedding with civil ceremony and Chinese banquet, also different parts of celebration like tea ceremony, lion dance, cake cutting and party.
https://www.facebook.com/LondonUKEuropeEngagementWedding/
http://www.foreverlovejourney.com/
We started early in the morning for bride's and bridesmaids' preparation in nHow hotel in Angel with photo and video shoot. This hotel is a hidden gem in central east of the city! We really loved this artistic, quirky hotel. There are lots of fashionable designs, mixing with different lightings, modern with a sense of vintage decor... All these constructed a very nice backdrop for photo shoot. After that, we rushed to Islington Town Hall for the ceremony.
We have been serving in this town hall so many times for wedding photos and videos. We always have to rush if couples book this venue for ceremony. But this time, it was even more rush, as the place is fully booked. Different couples went in every 30-45 mins! There ceremony last a maximum 30 mins. That gave us 15 mins to finish the shoot in the Town Hall.
Our another location was The Angelic bar/restaurant where the guests enjoy the drinks reception with delicious canapés and champagne.  There are even more guests here, since some of them couldn't attend the civil ceremony. It was originally planned for the groom and groomsmen to play some door games and challenges, but we had to skip it since it was running late for the schedule.
Our last venue was Yi-Ban Chinese Restaurant on Dockside Road, London. We missed this place so much. This place was closed for the whole Covid restricted period. Since they opened again in June, 2021, many couples from East Asian background, including Chinese, Vietnamese, all rushed to book this restaurant. We have also came here so many times to celebrate and witnessed lots of couples' their most important day with our cameras.
We done Chinese tea ceremony, speeches, cake cutting, first dance, toasting with guest photos and films with our couple and their lovely guests. The process was long, yet enjoyable for the family, all the guests and us. The guests praised the food and all arrangements.
We wish them the very best and a happy married life ever-after.
Feel free to take a look at their photos, highlight & feature videos on our Facebook page, our website and on our Youtube & Vimeo channel.
Thank you
http://www.foreverlovejourney.com/
https://www.facebook.com/LondonUKEuropeEngagementWedding/

Top Shopping Malls near Steveston, BC
Steveston, founded in the 1880s, is a neighborhood of Richmond in Metro Vancouver. On the southwest tip of Lulu Island, the village is a historic port and salmon canning center at the mouth of the South Arm of the Fraser River. The early 1900s style architecture attracted both the film and tourism industries. On Canada Day, the community hosts the Steveston Salmon Festival, which has been held annually since 1946. This event includes a parade and a huge barbecued salmon sale beside the Steveston Community Centre. Municipal, provincial, and federal politicians often attend, usually as part of the parade and/or to hand out Canadian flags.

Is your grandpa into bollywood or is connected to the industry here?
He used to chair several Asian film festivals so he used to be really updated and would always recommend some Asian films to watch. He also never liked the fact we were raised in LA/London so whenever we were with him it’s all Asian movies from Bollywood to East Asia to SEA.

Shireen Seno: A child dies, a child plays, a woman is born, a woman dies, a bird arrives, a bird flies off Solo exhibition at daadgalerie, Berlin April 5-May 7, 2023
Opening: Wednesday, April 5, 7pm Artist Talk with Shireen Seno and George Clark
Thursday, April 13, 7pm  Screening: Big Boy (2012) by Shireen Seno
Thursday, April 20, 7pm Screening: Years When I Was a Child Outside (2008) by John Torres Artist Talk with John Torres
Filmmaker and artist Shireen Seno’s work explores relationships in all their complexity and intricacies: within the family, to political relationships, to media and technology, between different species and ecosystems. Through a politics of attention and remarkable sensitivity, Seno creates a space for repressed narratives, often set against the backdrop of Philippine colonial history and diaspora life. In doing so, her practice takes her to archives as well as to Candaba, a wetland near Manila where migratory birds settle halfway along the East Asian–Australasian Flyway. She encounters the world with a keen awareness of the malleability of images and a deep distrust of overly linear narratives.  Shireen Seno’s first solo exhibition in Europe brings together works from the last four years: the 17-channel video installation A child dies, a child plays…, the film essay To Pick a Flower, new photographs and a sequel to her image essay Trunks.
