So while I work and try to keep my mind off life things I’ve fell deep into the Dead Boy Detectives fandom. I drug my wife into it but now we have different pairings. She is obsessed with Cat King/Monty (I like the ship but I’m predictable and ship Charles/Edwin as my main lmao) and as such has read the same fic 5 times in the span of 24hrs. Someone pls give her some food, she is withering lmaooo.

🍰zero has a very slow pulse and runs cold. edwin also has poor circulation. jackson, grand finale, and emile run hot

🍰due to the strange state he exists in, a0 cannot be killed by normal means. this doesn't mean he can't be hurt though. if cero is hurt badly enough, he'll pass out while his body recovers. most of this time, this works in his favor. but it's not so great if, say, a horrible beast that used to be an angel, damned to walk the earth crushed under its own endless hunger happened to down cero and start eating him alive. at least there won't be any lasting physical injuries but the mental scars aren't going away any time soon

🍰grand finale's insides are made of fire. this is partially why it runs so warm

🍰edwin's 'sixth sense' is purely visual, but cero's is more. tactile? different kinds of beasts "feel" like different collections of not-quite-physical sensations. when cero meets jackson he learns that angels feel like uncomfortable prickling warmth, the feeling of being watched, and ozone sticking to the back of his throat. and grand finale feels like that but sharper and more metallic and the ozone feel/taste/smell is stronger 🍰of the angels who were forcibly booted down to earth while they were killing god, grand finale was the last. and despite the less than ideal circumstances of its welcome to earth, it's also arguably having the best time out of all of them. this is because grand finale simply Fell, while the others were banished, or Damned. which warped and mangled them in the process. one of those banished is Hunger, who is the beast-that-used-to-be-an-angel that treats cero like a golden corral. until grand finale comes along and beats hunger's ass for harming the not-quite-human it's been begrudgingly endeared to
