Not to talk about Star Wars on main but TLJ is inherently the superior instalment of the ST because it actually committed to exploring it’s new concepts and the narrative hooks set prior and not just setting up the vague promises of things to be examined next movie. Like yeah, basic storytelling and you can discuss and argue about the decisions made, but I infinitely prefer a story at least saying something unique and building upon the wider narrative as opposed to 3647585 fan references, lens flares and little else.

#tbh my biggest issues w that movie is that the pacing is a bit clunky #Poe didn’t need to be a main character #like I appreciate rian giving him a character arc but his screen time detracted from more interesting characters like Finn and rose #and the deleted scenes w Finn should’ve been kept in #so his arc felt like it had more narrative impact #Luke’s character arc is GOOD and makes SENSE and I’ll defend it to the death fuck y’all 💙🤧 #tunes titters