Shireen Seno’s body of work touches on an array of interconnected activity from feature films to multi- screen installations, passing through collective practice, site-specific installations, photographic enquiries, and curatorial excavations. Her work addresses memory, history, and image-making, often in relation to the idea of home.
A recipient of the 2018 Thirteen Artists Award from the Cultural Center of the Philippines, she is known for her films Big Boy (2012) and Nervous Translation (2017) which have won awards at Rotterdam, Punto de Vista, Shanghai, Olhar de Cinema, Vladivostok, and Lima Independiente and have screened at New Directors/New Films at Film Society of Lincoln Center and MoMA, New York; Yebisu International Festival of Art & Alternative Visions, Tokyo; Rencontres Internationales, Paris/Berlin; Tate Modern, London; UCCA Center for Contemporary Art, Beijing; NTU Center for Contemporary Art, Singapore; Portikus, Frankfurt; Taipei National Center for Photography and Images, Taipei, Museum of the Moving Image, New York; National Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art (MMCA), Seoul; Museum of Contemporary Art & Design Manila; MAIIAM Contemporary Art Museum, Chiang Mai; and M+, Hong Kong, among others.
Together with artist and filmmaker John Torres, Shireen Seno runs Los Otros, a critically acclaimed film and video studio and platform committed to the intersections of film and art, with a focus on process over product. In 2019, Seno and Torres realised the exhibition Cloudy with a Chance of Coconuts at Portikus, Frankfurt am Main.  Shireen Seno is currently a film fellow of the DAAD Artists-in-Berlin program.

Soul Mate (七月与安生). Dir. Derek Tsang (曾國祥). 2016.
Based on a popular online novel by Beijing-based author Li Jie (励婕), who uses the pseudonym Anni Baobei (安妮宝贝) [literally ‘Annie baby’], Soul Mate was a highly successful film that resulted in the two stars, Zhou Dongyu (周冬雨) and Sandra Ma (马思纯), winning Best Actress awards at the 53rd Golden Horse Film Awards. The story follows two childhood best friends, wild soul Ansheng and studious Qiyue, who come into conflict when both fall for the same boy. Told through flashbacks that intersperse with scenes set in the present, where Ansheng has settled down as a whitecollar and Qiyue is nowhere to be found, the narrative ultimately culminates in a tearjerker twist while exploring themes of love, friendship, and freedom. Soul Mate will be screened in competition at the 2017 London East Asian Film Festival.

Queer East Film Festival (15 - 26 September) is delighted to unveil its full programme centred on queer storytelling and activism from East and Southeast Asia. This year’s programme includes a selection of 37 features, short films and artists’ moving image works from 15 countries, ranging from new releases to classic retrospectives, mainstream box office hits to radical independent works, accompanied by pre-screening introductions and filmmaker Q&As. A series of online panel discussions with international guests will run throughout the festival period, covering topics such as women in the film industry, queer film festivals, and the development of Asian LGBTQ+ movements.
Launched in 2020, Queer East is a new film festival that aims to amplify the voices of Asian communities in the UK, who have often been excluded from mainstream discourse, despite Asians being one of the country’s fastest-growing ethnic groups. Queer East seeks to facilitate a better understanding of the richness of queer Asian heritage, and to bridge the cultural distance between the UK public and the region. Featuring works made by international filmmakers and Asian diaspora communities, and looking to foster authentic voices, the festival explores a wide range of perspectives, showcasing stories that intersect with personal experiences, cultural norms, and socio-political transitions.
The second edition of Queer East opens with the UK premiere of Daughters (2020), the directorial debut of Hajime Tsuda from Japan; and will close with the multi award-winning Dear Tenant (2020), directed by Taiwanese filmmaker Yu-Chieh Cheng.
This year, the world’s spotlight shone on Japan as the host country for the Summer Olympics. This drew the programmer’s attention to Japan’s history of iconoclastic, inventive and unapologetic queer filmmaking, and its growing strength in advancing LGBTQ+ rights. To mark this, the festival presents Focus Japan, a ten-film programme that looks back on queer representations in Japanese films from the 1980s until today. It features a double bill from the Japanese maestro Nagisa Oshima; Merry Christmas, Mr. Lawrence (1983) and a rare 35mm presentation of Gohatto (1999); a queer revisiting of the 1995 animation Ghost in the Shell (dir. Mamoru Oshii) and the 20th anniversary screening of Ryosuke Hashiguchi’s Hush! (2001), alongside recent releases like Queer Japan (dir. Graham Kolbeins, 2019) and Close-Knit (dir. Naoko Ogigami, 2017).
