listen..... shuu has a soft spot for sunny, for a few reasons: 

when she first arrived at the sakamaki mansion, she was actually slightly overweight (~65 kg and 157 cm) and soft around the edges, and wearing a chunky sweater with her poofy hair down. shuu took one look at sunny, went “damn, that’s a body pillow if i’ve ever seen one,” and his opinion on her hasn’t really changed since 

she’s easy to tease and flusters easily. he’s into that 

is sunny loud? yes. can she be frightened into silence? also yes. he could and did work with that when she was at the sakamaki mansion 

so yeah, shuu’s been teasing/lowkey flirting with sunny since like... Chapter 3 of TEA. sunny’s never gonna reciprocate any of that, bc she’s a) clueless and b) a lesbian, but if shuu was a girl? she wouldn’t know how to handle that flirting at all lmao, and while they still probably wouldn’t date, there’d be a hell of a lot more tension between them. 

the “maybe” is yuma. another guy with a soft spot, but he isn’t nearly as suave as shuu can be, so sunny interprets his brand of flirting as “this guy is being mean to me.” that wouldn’t change all that much if yuma was a girl. 

anyway, uhh...... my pal @midoriyaizukun and i spent a good couple of hours talking about this yesterday, and we’ve kinda...... come up with an entire AU for this? the general concept is “really ugly love triangle between shuu, sunny, and yuma that everyone else hates” 

shuu is flirting with sunny. sunny Does Not Know How To Deal With This. yuma, who is lowkey crushing on sunny, hates that shuu is being so flirty and is trying to win over sunny herself, but is so gruff and awkward that she’s just... making things worse for everyone involved. 

the kicker? shuu knows that yuma is jealous, and she’s actively trying to make that jealousy worse. she’ll deliberately approach sunny whenever yuma is nearby, say something like “oh, you’ve got something on your face :)” and take her sweet time brushing her thumb over sunny’s lips as yuma stands on the other side of the hallway absolutely FUMING. 

and, like, if yuma ends up losing it, is shuu really going to complain about getting pinned to a wall by the school’s resident hot 6′3 country butch girl? no, she’s not.

so, congrats on guessing this correctly! i’m gonna post the drabble, as promised. i just wanted to give some context here bc there’s actually a whole lot to this jdslkaghsdlkagkkdfhdkj
