thinking about how 200~ notes is seen as criminally low for fanart posts but most fic writers i know would be overjoyed with even just half of that. or a quarter, even

#its me im most fic writers #poppy speaks #this isnt to hate on anyone; i just realized that we (writers and artists) have pretty different standards in terms of engagement #like the artist im rbing a 'support your content creators more' post from probably has a higher... baseline of notes? if that makes sense #meanwhile most of my writer friends' posts barely crack 50 #actually sometimes it's not even past 20 or 30 notes #actually #this is probably because most people relegate fanfic reading to AO3 #and reading fanfic directly on tumblr or other socmeds isn't that popular an option #because AO3 is already there #and art is generally just more accessible tbh #gifs too #i think most fic readers only begin to read fic for a fandom when they're in a little deep #most casual fans meanwhile just rb a couple textposts art or gifs and then move on