Building on the success of last year, the festival’s Focus Taiwan strand continues with Days (2020) by the internationally acclaimed auteur Tsai Ming-Liang, the UK premiere of Teddy-award winning director Zero Chou’s Secrets of 1979 (2021), and a special presentation of The End of the Track (dir. Tun-Fei Mou), a rediscovered classic made in 1970. The series also includes an exciting line-up of short films and experimental works that showcase Taiwan’s vibrant queer culture.
Other highlights include a 20th anniversary screening of Lan Yu (dir. Stanley Kwan, 2001), one of the most iconic gay films in the Mandarin-speaking world, presented here in its newly restored version; South Korea’s award-winning drama Moonlit Winter (dir. Daehyung Lim, 2019); and drag comedy Number 1 (dir. Kuo-Sin Ong, 2020) from Singapore.
Significant progress and landmark rulings have been made across Asia in recent years, from India's decriminalisation of homosexuality to Taiwan’s recognition of same-sex marriage. However, challenges and obstacles remain, and are faced by many people. It is within this context that Queer East explores the various forces that have shaped the current queer landscape in East and Southeast Asia, reflecting on what it means to be Asian and queer today through its curatorial approach.
The pursuit of legal protection for, and recognition of, marriage equality and same-sex families has been one of the focal points in campaigns for LGBTQ+ rights in Asia. Hence, the programme this year has a particular focus on ‘family’, a noun that conveys strong cultural traditions and ideologies.
Yi Wang, Festival Director and Programmer for Queer East, discusses his approach:
“By showcasing films that challenge conventional understandings of family kinship, I hope to provoke a conversation about how we understand and interpret the meaning and formation of family, through an alternative queer lens, even when the films do not include obvious LGBT storylines.”
Wang continues,
“Global events in the past year, from Covid-19-related anti-Asian attacks to the Black Lives Matter movement, have once again reminded us how vital fair and authentic racial and sexual representation is for our society. LGBTQ+ people have had labels, stereotypes and stigmas imposed on them for a long time. For me, queer is a word without consistent meaning, and we should not settle on a one-note definition. I believe that film is one of the most direct and accessible mediums that allows us to address issues and situations that people simply weren’t aware of before. Films enable us to construct a more positive, inclusive and dynamic LGBTQ+ narrative both outside and within the LGBTQ+ communities.”
Queer East Film Festival is supported by Film Hub London, managed by Film London. Proud to be a partner of the BFI Film Audience Network, funded by the National Lottery. The Focus Japan programme is organised in partnership with the Japan Foundation, with support from Great Britain Sasakawa Foundation, Daiwa Anglo-Japanese Foundation and Japan Society. The Focus Taiwan programme is supported by the Ministry of Culture, Taiwan and Taiwan Film and Audiovisual Institute. This year’s artists' moving image programme is supported by Arts Council England.
Coming soon – in autumn this year, highlights of the Queer East Film Festival will tour to a number of UK cities including Cardiff, Manchester, Birmingham, Edinburgh, Nottingham, Sheffield and more. Full details and dates to be announced.

Madi Lou (and trans+ artists, too!)
Playing off the idea of "T4T" (trans seeking trans, typically associated with the terms found on the app Grindr) I wanted to compile a playlist of trans/nonbinary/gender non-conforming artists that are present in a variety of genres and gender expressions/presentations/labels.
https://open.spotify.com/playlist/52OZ896qRkAM2oqUwbtd5P?si=OQpd8kqSRnGGKcWe6XLcSw
"Maker - Acoustic” by Anjimile
Anjimile is a “queer and trans songmaker/lover boy with a heart of gold” based in Boston, MA
"Emasculate" by Dorian Electra
Dorian Electra is a gender-fluid pop musician who likes to become a “genderless clown” in their extravagant makeup and campy aesthetics.
