CASTLEVANIA AU

based on how you choose to construct the au (personality, relationship to each other, backstory) there are arguments to be made for different interpretations but here’s what i personally find most interesting

amera- trevor belmont

family spent generations protecting people from evil, eventually got blamed and betrayed and hunted by those they swore to protect.

taking some liberties with this in that amera iS good at fighting in this au (it doesn’t work otherwise) there are ways to incorporate if i really felt like delving into how it would play out in trevor’s position- (maybe she isn’t good at fighting in her family- but outside of it she can stay alive?? turns into why was it me that was saved and also ties in nicely to canon amera’s struggle with her own cowardice (she survives because she runs)

also just imagine that all of amera’s Canon Gun Skills are now just Canon Whip Skills and ignore that canon her can’t fight for shit

her personality has obviously changed a bit- but amera’s always had a mean streak. you know early chapter three amera? (you don’t but i do) trevor! amera is just like that all the time pretty much. obviously she softens up when she meets the others but it’s never quite canon amera

now the tricky ones.

to me, alucard’s main trait is his loneliness. this lines up best with bug, to me. tomilan may be lonely after being abandoned, but the loneliness isn’t defining (her abandonment issues also don’t define her but stick with me as i can’t find a better word). so i’d say the loneliness lines up more with bug.

so. bug- alucard tepes.

bug as the one always wearing a mask and living up to a legacy- nameless and faceless and nothing but a symbol, and alucard taking his fathers name and choosing to step into his legacy, to define himself by him.

bug does not fit neatly into this. i’d invent a character to be the dracula and lisa- probably for this i’d keep alucards basic backstory and just shove bug into it.

ofc bug is lonely as a temple guard so yeah. it works.

i think that for this one bug WOULD be alucard for a while- but lisa would have nicknamed him “bug” as a child affectionately. since in my version things are different (obviously) prehaps they’d share the name and it would stick, and they’d finally be free of dracula’s legacy or smth.

now- tomilan as sypha.

you’re insane. you may think. and maybe i’ve gone mad with power but HEAR ME OUT-

tomilan, with a few changes to her backstory, easily slots into sypha.

what’s her carachter arc- sypha goes from bubbly speaker to world weary and tired.

but she’s also headstrong and loyal and selfless. as is tomilan.

the bubbly part is easy to rectify- just take Sypha and out Tomilan’s personality on top of her- you can still keep her arc.

so tomilan be- adopted by her moms- sheltered from the war as they hide her with the speakers. she learns magic and yearns to join the war and Prove Herself, before realizing that yeah. shit sucks. but she keeps trying.

that’s just chapter 1-2 tomilan slightly to the left, really.

she’s a speaker magician (obviously), and she’s still blind. in this au she’d have some form of echolocation linked to her magic. echolocation exists, sypha can canonically summon electricity, tomilan is just constantly sending out small electric pulses and recieving feedback. i’m far too tired to do reasearch.

also i think that tomilan being the sort of original soft spot between bug and amera is a nice tie in to both of the canons :)

isaac is nowhere to be found because uh. i’m not messing with perfection HELLO? i love him so much. hector and lenore aren’t here for the OPPOSITE reason. but yeah this is all i got so far :)
