Den Haag Centraal.

I had two half days in the Netherlands so I could shoot a portrait for a client, with just enough down time to do some personal work. But instead of my usual 'little carry everywhere', I thought I'd complicate matters and take a medium format camera and a huge lump of glass with me.

I started shooting in Bristol Airport, then flew to Schiphol and got a train to Den Haag. After the shoot the next morning I slowly inched my way home. Just about the right amount of time to get my teeth into the place.

I was lucky with the light; razor sharp spring sunshine, as edgy as it was cold. I've not had much of this in England lately so it was great to work with high contrasty light, playing with angular pools of sunshine and cavernous areas of shadow.