"800 db cloud" by 100 gecs (Laura Les)
Laura Les, part of the duo 100 gecs, is a trans woman previously known under her project Osno1 (I felt it personally prevalent to include her song “How to Dress as Human” but could only find the link through Youtube)
"Heartbreaker" by Ah-Mer-Ah-Su
In her 2018 album STAR, Ah-Mer-Ah-Su wanted to tell the story of her black trans identity--a story typically connected to struggle and coping with extreme opposition from society at large. “For me, this album simply means that I’m a black girl with something to say. I have a story, and I’ll tell it through my music.” (billboard, August 2018)
"HRT" by Girls Rituals
Devi McCallion has worked in a number of projects centered under her label blacksquares. Her trans identity is touched on in such projects as Cats Millionaire/Mom, blackdresses, and Girls Rituals.
"Trans Femme Bonding" by Tami T
Originally starting her glittery electronica sound under the name Tami Tamaki, Tami T describes many aspects around the love for/between trans femmes // “So fucking brave, so fucking femme”
"Nonbinary" by Arca
Alejandra Ghersi, better known by her stagename Arca, came out as nonbinary and goes by she/her and it/its pronouns.
"Bitch Pudding" by KC Ortiz
Rising in the Chicago hip-hop scene, KC Ortiz wants to be known that she is no different than any other rapper. “I cringe when headlines say ‘Trans Rapper.’ That ain’t me...The only times that even crosses my mind really is when I think about because I’m trans I gotta be dope.” (Art Music Fashion Life, June 2020)
"Faceshopping" by SOPHIE
Sophie Xeon made her breakthrough in Oil of Every Pearl’s Un-Insides, becoming a known name after producing for artists like Charli XCX. She is very reclusive and has a smaller public image, contrary to her Louis Vuitton Spring/Summer 2020 appearance. (I have also discussed her imagery/lyricism of this song in 5th Avenue’s podcast--you should give it a listen to hear about other great queer artists!)
"Unkillable" by Katie Dey
“I was born inside this body and I’m stuck there/I’m a storm inside a rotting false construction” (Transition from “solipsisting” into “stuck” on Katie Dey’s debut album Asdfasdf)
"I'm Not 'Supposed' to Be Anything" by She/Her/hers
Emma Grrrl (and the occasional appearance of her friends) describes herself as sad grrrl pop-punk. “When I hear that a trans teenager shared one of my songs with their parents and it helped them to understand their experience, I just can’t imagine anything more validating or fulfilling than that.” (arena, June 2018)
"Gotta Gimme Your Love" by Sateen
Sateen is the band formally made up of the lesbian power couple Miss Sateen and Exquisite. Originally famous and sensationalized as a “hetero drag couple,” Exquisite came out as a trans woman and shifted the projection of their music and relationship into making disco for a new generation.
"TRANSylvania" by Kim Petras
Known famously on German television for medically transitioning in her teens, Kim Petras’ assertation in her identity as a trans woman gave her much of the internet presence and platform to successfully kick off a music career. “I hate the idea of using my identity as a tool...It made me the person I am and that’s a big part of me, but I think music is about your feelings and your fantasies and it goes deeper than your gender or your sexuality.” (billboard, 2018)
"Breakdown" by Torraine Futurum
Making waves in the fashion industry before walking in New York Fashion Week, Torraine Futurum says she aims to “do whatever the fuck I want to do on this Earth -- and it’s going to be excellent.” (them., 2018)
"I Am America" by Shea Diamond
“I knew at a very young age I loved to sing. My voice was effeminate and I remember feeling afraid to sing in the church choir...Desperate to find the financial means to transition to my true gender, I committed a crime in 1999 and was sentenced to 10 years in a men’s prison. I was afraid that I could possibly die in a prison system designed to ensure correctional jobs over human lives...I began writing ‘I Am Her’ as a statement to a world that said I shouldn’t exist.” (TEDxKC, 2018)
"Body and Soul" by teddy<3
Teddy Geiger has known many lives in popular culture from teen idol, romantic lead, to sought after producer. “I didn’t know anyone who was trans...I had very little connection to that, so it wasn’t really until maybe three years ago I started actually painting my nails and going out. Nobody cared if I was femme.” (Rolling Stone, 2018)
"Genderqueer Love Song" by Schmekel
“Schmekel means little penis is Yiddish, and is a play on the fact that all four members were born female but ow identify themselves on the masculine side of the gender spectrum. It’s an appropriate name for a band that started as a laugh.” (New York Times, 2011)
"Queer Kidz" by Ashby and the Occeanns
Ashlynn Barker is a trans/nonbinary musician based out of Chicago. They write songs about trans issues, queer identity, mental health, and video games.
