Wow, I just got informed by Nexus Mods via email and website notification that I have received a lifetime Premium membership for free on Nexus Mods as a mod author reward, since all my mods that are hosted on Nexus Mods have reached 30,000 unique downloads in total!
It was actually only through receiving this reward that I learned about Nexus Mods' program to reward free Premium memberships to mod authors.
I never spent a single cent on Nexus Mods, and my mods are all passion projects, so I never expected to enjoy any extra benefits or privileges on Nexus Mods. That said, I cannot complain about receiving a premium membership on a website I use regularly for free, even though the unlimited mod download speed is the only benefit I am really interested in.

A Summer’s End — Hong Kong 1986 has taken my standards for LGBTQ+ representation in video games to the next level. Disco Elysium does the same when it comes to my standards for writing and storytelling in video games.
BioWare games were my gateway to LGBTQ+ content and storytelling in video games, but no BioWare game can hold a candle to A Summer's End and Disco Elysium in terms of quality of those things.

At this point, my feelings about Pokémon games are very similar to BioWare games: I still like some of their older games, and their old games played notable roles in my gaming history (Pokémon Red was the very first video game I actually played, while Star Wars: KotOR was the first Western RPG I played), but I have become jaded about the direction of their games in recent years, especially after I discovered and played indie titles that do the things they are known for better and with more passion — Cassette Beasts for monster-collector games, Disco Elysium for choice-driven video game narratives, and A Summer's End — Hong Kong 1986 for same-gender romances in video games.

There are no words for how much I love Cassette Beasts' theme about humanity's ability to change reality, both for good and for bad, with Archangels being a representation of it, along with an ultimately hopeful and optimistic message that humans can do better and make a difference both to the world and themselves.

I quitted Star Wars: Galaxy of Heroes after playing it for a year (from July 2018 to August 2019), mainly because I'm sick of the grindy nature of the game, and I still don't regret my decision in the slightest.
In fact, quitting the game has given me more time for other hobbies, like reading more books. In particular, quitting SWGoH gave me the time to finally start watching Star Wars Rebels and reading the Thrawn novels.
Even if you don't spend money on microtransactions, video games with microtransactions are still a massive time sink if you want to progress, since they're deliberately designed to be grindy, so they could tempt you to spend money to skip the grind. These games are also designed to be addictive to tempt you to spend time and/or money on them.
My negative experience with grindy and addictive F2P games like SWGoH has also made me dislike gacha games in general and refuse to play them, including Genshin Impact.