"Cis Girls" by Dyke Drama
Sadie Switchblade of the band G.L.O.S.S. (Girls Living Outside Society’s Shit) came out with this “transparent” side project. “It’s pretty transparent...The songs are either about trans girl problems or dykey lesbionic friendships.” (Pitchfork, 2016)
"Femme Bitch Top" by Tribe 8
“When the trans-dyke neofeminist rabble-rousers known as Tribe 8 make music, not even heaven is safe.” (SF Gate, 2006) The San Francisco LGBT Film Festival entry “Rise Above” is a rock-documentary anomaly I highly recommend taking the time to watch.
"They / Them / Theirs" by Worriers
“You’ve got a word for one, So there’s a word for all. // The smallest things have become Which side are you on? // What if I don’t want something that applies to me? // What if there’s no better word than just not saying anything, anything?” The trio of gender-neutral pronouns
"Gender Nightmare" by Art Projects
“That’s not my face on the license picture // You call my name as it is on paper // As it will still be // When they write me up a eulopy” (Genius Lyrics analysis you want to click in on)
"Male Gynecology" by Shoplifting
A revival of riot-grrrl manifestas, the album Body Stories “brims over with precisely the kind of heartfelt, politically-charged fervor that’s far more likely to save rock. (Pop Matters, 2006)
"Third Gender" by Good Asian Drivers
“Sometimes my gender is chilling out inbetween, but most of the time my gender is FUCK YOU mind your own business!” → Please please please listen to the lyrics of this song, this is a wonderfully politically charged bop carried with heart and bass and punk spit.
"True Trans Soul Rebel" by Against Me!
Laura Les came out with her release of the album Transgender Dysphoria Blues and furthered this message in Against Me!’s album Shape Shift with Me. She was one of the first trans people I saw openly continue to pursue a passion despite previously having works “pre-transition” out in the world.
"If I Were You" by Claud
“Sometimes it’s more important to write from a perspective different from your own in order to touch on important things. People always tell me that I’m brutally honest and I think it’s because I don’t hold back on anything...it’s refreshing to hear something said that you want to say yourself, but just couldn’t.” (Popsugar., 2019)
"If You Knew This Was About You, You'd Deny It" by Wargo
A trans woman solo-acoustic based out of Virginia, Wargo’s sound is directly influenced by the punk scene of the east coast. She likes to call her style “Appalachian Power Pop.”
"I DONT TRUST U ANYMORE" by Left at London
Coming to a place of internet recognition through such vines as “hahaha I do that” Nat Puff’s indie pop project Left at Londed (shorted as /@/) dives into the heart of “what it means to navigate the current political world as a queer person, while still remaining accessible to the general public.” (“About” on /@/ website)
"Body Was Made" by Ezra Furman
“My body was made this particular way // There’s really nothing any old patrician can say // You social police can just get out of my face // My body was made” (Body Was Made music video is a quirky and fun stylistic retelling of these lyrics) Ezra Furman identifies as trans and bisexual and uses he/him and she/her pronouns.
"Complicated" by The Cliks
Lucas Silveira shared that the band’s name derived from two ideas; using The like iconic bands The Beatles and The Rolling Stones and Cliks as a portmanteau of the slang terms clit and dicks. (In The Life interview, 2009)
"Upper West Side" by King Princess
“Although [Mikaela Mullaney Straus] identifies as a genderqueer lesbian, King Princess doesn’t necessarily want her music to be placed in the ‘queer pop’ box.” (MTV, 2019) Who isn’t bored of the heteronormative narrative?
"Make Me Feel" by Janelle Monáe
“I consider myself to be a free-ass motherfucker. I want young girls, young boys, non-binary, gay, straight, queer, queer people who are having a hard time dealing with their sexuality, dealing with feeling ostracized or bullied for just being their unique selves, to know that I see you.” (NewNowNext, February 2020)
"body cast" by Dua Saleh
A Sudanese refugee, Dua Saleh nurtured their love for poetry in the beginnings of their Minneapolis music career. They came out as nonbinary while in their second year at Augsburg University but have said “I always been on gay shit.” (them., May 2020)
"Mercury" by CJ Run
“With a deep understanding of pop sensibility, and enough hooks to last a lifetime, CJ Run’s music is the inner monologue of a black queer 20 something in the 21st century.” (Propelr)
"Dancing With Stranger" by Sam Smith
“When I saw the word non-binary, genderqueer, and I read into it, and I heard these people speaking, I was like, ‘Fuck, that is me.’” (Vanity Fair, March 2019)
"SkindeepSkyhighHeartwide" by Lawrence Rothman
Lawrence Rothman is a gender fluid artist, musician, and producer. Looking into their Google Image results yields the visual evidence of the nine personas Rothman refers to as “alters, each one offering a different lens for their creative use.” (NPR, November 2018)
"Extended Vacation" by Ryan Cassata
Ryan Cassata is the first openly transgender musician to perform at Warped, winning the Ernie Ball Battle of The Bands contest twice (both in 2013 and 2015*). He has spoken out about American Idol attempting to exploit openly transgender people to pander to a broader audience banking on new forms of media “diversity”. *I saw him in Mountain View, California in 2015 and you have no idea how happy a newly out genderqueer 16 year old was to stand on stage behind a proud trans man singing on a bumping stage.
"Let My Baby Stay" by Amandla Stenberg
This entire article is great in explaining why Amandla’s openness on their pronouns outside of this website might have harmed them for the future of their career.
"Dolla in My Titty (Part 1)" by Peppermint
Best known as the 2017 runner up on the ninth season of RuPaul’s Drag Race, Peppermint made her musical debut in Head Over Heels becoming Broadway’s first out trans woman to play a lead roll.
"Gender Bronoun" by Human Kitten
“What is unstable And what is real // This is a question that i ask myself on a daily basis // Are my emotions genuine Or are they just the result of my neural passages sending my chemicals back and forth” → “Caught i’m between two completely separate identites Who Can’t agree on anything // And i can’t even decide on which one’s me”
"Wow in the Now" by Honeybird
Honeybird is a musician and composer based in Bologna, Italy. Their mission is to listen to intersectional LGBTQ+ community voices and transform the daily struggle into songs.
"I Don't Love You Anymore" by ANHONI
“My closest friends and family use feminine pronouns for me. I have mot mandated the press do one thing or another...I think words are important. To call a person by their chosen gender is to honor their spirit, their life and contributions. ‘He’ is an invisible pronoun for me, it negates me.’” (Flavorwire, November 2014)
"Robert Frost" by Mal Blum
“Now I’m looking at the ground because I don’t want you to leave // I know it’s co-dependent But I think it’s kind of sweet // Out of every person in this city I could ever meet // Leaving feels like losing But I’m learning what I need”
"Dysphoria" by Saint Wellesley
“Binding my chest and biting my tongue Wearing boxers never fixed anyone” → “And this is the last time I’ll allow my ribs to be swollen // And I’ll grow out my hair And pretend I don’t care And maybe my ribs are broken” → “Dysphoria’s a bitch I wanna kick her in a ditch // It’s not fair to wanna itch All of the places that don’t fit”

SEPTEMBER 2019 DIMENSIONS ENTERTAINMENT SCHEDULES & REVIEW
Members may earn 3 points each (up to 6 points) for writing, by the end of October 7 KST:
A solo para of 400+ words based on their monthly schedule (does not count toward your monthly total).
A thread of six posts (three per participant, including the starter) based on their monthly schedule.
Threads do not have to take place directly during an important date listed on the schedule, but must be related to what the muse is mentioned to be doing in the paragraph explaining their schedule/the company’s schedule for the month and/or their thoughts on the mentioned activities or lack thereof.
These schedules may be updated throughout the month if new information needs to be added.
Reminder: August schedule posts are due by the end of September 7 KST.
Overall Company
A break for Dimensions idols has been a rare sight recently, but they’ve all been granted Chuseok off for a three-day break unless they have other individual voluntary activities to attend to. For many of the artists under Dimensions, this won’t so much be enough time to recuperate after their recent schedules as it is the eye of the storm of their nonstop activities as Dimensions attempts to cash in as much as possible on their rise.
Important dates:
September 12-14: Chuseok break (no activities save for specific voluntary individual schedules).
Dimensions Soloist 1
The Asian leg of her tour wraps up mid-month in Tokyo and at the end of the month she begins her European leg of the tour, which is the final leg of the tour for her. Her comeback has been internally confirmed for October, but executives have made the final decision to do a single release instead of an album as they’d originally planned since the release will be too late to have much of a chance at awards. By the end of the month, the song will be completely recorded and mastered and she should know the choreography to the song by heart.
September 6: Warning Tour concert at Taiwan University Sports Centre in Taipei, Taiwan.
September 19: Warning Tour concert at TSUTAYA O-East in Tokyo, Japan.
September 26: Warning Tour concert at Indigo at the O2 in London, England.
September 29: Warning Tour concert at Progresja in Warsaw, Poland.
Dimensions Soloist 2
It’s finally the month of his first solo concert so management around him is buzzing in a way that usually only happens during comeback season. The tickets have sold well, so things are looking food for him as long as the concerts go off without a hitch, which Dimensions plans on ensuring by making sure the set list is drilled into him over and over again with practice leading up to the big weekend.
Important dates:
September 21: Ever After concert at Yonsei University Auditorium in Seoul, South Korea.
September 22: Ever After concert at Yonsei University Auditorium in Seoul, South Korea.
Gal.actic
Their pride festival performances last month went well and Dimensions is considering the possibility of expanding their target demographic more now. In the mean time, they’ve managed to book a deal as the new faces of sports wear and sports equipment brand Sports 7330 and will film a CF for them. Additionally, they’ll begin filming the reality show they were promised and the concept will be revealed to them as a show where they attend college to study skin care and cosmetics alongside a male comedian and a rising male model. The show will be titled Gal.actic Beauty School. The first of four episodes will film at the end of the month. They’ll learn about the making of cosmetic products and brainstorm about what product they want to make in teams, then they’ll have a meeting with their team leader’s friends which will be filmed with a “group date” vibe this episode for the “college experience”.
Model team: Leader/main vocal, main rapper/main dancer/vocal, and vocal
Comedian team: Lead vocal, maknae/vocal, and lead rapper/lead dancer/vocal
Important dates:
September 19: Sports 7330 CF filming.
September 27: Gal.actic Beauty School episode one filming.
Alien
Though they’re in the middle of music show promotions, Dimensions have opted for a big push overseas, which is evident in Alien’s schedule. Early in the month, they’re set to perform in the Philippines, and after Chuseok, their English version of Play It Cool releases as a prelude to a a few performances in Las Vegas. After they officially wrap music show promotions, they’re booked for a German K-Pop festival and once they return to Seoul, they’re on the clock quickly ticking down to the beginning of their world tour next month.
Important dates:
September 7: Performance at Klook Cosmic Celebration at Hall D, World Trade Center in Manila, Philippines.
September 18: Release of Play It Cool English Version.
September 20: Performance at iHeart Radio Music Festival at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, NV, USA.
September 21: Performance at Life Is Beautiful Festival in Las Vegas, NV, USA.
September 21: Performance at iHeart Radio Music Festival at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, NV, USA.
September 26: End of music show promotions.
September 28: Performance at Finger Heart Festival at SAP Arena in Mannheim, Germany (also performing: Element).
MARS
English lessons are on the schedule up until Chuseok along with practice for their Canadian fancon. There will be cameras present at some of their lessons and practices to record clips for a mini docu-series on the fan-con Dimensions plans to release on YouTube. They leave for Toronto on the 25th and in the days leading up to the fan-con they’ll film more for the mini-series by exploring Toronto together, with the itinerary mostly being up to the members. On the 28th, they’ll do a surprise public performance of “Cactus” and “Callin” and will later in the day stage a surprise for a dance cover group who is performing their song in public by joining them.
Important dates:
September 25-September 30: Mini docu-series filming.
September 29: MARS Global Fan-Con in Toronto, Canada.
September 30: MARS Global Fan-Con in Vancouver, Canada.
7ROPHY
Music show promotions end with only one win, but that’s still better than was expected from them before this year. Dimensions has taken advantage of demand for them in Thailand by booking them two different performances there at the end of the month, but before that, they continue their job as Kaja Beauty brand ambassadors and continue refreshing their Japanese for their Japanese comeback next month.
Important dates:
September 6: End of music show promotions.
September 10: Kaja Beauty photoshoot and individual interviews.
September 21: Performance at K-Crush 2019 Concert at Impact Challenger Hall 1 in Bangkok, Thailand (also performing: Gold Star Soloist 2).
September 29: Performance at KCON Thailand at Impact Arena in Bangkok, Thailand (also performing: BC Soloist 1)
Unity
The beginning of the month will look promising to fans who have been asking for Unity to be given a break, but contrary to their lack of public schedules, they’re hard at work behind the scenes to learn and record the English version of “Highway to Heaven” which will be released, non-promoted, next month. Following Chuseok, they’ll fly back out to the US to film the music video in the Mojave Desert over two days before returning to Seoul. Starting from the 21st, they’ll have a series of overseas performances and appearances to keep them busy.
Important dates:
September 16 & 17: Highway to Heaven (English Ver.) MV filming in the USA.
September 21: Performance at K-FLOW2 Concert at National Taiwan Sports University Arena in Taipei, Taiwan.
September 23: Angel Japan 1st Meeting 2019 Welcome To Our Playground Part 1 & Part 2 fan meetings at Makuhari Messe in Chiba, Japan.
September 25: Release of Awaken Japanese album.
September 26: Awaken Hi-Touch at Roppongi Hills Arena in Tokyo, Japan.
September 28: Performance at Global Citizen Festival at Central Park Great Lawn in New York City, NY, USA.
Lucid
Their second block of Lucid Look After Our Dog shooting is set for this month, on top of two college festival performances and a cover video filming. Dimensions has arranged for Lucid to prepare a mash-up dance cover of some of the year’s boy group releases, Origin’s “Boy With Luv”, Knight’s “Love Shot”, Alien’s “Alligator”, and Unity’s “Simon Says”, for an industry YouTube channel, which will give them a chance to show off their more girl crush charms that have been less prevalent this year. For this month’s Look After Our Dog filming, they remain in the same teams, but meet new dogs for two new live streams. Team B once again wins for episodes 3 and 4 while Team A wins for the first time for episodes 5 and 6.
Team A

Main dancer/vocal/rapper
Maknae/vocal
Episodes 3 & 4: Binu (Maltese) & Shampoo (Maltese) - Missions: Go camping, feed them cabbage, give them an afternoon nap

MIKE FIGGIS - SPECIAL GUEST OF THE 21st FAR EAST FILM FESTIVAL
With two Korean projects in the works, the director of Internal Affairs and Leaving Las Vegas comes to Udine!
Tumblr media
Mike Figgis giving a lecture to our Campus guys about “The Art of Reviewing Chat”
He's a director (as well as a writer, composer and photographer) who likes to take artistic risks, he moves between the mainstream and the underground with extreme ease, and he's about to appear in Udine as a special guest of the Far East Film Festival 21. He's British filmmaker Mike Figgis, the visionary talent behind the memorable (and award-winning) Away from Las Vegas and  blockbusters like Internal Affairs, but also director of intimate personal pieces like The Loss of Sexual Innocence and the recent Suspension of Disbelief.
In addition to composing the soundtracks of all his films and being the author of numerous essays and books on cinema, Figgis is a true pioneer in the use of digital technologies, undertaking avant-garde projects like the first opera show broadcast live in 3D or Kudelski, the film he shot and edited in real time over four days in Paris and London.
So what's the connection with the FEFF, then? Simple: a passionate love of Asian film, especially the cinema of South Korea, where the director has been several times to give seminars and masterclasses. And as soon as he returned from his third trip, Figgis roped expert on Korean cinema and FEFF consultant Darcy Paquet into a (double) Asian adventure.
The director, in fact, already has two projects in the pipeline: a Korean feature set in Los Angeles and a series of TV shorts looking at the gender issues which have recently emerged in Korean society. These are the reasons behind his first visit to Udine, where he is impatient to "keep meeting Korean actors, directors and producers and to enjoy the rich selection of Korean films present at the Far East Film Festival".

We started early in the morning for bride's and bridesmaids' preparation in nHow hotel in Angel with photo and video shoot. This hotel is a hidden gem in central east of the city! We really loved this artistic, quirky hotel. There are lots of fashionable designs, mixing with different lightings, modern with a sense of vintage decor… All these constructed a very nice backdrop for photo shoot.
The ceremony last a maximum 30 mins.
